  5. Yesterday it was announced that Croatia had chosen used Israeli F-16C/D (Block 30) Barak's to replace its fleet of ageing MiG-21BisD fighters. The deal is reportedly worth $500 million according to media reports and includes 12 aircraft (10 F-16C's and 2 F-16D's), the refurbishment (modernisation), two simulators, weapons and training. The first two are set to arrive in 2020. and the rest by 2022. The three other competitors to the Israeli offer were new Gripen C/D's, new F-16 Block 70's from the US and used F-16's from Greece. The first two offers were deemed too expensive while Greece's offer was unsatisfactory. Croatian authorities have said that they (ambitiously) plan to use these aircraft for the next 25 years at least.
  6. Hi In the book "Israeli Mirage and Nesher Aces" by Shlomo Aloni, I have found the information that: Throughout its 20 years of service, the Mirage III underwent just four major technical changes in IDF/AF service – theintroduction of the ‘holding switches’, replacement of the Cyrano with ballast, swapping the Atar 9B for the 9C and, finally, removal of part of the ballast at ace Kobi Richter’s request in 1977. This moved the centre of gravity backwards, cutting minimum speed from 150 to 120 knots and increasing maximum ‘G’ from 6.5 to 7.3, thus improving sustained turn rates". I would like to create this late modification of Mirage from 1977 for SF2 by: 1) changing empty mass of plane; 2) changing inertia of plane; 3) changing center of gravity position of plane but I need some additional informations which I can not find: 1) have I to change any other data in DATA.ini file to properly reproduce the changes in flight model? 2) what is the mass of Cyrano Ibis radar/nose ballast? 3) how much of the ballast was removed? 4) how much has the center of gravity changed? Please help. Thanks in advance.

File Name: IAI Dagger B File Submitter: denissoliveira File Submitted: 18 May 2015 File Category: Israeli Origin Dagger B The remaining Israeli Nesher aircrafts were refurbished and exported to the Argentine Air Force in two batches, 26 in 1978 and 13 in 1980, under the name Dagger, comprising 35 Dagger A single-seat fighters and 4 Dagger B two-seat trainers. They formed a new unit, 6th Air Group, and were immediately enlisted with the help of the 8th Air Group (Mirage IIIEA) and the Peruvian Air Force, already a user of the Mirage 5, due to the escalating crisis with Chile of that year. During the 1982 Falklands War, they were deployed to the southern naval airbase of Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego, and an airfield in Puerto San Julián and despite the distance to their targets and lack of aerial refueling capability, managed to make 153 sorties against both ground and naval targets on the 45 days of operations. In the last role, they damaged HMS Antrim, Brilliant, Broadsword, Ardent, Arrow and Plymouth. Eleven Daggers were lost in combat (nine by AIM-9L Sidewinders fired from Sea Harriers and two by surface to air missiles). In the 1979 contract with IAI, the Argentine Air Force stipulated that the Daggers would be equipped with new avionics and HUD systems to take them to the Kfir C.2 (and beyond in some subsystems) standard. The program, named Finger, was underway in 1982 when the Falklands War broke out. With the war over, as some of these systems were made by the British Marconi Electronic Systems, they needed to be replaced after an arms embargo was imposed by the UK. The replacement of such systems took the planes to the final Finger IIIB standard mainly by replacing the British equipment with French-built Thomson-CSF. 13. File Name: IAI Nesher T File Submitter: denissoliveira File Submitted: 16 May 2015 File Category: Israeli Origin IAI Nesher T The Israel Aircraft Industries Nesher (Hebrew: ?, "Vulture" - often mistranslated as "Eagle") is the Israeli version of the Dassault Mirage 5 multi-role fighter aircraft. Most were later sold to the Argentine Air Force as Daggers, and later upgraded as Fingers. -Design and development Israel had to replace more than 60 aircraft lost during the Six Day War and the War of Attrition which followed. Before the war, Israel began co-development with Dassault to build the Mirage 5 and it was eventually built by Israel and named Raam in Hebrew (thunder). Dassault Aviation had developed the Mirage 5 at the request of the Israelis, who were the main foreign customers of the Mirage III. