  1. I understand this is a sensitive issue. We've worked tirelessly with everyone in the past to come up with the free licensing agreement we have now. It is a dicey situation when anything is released to the public domain as you just never know what's going to happen to it or where it will end up. It's the reason software vendors have gone to phone home applications. Here we simply don't have that option. That said the best person to stay in touch with your mods is you and that's best accomplished just by staying active in the community, which you all do a great job of. I will admit that I approve my fair share of files and I simply don't have the time with these models as you guys do. Most of you can look at an antenna, nose cone, nacelle, tire, skin, or fly shit on the windshield and know it's your model. That is a function of how much time you spend building them. Even if I installed all the software and flew everything for 30 minutes before approving it I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a mirage factory skin and a skin by the german modders team. I'm sure you all understand that very well. I've put a lot of your ideas into place today and reworked a bunch of site skins to make sure that everyone who is uploading or downloading a file sees and has access to relevant threads and discussions about requirements and licensing. I also put up a small concise review of the agreement on the upload page. With all that I think we've done tastefully what we can to make sure everyone knows and sees the information. There really is no reason for anyone to miss it or not see it but someone at sometime will say I never saw it or read it. Please review the changes in the download section and get back to me.
  2. WOW! Beautiful history. The USS Coral Sea (CV 43) had an amazing 43 years of history 1947-1990. She was decommissioned in 1990, moved to Baltimore in 1993 for scraping which concluded 6 years later in 1999. The USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), another great battle cat with some 47 years of history (1961-2008). Decommissioned in 2008 she currently resides in Bremerton, Washington. Your Dad has a great eye for history, thank you for sharing these. The HMAS Melbourne (R21) had a very unique but incredible history as well from 1955-1982. I bet your dad has some real stories to share about the Melbourne if he was stationed aboard in the 70's. It would be really amazing just to hear them. Did you know that the Melbourne never fought a battle or was part of one but she still sank two ships? She was brutal when it came to allied vessels. In two similar accidents she sank two destroyers, one in 1964 where she sank the HMAS Voyager (D04) and the second in 1969 where she sank the USS Frank E. Evans (DD-754). I enjoyed reading up on all these vessels and getting to know a little about them all thanks to a few pictures and some history. Thank you and welcome to CombatACE doc. I got this pain in my .... errrrrrrr never mind. USS Coral Sea CV43 USS Kitty Hawk CV63 HMAS Melbourne R21 HMAS Voyager D04 USS Frank E. Evans DD754
  3. I can lead a horse to water but I can't make it drink. SEE THE WATER I would leave it at that for now and continue our process for approval / removal of files.

Stats are a possibility. History might be a little tougher because we'd have to store every download and continue to store them infinitely to make it worth having. This will ultimately end up being millions of records. Currently the download logs are rotated nightly so the maximum days of files we keep is 31 days. This helps to prevent having to store needless data conserving space and db usage. We already track and you already have the ability to "follow" a file which means you'll get a notification in your email or whatever you elect in your notification settings (inline, PM, email) when the file is changed or updated. Nobody is a burden unless they've purposely gone out of their way to be such. Don't worry about being a burden just be yourself.

All of the reports I'm pulling are from the last 7 days, I generally don't pull complete histories unless there's a problem I have to address. Since our bandwidth resets each month I generally only care about our aggregate throughput both directions (in/out). So what I've reported for everyone is the last 7 days of activity, just to put things into perspective. More cameras!

You're talking about the ingenuity of mankind. Give it some time and people will figure out a way. They put up more cameras to watch the cameras watching you, someone will figure out how to unwrap the prize without getting caught it's human nature.HAHAHA but yeah this is funny stuff, right funny.

Spinners you have our commitment and have had it for the past 10 years. When the site went down I personally answered all the concerns about subscription accounts. I was very fair with anyone who wrote in about extending their subscription time for the inconvenience. As for the gentlemen PMIK that is having problems downloading, that's a whole story in itself. I will contact him now about that as it seems something isn't quite adding up. PMIK's most recent download summary looks like this (below). No matter how you look at things 3.71GB of transfer is huge, that fact aside it's still 0% of our total transfers amount per month. Ideally handling customer service issues is easier and far less embarrassing when it's done here either through the support forum, via private message, or email as opposed to another site entirely. Ultimately we are here to be a benefit and a strong standing supporter of the community not anything else. 11. Now that's funny. Thanks Neil..
  12. I agree. If we need a pack mule why don't we just use a pack mule? Now the robot that can leap buildings that thing is gold.
  13. Did you just call me Duhude? hahaha The technology is terrific. Multi-gimbal / multi-gyro stabilization has come a long way. The AT-AT Walkers best idea yet. The noise obnoxious. At least put a beefy exhaust on the thing.
  14. Here's the thing McLovin. I couldn't stand to listen to that thing for 5 minutes let alone 5 miles. I'll take a pass on this one.

  16. I think I totally missed something. Can I buy a ticket off the island?
