What about the Chinese L-15? there is one in the SF1 download section here. it's far from a perfect match but in my opinion a closer fit than the F-5.

The L-15 in the SF1 needs some serious reworking.  It's essentially a Strike Eagle crammed into a trainer.

WreckObject.ini has been giving me fits with some of the new craters but things appear to be returning to normal.

I am getting the US_Squad to appear after I drop paratroops on runways,

Marines coming off CH-46s

and Army Infantry coming off the back of CH-47s

Malaysian Special Insertion Team - Loaded up a 3x man Recon Team (Hatchet) and took off for the target.

Flew NOE (Nap of the Earth) to avoid detection.

Final Approach to target area, artillery prep had begun.

Objective in sight - BRDM-2

Touchdown and team off load.

 

Aircraft is a modified Mi-8T converted to a fictional Mi-8S model. Took me all day to position the troops (NVA/VC) converted into a 3x man cross border team. Still some testing to do.