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) wanted the next version to have less all-weather capability in exchange for improved ordnance carrying capacity and range as the weather in the Middle East is mostly clear. In January 1969, the French government arms embargo on Israel (in response to the 1968 Israeli raid on Lebanon) prevented the first 30 Mirage 5 aircraft (which were already paid for by Israel) plus optional 20 from being delivered and cut off support for the existing Mirage IIICJ fleet. This was a setback for the Israeli Air Force, who needed the new Mirage to compensate for the losses of the Six Day War and was still using the Mirage IIIC. Israel then decided to produce the (Raam A and B project) airframes as it had the necessary plans, although Israel did not officially obtain a manufacturing license. Officially, Israel built the aircraft after obtaining a complete set of drawings. However, some sources claim Israel received 50 Mirage 5s in crates from French Air Force (AdA), while the AdA took over the 50 aircraft originally intended for Israel. Production began in 1969 with the first empty airframes with no weapons, electronics, seat, or engine included delivered directly from Dassault Aviation. The first Raam A was delivered in May, 1971. In November, 1971 the plane was renamed Nesher. The Neshers' airframe was identical to the Mirage 5, but there was an extensive refitting of Israeli avionics, a Martin-Baker zero-zero ejection seat, and improved provisions for a wider range of AAMs (Air-to-Air Missiles), including the Israeli Shafrir heat-seeking missile. Fifty-one Nesher fighters (Nesher S) and ten Nesher two-seat trainers (Nesher T) were built in all. The Nesher had simpler avionics than the Mirage IIIC but was slightly less maneuverable. However, it had longer range and bigger payload. The reduced maneuverability did not prevent the Nesher from performing well in air combat during the Yom Kippur war. Nesher production was phased out from 1978 to make way for an improved Mirage derivative that had been planned in parallel, in which the Atar engine was replaced by an Israeli-built General Electric J79 engine, the engine used on the American Lockheed F-104 Starfighter and McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighters. The result was the IAI Kfir. -Operational Israeli Nesher over the Golan Heights during the Yom Kippur War The first Nesher prototype flew in September 1969, with production deliveries to the IAF beginning in May 1971, ending in February 1974. These aircraft performed well during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, claiming over a hundred kills. Install: Strike Fighters Israel or Strike Fighters merge. 15. Hello, I'm new to this forum and see that this is a truly committed community with excellent mods. I flew my way from falcon, dcs, il2 to strike fighters. I was grounded for several years due to professional reasons. Now, with limited time available, I want more flying and less reading (manuals). I found strike fighters the perfect match! And, I must say...it feels really immersive! It is the perfect combination between realism and playability. I enjoy it! Altough I see it as an early jet era sim. The lesser extend of complexity of those jets are perfect for these kind of sims. That's were it's suited for the most in my opinion. But...I must say that I found the way sf2 works, especially the way it can be modded confusing. I succeded in installing the rends europe enhancement mod, eventually. It is truly great work! However, the Israël mod by Stary is a mistery for me. Maybe I have to explain that I installed both of the games on a different location on Win 7 machine( asus i5 laptop). On my d drive instead of my c drive. For WOE, i could find all the folders, including the so. called mod folders. But for wings over Israel... There is no folder such as the modfolder like there is for WOE! I can't find it! Apart from the original install folder on my d drive. I did what was decribed. Opened the game ones, searched in user/saved games/ etc... I find the folder for WoE but no Israel folder! So, I have no place to put the folders in... I don't understand. HELP! Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

  18. File Name: Vought F-118 Raider - Israeli Air Force Pack File Submitter: ianh755 File Submitted: 08 December 2013 File Category: What If Hangar ************************ Israeli Air Force F-118 Pack for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 ************************ This pack contains several Israeli Air Force versions of the Vought Raider F-118 - created by Cocas (Daniel) - and it has been tested on a May '13 fully merged install of all 5 games. It requires SF2:Israel for the A/C serial numbers to show up on the tails, however, it will run without SF2:I but the tails will be blank. ***Aircraft can be found under "VOUGHT F-118" in the In-Game Menu*** History -------- In 1974 the USAF started the Light Weight Fighter competition for a new light combat Fighter to complement the F-15A Eagle and in this version of History the winner was..........The Vought F-118A Raider. The aircraft's low cost and advanced design meant that it was exported widely, with Israel in particular buying a sizeable amount and modifying them well beyond what the original designers had ever thought possible. This pack is designed to roughly mirror the service history of the F-16C/D/I so the design of a Blk30 F-118 is fairly similar to that of a Blk30 F-16 for example. Installation ------------- Unzip then copy