From my humble perspective there is no such thing as "freeware". There are always production and distribution costs. Someone is paying even if it's not the end user. We all should try and re-think the definition of "freeware" because to me it's all "payware". Some folks just ask others to help support their expenses and I see nothing wrong with that at all. A supportive community wouldn't hesitate at the opportunity to help out with the expenses. So why aren't we out promoting any new addition to the community? Dave is absolutely correct. Our position here is to support the entire community with it's many diversified individuals that do so much to continue their support for the enjoyment of others, "payware" or otherwise. Before we are critical of anyone offering continued life to an otherwise "as is" packaged past time I think we should consider what would happen if all the "freeware" or "payware" additions just stopped. I'll lay wager that the vocal tendencies would soon switch to, "where are all the new mods at?" Be thankful, be understanding, and most of all be supportive. Erik

The reason I'm looking to expand into different languages is that a large portion of our traffic originates from outside North America. I can't help but think that so many of our community members have a wealth of talent to share that they can't or don't. I'd like to develop forums specifically to make these members feel more at home. What would be the major languages you'd consider?

The AIM 9B was a mid to late 50's lead sulphide photo cell seeker. The main problem with accuracy is that the seeker was designed for for IR rad detection most affective against non moving targets. Another big draw back in the 9B is that it was very sensitive to passive reflection from the sun. The best thing that the 9B offered were the variants it gave birth to including the 9D which in turn gave birth (read: started the family line) to the 9X series. As you know the 9X is pure fury in a can you don't ever want to be on the receiving end of.

The problem with asking for help in English is that maybe the guys you want help from don't read or write English. How come I feel like I'm stuck in an oxymoron ... sorta like congress and progress. One of the reasons we added the Mirror Box here at CombatACE was to make sure we always had two copies of everything in two physically different locations. The chances of both machines crashing at the same time are very very remote. We may not look like much on the outside ... but under the hood we got it where it counts. Erik
