Did someone fix this after all the changes were made to SF2 and the old effects were not working anymore ?

I think they work fine, but I haven't paid much attention really...

Yes there is a real good one floating around somewhere for SF2.

 

Just have to make sure your weapon is using the right effect.

 

I will sort through my stuff later and post what I got that works.

  Ed, try these. They're an update of Lexx Luthor's excellent nuke effects by MKSheppard repackaged by me. Just make sure the proper EffectClassName is called out in the weapon's Data .ini. Enjoy!

  Wow, sorry guys; I guess I should have cleaned this up a little. Here's the corrected MissleObject text file:

 

As per Wrench, drop the contents of the Effects folder into your Effects folder, then use the instructions in the "Add to WeaponsData text file" to change the "EffectClassName=" from "NukeExplosionEffect" to KT030Effects (without the ww) or whatever corresponds to the particular weapon in each weapon's Data.ini. Also change the fusing distance to 200.0 as per Lexx. Drop the stuff from the "Add to MissleObject text file" into the MissleObject.ini (not sure if this is absolutly necessary, but...) and you're done. This may seem like a lot of trouble to go through, but, the first time you drop a nuke with these effects it'll all be worthwhile. These make the "NukeExplosionEffect" mushroom look like something that goes on a steak, with sauteed onions. Good luck!

where does the flightengine text file go ?  SF2 has weapons data text file ? where ? is there any 5 year old that can help me here ?crazy.gif.pagespeed.ce.b4aSfC0e_R.gif

Flightengine.ini will go into the Flight folder.

 

The weapon data call out amending the specific effect sought to be implemented  will go into the weapon folder; i.e.; B61_data.ini

Oh my, its alive 2.

 

Vk, I think you can just make the modifications in your current Flightengine.ini. Look at the Add to FlightEngine text file text file, lol.

 

Thanks Sup, and MK, for keeping it alive in sf2. I still only use sf1, and that rarely now.

 

I maxed these effects with ATI 4500 video card + AMD Semper0n cpu, assuming tml'>"...weapons going off all over the place and these nuclear blasts,..."  ie...lots of stuff going off on, or far beyond, the horizon. These effects could be vastly improved, I mean really ramped up now with more modern cards and cups...cpus sorry. I got to do this some day.

It also requires higher graphix settings, no matter the flightengine.ini. I figured there was some stuff in TK's code that the FE.ini didn't cover. This applies to the SF-1 however.

Modders Will Vary In Their Setups But Either Method Works As Long As Effects With SF2 Shaders Are In Effects Folder Or Particlesystem.ini in flight folder.

you don't.

 

that's actually not necessary to even mess with. All weapons are folderized, with their relevant inis within said folder.

 

I'd just download the Gunny Pak, and end all worries