and paste the Effects/Flight/Objects folders into your Mod folder, usually C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 **or whatever yours is called**. AIRCRAFT ------------ Aircraft Specific Info - ---------------------- Single Seat - Vought Raider F-118C 'Netz-A' ('87 - '94) - Initially designed as a fighter with a limited Air to Ground capability the IAF transformed it into a capable multi-role aircraft, able to dominate the airspace whilst improving the original designs limited Air to Ground capabilities. Vought Raider F-118H 'Barak' ('95 - '30) - This upgrade saw everything from the engine to weapons to the avionics all upgraded, especially with the addition of Conformal Fuel Tanks (CFT's) to allow the pylons to be fully loaded with the latest smart weapons instead of fuel tanks creating a true multi-role aircraft whilst still allowing it to retain a significant Air to Air capability should the need arise. Two Seat - Vought Raider F-118D 'Netz-B' ('87 - '94) - Originally designed as a trainer the IAF transformed it into a superb Strike & Wild Weasel aircraft. More importantly for the IAF, the 2nd crew member also turned it into a deadly CAS aircraft. Vought Raider F-118I 'Barak II' ('95 - '04) - This upgrade saw everything from the engine to weapons to the avionics all upgraded, especially with the addition of Conformal Fuel Tanks (CFT's) to allow the pylons to be fully loaded with the latest smart weapons instead of fuel tanks which, with it's 2nd crew member and advanced avionics, makes it ideal for the Wild Weasel role. Vought Raider F-118M 'Sufa' ('05 - '30) - This massive upgrade once more saw everything uprated, from the engine to the weapons it can carry and, with this version, the avionics were all hugely upgraded, allowing it survive far behind any future enemy's lines, a mission for which it was especially designed. In addition to the CFT's fitted on the Barak II there was now a Spine Rack fitted to store all the extra Avionics required to make this the most advanced F-118 in Israel's inventory and possibly the deadliest aircraft in the Middle East. OTHER INFO ----------- Issues - ------ Python Missiles & Fuselage Pylons - Due to the size of the rear fins on the Python Missiles then can sometimes touch the stores put on the inboard wing pylon. MApping - The mapping is difficult around the nose with some skin stretching. The USAF Euro skin was really tricky, so much so that I wanted to punch a thousand cute kittens in their cute little faces by the end, after spending hours/days trying to get the edges to match up! So sadly some of it's not as good as I'd like but the PS templates are out to so hopefully you can improve on my skin. Weapons - PLEASE download Ravenclaw007's weapons packs, they are truly fantastic and include many unique Israeli weapons which haven't been included in this pack. *******If you find any issues or find that I've got something wrong please contact me on CombatAce - http://combatace.com/user/64030-ianh755/ ******************* THANKS -------- Cocas for creating the 3D model and then patiently modifying it every-time I asked for any/every crazy little thing! Ravenclaw007 for creating the superb F-16 cockpits used here with his kind permission, the Ejection Seats and yet again the stunning weapons he makes and I continue to enjoy using. RussoUK2004 for the use of his Hawk T1A models Damage DDS files which I used to create the damage DDS files for this pack. Spillone104 for his Improved Afterburner Effects. Old Diego (Diego Lozano) for the use of his F-16 Pilot. ************************************************************************************* Have fun and thanks for Downloading.............................................IanH ************************************************************************************* Click here to download this file

  20. File Name: Third Wire A-4E/H/F Ahit upgrade/ Enhancement for SF2 File Submitter: dtmdragon File Submitted: 13 November 2013 File Category: A-4 This is an upgrade and major enhancement for the stock Third Wire A-4E, H, & F Ahits (Skyhawks). The standard TW Ahits have a few issues with their historical accuracy. This mod corrects those issues and even adds a few more aircraft to the Ahit family. Instillation: As usual simply drop into your mods folder and allow it to override when prompted. (This is important as there are changes to some of the aircraft.ini files etc) Strike Fighters 2 Israel plus either Strike Fighters 2 or Strike Fighters 2 Vietnam are required. Changes include: - The A-4H Ahit was not delivered with a downgraded engine. It had the same J52-P8A engine as the F model Skyhawk. Israel latter upgraded the engines of the H and F Ahits to the P-408A as used in the A-4M and N Skyhawks. - The 30mm cannons fitted to the A-4H Ahit were fitted at a 2.5 degree downward angle due to the emphasis the IAF placed on strafing after the Six Day war. However in reality it was less than ideal as there was no change to the A-4 gun sight