After a crash, my Strike Fighters 2 Europe keys appear all set as unassigned.

There's no way i can set 'em.

Even if i bind them, they still be unassigned.

I EVEN TRIED REINSTALLING THE GAME, and they are STILL all unassigned...

I seriously have no idea of what to do, since this happened only in Europe and not in vanilla game or North Atlantic.

There's also another problem: keys look "bugged" in SF2 NA, since i binded all of them, but some still don't work.

As these won't be enough, they're bugged also because if i set a key for a specified control, and then i try to unassign it re-pressing the same key on another command, instead of unassigning the first command, it glitches and i can set two or more commands with the same key... this clearly bugged out :stars:

Could you please help and tell me what can i do to "unbug" all of this mess?

Thank you a lot guys, i appreciate your help so much

I just found out that the only game where these "key bugs" do not happen is the vanilla SF2, where all keys are assigned and if i press an already used key to another command, the key sets and the one before unassigns, instead of "double setting" the same key for two different commands. These things apparently do not happen to me just in the base game... is there any way i can copy the controls files from base game directory to Europe and North Atlantic?  Would it work or they'll still be bugged (like in NA) and unassigned (like in Europe)?  Thank you very much :)

If you buy all five games you don't need to use more than one specific game, you can use one game and it'll have the content of the other games available. Probably you're having the issue because you're doing that, you're confusing the game itself with the keybinding and joystick mapping.

Have you tried deleting the default.ini file in your controls folder?

It will rebuild it self to default.ini when you restart the game.

What you mean i'm confusing

I don't have the content of NA or Europe into my base game, i need to switch to them if i wanna fly the Tomcat or the Eagle for example

Only my base game controls mappings "work" properly

That's weird, it should be available regardless of what game you play.

Maybe that's because i install all five games in separate directories?

Should i install them all in one?

That could be the reason why you're having to do that. Install all in the same directory and then just use one game to play. It'll automatically "sense" the other content from the games and then you'll have a merged game.

By default  -- as has been stated over and over to many people....

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE SF2 SERIES MERGES WITH EVER OTHER ONE UPON INSTALLATION. THIS INCLUDES AND PURCHASED DLCs.

This means that everything from each individual executable will be / is available in every single one. (example: you can acess the VietnamSEA terrain from withing the SF2I  game)

You can only create seperate mods folders for the individual games (ie, SF2, SF2I, SF2NA, etc)  by running each individual executable (SF2I.exe, SF2E.exe, etc). This creates the individual games, although, again, all things from all games are accessable from within each one

You have to start exploring your machine, and start finding the mods folders. Until that happens, there's not a lot we can do

I was wondering which files would be of importance to be on CombatACE EAW download section?
Or if you don't know specifically a file, how about a type or description of some file you want/need?

On a related note over at EAWHS:
I have been putting off updating my mediafire account. I'm finding it too difficult to manage quickly. Its a neat setup but I really need 15gigs of FTP space to update the files section on EAWHS properly. :|
I doubt any free service would be available. (I'm not paying for this hobby, more than I have too, its too much work). I've bought backup storage for EAW stuff that I'm working on, and maintain my computer, life and what not.
If you know of a free FTP storage solution, let me know, please.

I downloaded this mod for the F-5 and all of the skins for the aircraft are black, which means the textures aren't loading but I can't find out why it isn't loading. There is no exact installation instructions other than extract it into the mod folder which I did and there doesn't look like there are any issues with the file placement compared to the other aircraft files. Can anyone help me out?

P.S. the drop tanks have the textures working and the cockpit, loading screen, menu, etc all work. Everything but the skin.

      Howdy y'all!
So, I installed Wings Over Europe via Steam, promptly updated it to the October 2008 patch, and fixed the stuttering by using the ENB patch for Skyrim (of all things). I also cribbed the DDraw.dll from the DgVoodoo install, which prevented the game crashing when pressing escape at the end of a mission. A couple of things to note here:
      - The renderer indicated in the options menu is not ENB, but my GPU still. Despite this, the game runs perfectly fine.
      - I turned the shadows down from Unlimited to High as I read on a forum post that this could help with z-fighting, but this did not solve the issue. I will turn it back up to Unlimited if it is all the same.
      - There are absolutely no other graphical issues in the sim what so ever, no matter the aircraft, time of day, or weather.
The issue I am describing in the title appears like so in sim. I took three screenshots so you could see the way the dark boxes flicker on surfaces. It is not just aircraft, either, but also terrain. It seems to get culled in a circle as I turn my head with TrackIR:

As you can see, my wingman gets periodically eaten by this weird black blob. I am at a loss as to how to fix it, and if it cannot be fixed, that's completely understandable given the Biblical age of the engine. Thanks in advance!

      Hello,
I'll start off with just a one question; how do i create a .cat file? I don't even know if this is the right forum to do this but it was the best one. So why do i need to make a .cat file?, i wanted to add some RWRsounds to the sound list but was dumbfounded when it didn't belong in there. So i got the Cat extractor from thirdwire out and searched for the base RWRsounds, i extracted all the files from the Flightdata.cat and put them in a folder but now i am stuck with a regular folder that needs to replace the Flightdata.cat. But i don't understand anything when it comes to catalog files. If anybody does, please help me. I don't know what i need or what i need to do.
      Kind regards
