But the video gives a nice view on russian carrier ops in mediterranien sea.

 

If the statements of RT are correct, russian carrier planes will take part in the fights over Syria in very close time. It was said, that cruise missiles of the type "Kalibr" will used in the strikes.

Impressive.....the Ruskies sure know how to make some decent kit...it may look less advanced as the US,but they sure look good.....hairy short landing area....skilled pilots indeed....

I simply love the Flanker and The Fulcrums....they are just so pretty.....Flankers always remind me of geese in flight,with the broad wings and the drooping nose....awesome

That said the 33 is capable of buddy refueling so they can top off after launch.

Kuznetsov utilizes specifically a MiG-29K to act as a tanker for the aircraft on mission and also acts as a jamming aircraft if memory serves.

 

On a side note, it's very unfortunate that Kuznetsov managed to lose two aircraft within the space of three weeks, both during mission recovery, valuable lessons to be learned for sure.
