I am wanting to get SF2 Complete, but $100 is a bit pricey (yes I am aware it saves me $160 from purchasing everything individually, but I am not too keen on $100 for a game, especially at that age). Are there ever any sales for SF2 games on the thirdwire site?

Nope

That IS the discount

I don't think Thirdwire has ever done a sale where they reduce the price for a bit (but I could be wrong too). I mean yeah why pay 160 when you can pay 100? It's definitely worth it though.

for a game that has been abandoned from official support, $100 is not very worth it. So think twice.

to answer why

get it in portions over the course of a year as you can afford it. maybe get SF2  Europe first, then Vietnam or North Atlantic to have carriers a few months later. etc etc

its the route i wound up taking, and probably still would have taken as my mind and budget would have justified several $40 purchases over time rather than $100 at once

she may be old, but she has frankly an even bigger third party support crew than DCS with over 5000 various mods to add to the stock games

Fair enough.

Nice job there Orsin. Way to go!

You want a shovel to complete burying it? Maybe some concrete for the tomb??

I don't blame Orsin for what he said. The complete pack is overcostly for 2025, the games look pretty dated, have their own set of small issues, and TK aka ThirdWire seems to have entirely forgot about them. So yeah, I'd advise users to either buy one of the games (SF2 Europe would be my main pick for what it offers compared to the others) instead of the complete pack, unless they want to download and play all possible mods created by the community over time without any compromise.

Could I save up and spend the $100? Instead of several $40 purchases, I save up $50 twice?

im not TW, i dont run the store.

my point is that i spent $40 increments getting the parts i wanted most, then the next most and so on until i had it all. but that was buying each part instead of the whole box set

the $100 edition is the box set, everything at once. actually saves money over buying each piece over time (it also wasnt available when i was doing that)

you do you want to within the limits your budget constrains you to
