i wouldnt worry. nothing happens if you dont ask and bring stuff up

the worst case would have been someone said "its mine, dont release". then you'd still have it on your system for your own enjoyment

I understand your considerations and all... but you had ready quality cockpit for Su-24 and just kept it away for 7 years?

This is the only Soviet two seater cockpit that I have ever seen on this site. Aside from Su-24 it could be used as stand-in for Tu-22M and Tu-160 as they still use American cabins.

Sorry man, time limitations, priorities, and RL sometimes do this, so, basically, the answer is: Yes!

The main idea is to make a (again, no offense) more decent plane to go with the cockpit YEYEYE gave me... but it takes time...

So, I invite you to join the painstaking world of modding my friend, and help us have more toys to play with...

.

You just would'nt believe some of the stuff some of us are sitting on......some from way longer than 7 years ago.

Anything having Flogger23's name on it will be quality that takes time to perfect.

Best thing folks can do is get Max ( or Blender ) and build your own......it really is not that hard, espicially if you just want something for your own use and not chasing the "glory" of having others tell you how nice it is.

You're in good faith, and I'm glad the situation was soon solved in the best possible way with the other modders involved. This isn't the first time that something that shouldn't be uploaded gets approved indiscriminately. As much as you're at fault for uploading it, someone else is to blame for approving it without the proper consideration.

@FLOGGER23 I can surely wait, it's not my work and you decide what to do with it. If anything, this thread shows there's interest by many about an updated Su-24 so it may offer even more motivation to get it done. It's harder to work on something when nobody wants it, I know for experience. That being said, keep up the great work!

Sure. If I will still be around when the package will be getting ready for release, pass me cockpits for checking. YEYEYE makes great cockpits, but usually with lots of misspellings in Russian labels, plus some instrumentation may be wrong due to translations issues

Flogger23 and Sundowner have said it above perfectly... the more people who download the tools needed to create new mods the better (free ones like Blender and GIMP will do the job just fine). If there's something you want to see in game that no one else has made yet, then the best thing to do is have a go at making it. There are a tonne of very helpful people here in the forums (too many to list) that will help you along the way to learn the new skills.

I for one am really excited for what Flogger23 and the Sukhoi team will produce... if his existing mods and the sneak peaks in the stickied Sukhoi thread are anything to go by, it will be more than worth waiting for.

@simonmiller416 thank you once again for removing the mod, I appreciate you doing that.

View File [Fictional] Sukhoi Su-24P 'Fencer' for SF2
Sukhoi Su-24P for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of Veltro2K's Su-24 'Fencer' to create a fictional Su-24P in service with the Republic of Paran Air Force in the 1980-2020 timeline.
Please note that this Su-24P is released 'as is' (in response to a request) and it really needs some additional work on loadouts and the skin. In addition, the 3D model unfortunately has some 'rope' issues so you might want to turn shadows off.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Su-24P folder into your Aircraft folder.
      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Su-24P folder into your Decals folder.
      3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the PTB-3000P folder into your Weapons folder.
      That's it!

      CREDITS
As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
Special thanks to Veltro2K for bringing so many cool aircraft to Strike Fighters including this one.
And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

Thought it was time for me to start a forum thread on my Nihon Hitori 2020 campaign to update all on my progress.  Learned a lot so far as to the SF2 engine, much more to learn.  Also wanted to start a forum thread to explain my creative process and keep folks abreast of developments plus pose questions.
Now the pretext of "Nihon Hitori 2020" (Japan Alone 2020 in Japanese) is a mid 2/2020 campaign where the 201 & 203 JASDF Squadrons of F-15Js hold the line against a red tide of Flankers attacking Japanese ships & Hokkaido airports until JASDF reinforcements arrive to start shoving the Russians off of the Kurils as payback... and then a few F-35As help F-2A reinforcements kick a** ending with an explosive air-sea battle against a Russian surface task force.  All within 24 hours, so the JMSDF emergency task force is racing up at 30 knots to have some AEGIS & aircraft-carrying destroyers formate with some older "escort destroyers" out of Ominato base and then sortie together to North Hokkaido from their Honshu bases while the shooting war only intensifies.  All without overt US assistance as the current US President is more than likely to tell Japan they're on their own - he's already shown a clear misunderstanding at best of his responsibilities as Commander-in-Chief, a clear contempt for NATO, a deep empathy for Russian President Vladimir Putin, there's some open contempt between the current Japanese Prime Minister & the US President as a previous mentorship seems to have fallen apart, and the current US President even openly thinks, "If the United States keeps on … its current path of weakness, [Japan is] going to want to have [nuclear weapons] anyway with or without me discussing it."
With that backstory, here's how the first mission is going to likely go:

There's still some things that need to be firmed up, but this is the general idea for mission 01.  Using WikiPedia for Order of Battle/ORBAT unless tipped off for a better source so Sukhoi Flanker plane color schemes and variants can and will change.
When the second mission in sequence is firmed up and the third & fourth one (one of which will have JASDF F-35A), will announce that here also.
Please follow this topic and ask me any questions or requests you got.  Goal is to drop this mission pak on or before 25 March 2019 - my birthday!
