I think a drag chute is only an eyecatcher in game and worse nothing. You will have no break effect, no speed reduction. A brake chute is whirling like wild when it is released, this is impossible to animate.

No braking effect?  I have set them up as air brakes with correspondingly large drag areas before, albeit ones that use the "deploy when on gears" parameter. So yes, they do slow the aircraft down, when setup as air brakes.

the only way you get a working dragchute for SF2 is including it to the 3d model like i did on my F-4E / RF-4E / F-16 and MiG-29 (not released) , then they slow down quite well

there are some other models with dragchute available i think

Just send a mail to TK asking If is possible to overcome the "non working weapons while on ground problem" Will see If he answers. If not, I have no idea of how to add those drag chutes.

Maybe the non useable weapons while landing gear is down is a patch issue. I tried in a August 2013 installation with no joy. Are you using the YAP method of opening the bomb bay + selecting the "weapon"??

Thanks to Stuntman. We're still tuning it, but is doable in all the planes:

Is possible to add drag on the open bomb bay doors?
