+MigBuster Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) The French Air Force has conducted the first air strike on a terrorist target in Iraq. Two Rafael's, one C-135FR Tanker were involved in a 7-hour mission from Al Dhafra to Iraq (1,700 kilometers) to destroy an ISIS target in northern Iraq on Sept. 19. Four GBU-12 LGB (Laser-Guided Bombs) were dropped by the two multi-role planes to hit a munition and fuel depot near the town of Zumar. http://theaviationist.com/2014/09/19/photo-rafale-multi-role-combat-planes-conduct-first-french-air-strike-in-iraq/ Edited September 20, 2014 by MigBuster 2
Emp_Palpatine Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 About time... Who wants free trip to 72 virgins land?

Emp_Palpatine Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Now that's a lot of communication from the HQ. That's quite unusual.
+JediMaster Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 France changed its procurement plans to buying mostly dual-seaters instead of mostly singles. I'm sure in the years since they've discovered there are times when they don't need 2 people in for a given mission but don't want to put all the hours into the single seaters and burn them up far ahead of the rest of the fleet.
+russouk2004 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 RAF given green light for 6 Tornadoes to start missions too...about bloody time...
