Sabro Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 *sorry if wrong forum section* Well, I gave myself a try and tried drawing some planes, here are the effects: Su-27 Flanker Polish Air Force F-16C Block 52+ What do you guys think? 11 Quote
+whiteknight06604 Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 far better than anything I have ever drawn. keep up the good work. Quote
+Geezer Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 If you drew those without tracing then you have an exceptionally good eye for proportion. If you want to develop your talent, then you can probably find some "how to do it" books at your local library or book store. Quote
Skyviper Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 This should go up on the CombatACE refrigerator ... if we had one. Quote
Muesli Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I probably will receive a lot of flak for this... but I don't like 'art' which i.m.h.o. is plain tracing work. And I am not going to say 'wow' just to be polite...I feel that's the same as lying. This society is made of too polite people who have become afraid of offending. This results in a society which praises mediocrity (like you seein all those pop idol shows) and that makes people oversensitive for anything else but praise. Criticism nowadays seems to be a no no...So... sorry... I know artists in various corners of the craft... THIS is not art, nor sketching, nor drawing, nor impressive... Give me a nice photo and a paper and pencils and I make just the same. Wanna make art? Don't trace or follow the dots... my 6-year old kid can do that too.Oh, if all above is too much to read, here's the conclusion: I don't like it, it's bad and an offense to real art. Quote
macelena Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I spent most of my time in college drawing planes (if they didn´t give me a laws degree, they could have given me an arts degree for what it takes) all i think is your lines look dubitative, as insecure. Dont draw trying to make it real, just draw imitating the feeling you get when you see the lines on an aircraft. I think it needs to flow, you know, that bruce lee thing about "be water my friend". And you should also try it from memory, draw what you remember, the impression it gave you. Quote
Sabro Posted July 4, 2016 Author Posted July 4, 2016 I decided to paint von Boremski's Bf 109 F-4, here are the results (the second one is colorized using Photoshop): Quote
