It's difficult for me to contain myself but that is exactly almost correct. We're sorry your expensive machines are offline. We have narrowed it down to a fitting (.40 cents) but we'll have it fixed shortly.

Just so you know. We've been experiencing some random downtime which has nothing to do with us. I've been reassured that the last instance was the last we should experience and everything is or has been repaired. Our downtime has been associated to a faulty CAT6 cable. I will continue to monitor this closely. Sorry for the inconvenience. top - 12:38:56 up 3 days, 19:44, 1 user, load average: 1.79, 1.61, 1.09 Tasks: 232 total, 2 running, 230 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 6.0%us, 0.7%sy, 0.0%ni, 92.6%id, 0.4%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.2%si, 0.0%st Mem: 10233432k total, 10108744k used, 124688k free, 510488k buffers Swap: 2104504k total, 8372k used, 2096132k free, 6181368k cached

Fixed. That was a typo instead of 500 KB max file size I had 50. Any image uploaded for profile background has to be smaller than 500 KB no dimensional restrictions just file size. Thanks great catch.

Please visit this thread. http://combatace.com/topic/76979-2013-ca-scorecard/ Let us know what you think of the outcome. We want to get it right and get it done. Thanks.

After the recent changes and upgrades CA wants to know how things are working for everyone. Above is a short one question survey please give us some feedback. If you feel there are things that need improvement please let us know. If it's broken or needs improvement we want to fix it. We would be grateful for any feedback you give. Thanks.

Officially I'm done.

I checked on tickets and there weren't any available for today Michael. I'm definitely good for a couple hours of work before and after lunch. ********************** SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ******************************** I have scheduled some changes to be done to our private network. They will take about 15 minutes to complete and right now we are in the que for 14:30 PST which is in about an hour. We'll be knocked off during the changes because they phsically need to remove our network card and replace it to handle the GBit backbone. See you in a couple hours. E

You shouldn't let your personal situation stop you from downloading files from here. In fact with things the way they are now is when you need the distraction the most. Download whatever you need and have fun.

My pleasure and thank you. As much as I piss and moan about all the work when it comes to moving and upgrades it has a purpose. In our old configuration our RAID10 array was composed of 4 drives, equal size all working as one with two mirrored (RAID1) and two striping (RAID0) for replication and speed respectively. Post carnage reports from the data center guys as they disassembled our old machine reported that one of the drives in the RAID1 mirroring set was crashed. It must have just happened because I usually run a transaction report on the raid controller to see the raid health at the beginning of each month. The last time I saw that report, beginning of January, everything was fine. So we're on new drives now anyway, all is fine, and I never had to worry about a degraded drive that I never knew existed. Sweet! Take care and thanks again.

Well really thank you. Had you not said anything I wouldn't have known that searchd wasn't configured to start automatically. I had to start the daemon, reload it's descriptors, and then set it's runtime at startup to on. Something I finished before you got back to check it again. E
-
Ok sure. Can you tell me more about the problem like what you are trying to search and what you're expecting to see?
-
That's it we're all done. Have fun and enjoy the new digs. Besides everything else I'm sure you're going to notice a nice improvement in speed and responsiveness. Nap time.

I'm running on my last ounce of energy here and I have one more thing we need to reboot for. This will be minimal downtime but none the less it needs to happen. After that we are reborn again with both feet planted firmly on the ground. I made some changes to the accounts last night which will relate to over all storage of data per each user. Based on our membership and storage capacities this was something I wanted reviewed and now it's done. Please feel free to jump in and let me know if you see anything that could need improvement or needs to be added. Time for a well deserved nap or two or three. E

I've heard it called a lot of things. Three finger salute <CTRL+ALT+DEL>, bounce the connection, etc etc. But yep it's a reboot as we all know it.
-
I think I've got everything site related back up and running 100%. Please let me know if you encounter any problems. I may have to reboot the machine one more time to change some settings on our private network adaptors but it will be quick. i'll use that time to also test our reboot and back to life settings. Thanks for bearing with me

Something Wrong in D/L section ?
Erik replied to paulopanz's topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
What? I don't understand. Sorry. The downloads are offline for a few more minutes while I get them moved on to the correct array. There shouldn't be any links available currently, is what I'm saying. -
I've got to take one of the machines down one more time. We will be offline for a short period. Thanks for understanding.

A huge thanks to all who are helping out, what a tremendous load off of my shoulders! I have been working day and night since Monday getting ready for this event. Having to move all of our sites and the data associated with them is a huge undertaking. As most of you know when you've changed your own personal machines it just takes time. First it's loading the new OS then installing all your favorite programs and secondly moving all the files associated with them. Finally it's tweeking everything to the way you like it. It's very similar here with one exception. I have to do this all remotely via shell access. No pretty GUI to play around with just a monochrome console screen, so it gets kinda old. I also want to let you know that you're going to experience some down time today and possibly tomorrow. Some of it will be longer than others but all in all I hope to keep things to a minimum. I think if anything the biggest issue we might have are the new IP addresses. Luckily I was able to get them a few days and they have already been populated in the DNS so moving to them *should* be seamless. So the outages are planned, no panicking allowed. Take care and we'll see you on the backside of all this.

http://combatace.com/topic/76848-upgrades-and-such-to-combatace/#entry611112 I'm working like a hooker on free clam night trying to get everything moved and without you guys experiencing any downtime. The link above is why, back to work, I believe your problem should be cleared by now I had to remove disc caching while I was moving things. Have fun. -

In addition new and current members can associate their Facebook accounts if they wish to do so. The newly deployed abilities gives Facebook members new abilities and a way to minimize multiple login accounts. New members can use the create login link on the top right of all our pages. To sign-in using your Facebook account all you need to do is choose the Facebook sign-in option when creating a new account. During this process you will have the option to choose your display name, which is the public name people see when you post or are online. (Example RedBaron01) Existing members who have an account with us already you can associate your account to your Facebook account by first logging out of the site. Next log back in using the Facebook option. Once you have completed the Facebook log-in you will be given the option to "Associate an Existing Account". Select that option and enter your log-in details for CombatACE and the two accounts will be associated. This option allows more Facebook type options while using our services and features here. Should you ever wish to remove your Facebook association removal is easy. Log into your Facebook and click on the Apps Page > My Apps. Next find CombatACE and remove it by selecting the small "X" in the upper right of the blue box that appears when hovering over our name. You must remove it through your Facebook account because they maintain the association we only allow the log-in using their credentials. We hope you enjoy the new features and we look forward to seeing how they are used.

HELP with green Hell 3
Erik replied to Cyanide's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hi - I'm going to move this down to the SF2 general discussions. You will get more help there than in the general section. Also there's a huge help section for the SF forums all your questions can be answered there with a little searching and reading. Past that there's a few different things available to you. First consult the README.txt that should be included with your download. That file will give you all the information you should need to install it. If it's not there or incomplete we recommend that you comment either on the file itself or in the file support area so the author can correct the issues. Hopefully you'll find the help you need.