so aiming proved quite difficult until the introduction of the HUD in the Crystal upgrade. - A-4E Ahit was delivered with the avionics hump of the F model Skyhawk. The hump was installed in US Navy service in anticipation of receiving ECM equipment but these aircraft were delivered to Israel instead. Because it was empty the hump was initially removed in Israeli service. - The A-4E Ahit was also refitted with 30mm cannons. However due to the problems encountered with the angle of instillation in the H model Ahit they were installed at a 1.5 degree downward angle in the E models. - US Emergency Aid Skyhawks: During the Yom Kippur war A-4E as well as A-4F Skyhawks were sent to Israel as replacements for IAF A-4 losses during the war. These A-4E Skyhawks had the same standard of avionics as the F models. - Additional early textures added to the A-4H Ahits with the Star Of David on the rear fuselage and two digit aircraft numbers. - Additional texture added with the US 'Stars and Bars' and US Navy numbers which the A-4H wore during test flights in the USA. - Textures modified so there are no squadron colors on the rudder before 1976. - Textures modified so aircraft numbers are not on both the nose and vertical stabilizer at the same time before 1976. Before then the aircraft number was on either the nose or the vertical stabilizer- not both. Where it was largely depended on which squadron operated the aircraft. - The hump and corresponding avionics upgrade that appear on the A-4H Ahit (73) and A-4E Ahit (73) were known as the Crystal upgrade. This upgrade was designed to bring the Ahit fleet up to the standard of the A-4N Skyhawk/Ahit so this upgrade also included a basic heads up display with computerized weapons aiming. This upgrade would also be applied to the US Emergency Aid A-4E and F Ahits after end of the Yom Kippur war. - The triangular antenna behind the normal UHF/VHF antenna on the hump of the A-4H/E Ahits (73) as well as one of the nose antennas did not appear on the aircraft till the mid 80's - Loadouts: the stock Ahit loadouts are not unrealistic but they certainly aren't the most realistic. As such they have all been redone to include things such as the use of the Walleye in the anti-amour role by particular aircraft etc. - Opening canopy. - Landing light. - Cockpit armor changed to the same as the A-4F which the A-4H is meant to based on. - Yom Kippur and Lebanon War campaigns edited to include additional aircraft and weapons where appropriate. The Ahits will now appear in the game as follows: A-4E Ahit - Delivery of ex US Navy Skyhawks in 1971 fitted with an empty hump, no ECM and no chaff dispenser. A-4E Ahit (72) - The empty hump is removed in Israeli service, the aircraft are also re-fitted with 30mm cannons at a 1.5 degree downward angle. A-4E Ahit (73) US Emergency Aid - US Navy A-4E Skyhawks with avionics hump and standard USN avionics rushed to Israel during the Yom Kippur War to replace Ahit losses. A-4E Ahit (73) Crystal Upgrade - A-4E Ahits upgraded under project Crystal with ECM, RHAW, countermeasure dispensers, updated weapons delivery system, updated navigation system and a HUD. An extended tailpipe is also fitted. A-4F Ahit US Emergency Aid - US Navy A-4F Skyhawks with standard USN avionics rushed to Israel during the Yom Kippur War to replace Ahit losses. A-4F Ahit (74) Crystal Upgrade - US Emergency Aid A-4F Ahits are upgraded to the same standard as the project Crystal A-4H Ahits with a HUD, updated weapons delivery system, updated navigation system, 30mm cannons, extended tailpipe and P-408A engine. A-4H Ahit - Specific model Skyhawk for Israel based on the A-4F with deliveries starting in 1968. The A-4H had a downgraded weapons and avionics capability. A-4H Ahit (70) - Aircraft are re-fitted with 30mm cannons at a 2.5 degree downward angle. A-4H Ahit (72) - Israel begins replacing the J52-P8A engine with the more powerful J52-P-408A and restoring/ expanding the aircrafts weapon capabilities. A-4H Ahit (73) Crystal Upgrade - A-4H Ahits are upgrade under project Crystal with ECM, RHAW, countermeasure dispensers, updated weapons delivery system, updated navigation system and a HUD. IAI NESHER SF2I/Full Merged Here's the first of a new series of the long Mirage aircraft's family that we are creating with the Banidos Team, "IAI Nesher", my favorite Delta and one of those more action. But isn't an easy plane to fly, never attempt turns below 300km/h if there is not enough energy. The package contains new drop tanks and a new detailed model Shafrir missile. About effects you'll realize when you reach mach 1 that the famous round halo around the plane is generated, it remains only at that speed. Since I don't know much of Nesher integrated squads, I used the numbers created by Wilco decals for his skins sets for original TW's Nesher. This model uses the cockpit of TW original of Nesher. INSTALLATION: Extract the contents of this file and place it in the Mods folder of your SF2I or full merged install.
