  1. There's nothing wrong with our SSL Certificate. https://www.geocerts.com/ssl-checker
  2. Honestly, I have no idea if this is going to be an issue on your instance of FF? I use FF all the time and I've never had a problem, even with multiple logins on multiple devices. I wouldn't even know how to start help you diagnose that but check that you're allowing cookies to be stored and not erased after every session? That's my only guess. Thanks
  3. For giggles delete all the combatace.com cookies and cached pages, restart you browser, and see if that fixes it.
  4. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can If there's a KnowledgeBase on the issue it's fairly common. Go through this step by step and see which one fixes your issue. Let me know E
  5. Microsoft Edge - Version 93.0.961.52 (Official build) (64-bit) Firefox - Version 92.0 (64-bit) Those are the version I updated to and tried accessing CA without any issues.
  6. Can you look in the about tab of Firefox and report to me the version you're running? Please do the same for Edge. I'm going to see if I can duplicate your problems here. I'll report back after installing both browsers. E
  7. Backup Firefox, remove it and reinstall. Then check if the problem goes away. You can then import your backup and start troubleshooting from there as needed. There's no need for us to block specific browsers, if you have access to the site, it doesn't matter to us which browser you use. Let me know how things turn out. E
  8. That really makes no sense, backup and reinstall Microsoft Edge if the stock version of Edge works then when you import the backup data it doesn't work, you'll know where to start looking. Additionally, you can install Chrome to see if that works which leads me back to suspecting Edge.
  9. Makes little sense to me at all, same IP you're using the devices from or is the laptop on a home IP and the phone on a carrier IP? Regardless I've flushed the blocks and restarted the machine again. There's were no hit records in the logs for the past 24 hours like I had before so there shouldn't be any problems related to the firewall blocking you. Please let me know.
  10. For all experiencing this problem it is not your machine, your browser (well mostly not), or your internet so please don't go crazy trying to diagnose it. The problem is in our hardware firewall configuration, I've made some changes and bounced the machine to affect the new configuration. If you are still getting the 403-error message, please let me know. The rule that is being triggered is what's called a request limit. Machines that DDOS sites make large quantity of page requests which all appear like a separate connection thus overwhelming the http daemon running a site. Modern browsers do the same thing but in a smaller quantity, they do this so that each connection takes a section of an entire page, and the browser rebuilds it to be a complete page, this is what looks like browser speed lowering the load times. The tricky part for us is all those connections can mimic a DDOS if your machine and browser are fast, which most modern machines are. If you want to see this for yourself open your browser and visit a site, for example Chrome and CA, then open your task manager and look at how many processes (instances) are running of Chrome. The rub is you can't control how a browser functions internally, there's no settings you can change to make it function differently. The only option is for the server-side to keep allocating resources to accommodate newer functionality. All that said you can download a lite version of a browser and they are designed specifically not to overwhelm your device thus they will have a smaller instance count. That's also why accessing the site on your phone works when your lap or desk devices have problems. Anyway, I'm sure this is all boring, let me know if I've gotten things right on our end and if your problems are resolved. E
  11. Strike Fighters Modern Combat = SFMC
  12. I guess the peace agreement should have included the Afghan Government instead of the Taliban if we didn't want the equipment to fall into the wrong hands. I wonder what big brain person approved that agreement? My bet is that once the evacuation is complete, we'll see a concert of air strikes to destroy the caches of equipment left for and by the Afghan Government.
  13. Size of the known universe: 150,000,000,000 light years - Circumference of Earth: 24,901 miles - Speed of light: 186,282 miles per second If you were traveling at the speed of light (186,282 miles per second), you'd travel the circumference of the earth (24,901 miles) in .0074 of a second. The human eye blinks in .3333 of a second, so at light speed you could travel the earth's circumference forty-five times in the time it takes to blink. If you traveled across the universe at the speed of light it would take you 150,000,000,000 (150 billion) years or 54,750,000,000,000 (fifty-four trillion, 750 billion) days or 1,898,734,177 (one billion, eight hundred ninety-eight million, seven hundred thirty-four thousand, one hundred seventy-seven) average human life spans. We still think we're the only ones in the universe. My brain hurts.

    Can someone ID this

Looks more like a directed-energy platform to me.
  15. @Atreides At any point all the nations including Canada could have said wait we don't agree with the withdraw of troops in Afghanistan. The allied nations were all alerted to this inevitability 18 months in advance. Trump signed the peace and withdrawal agreement back in February 2020? Why now is it so easy to point fingers and shift blame for your own inactions? There's dirt on everyone's hands including Canada or is Canada's embassy still open in Afghanistan? I don't know what all that other stuff you're talking about has to do with anything but people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. https://thehill.com/opinion/national-security/568154-trumps-deal-with-the-taliban-set-the-stage-for-the-afghan-collapse - No excuses here, the withdrawal was an uncoordinated Charlie Foxtrot, but the die was cast long before Biden inherited it and that's not to say Biden couldn't have stopped it. *Note this is quickly turning into a political discussion so if this topic gets moved, you'll know why.
  16. Did you see that on Facebook? I saw it also but it's an old photo that's been cropped. Facebook is notorious for this propaganda shit and has no accountability for it. Here's the original photo from 2019. https://www.facebook.com/1277752765614575/photos/a.2569455773110928/2570980672958438/?type=3&source=54 Today the Northern Alliance is on the Taliban's side today or probably more correct they are indifferent. The Taliban leveraged close ties to Al-Qaeda and used some of their fighters from Tajik and Uzbek Al-Qaeda to enlist the former Northern Alliance tribes onto the Taliban's side.
  17. The Allies should have never been involved in an Afghan Civil War that the Afghanies and Afghan government will not fight themselves. I’m relieved the bandaid is finally ripped off, there are bigger threats out there than 20 year old threats. All our nations can finally stop looking our children in the eye as each new generation deploys there. My biggest and most humble thank you to every man and woman that has put on a military uniform.
  18. The Taliban were started by Pakistan back in the 2000s, after doing a marketing research campaign on the general public. We went into Afghanistan after Al-Qaeda but the Taliban were in charge then and they are now. Pakistan is back to their old tricks of wanting Afghanistan through proxy. Not sure we'll ever do anything there with Pakistan next door. The allies forces dropped a shit ton of money into an endless pit. I think finally getting out there just had to be done. The departure was always going to be shit show.

Some reading 1) President Trump signing an agreement with the Taliban and now the GOP trying to flip the narrative. https://www.newsweek.com/gop-removes-webpage-praising-trumps-historic-peace-deal-taliban-1619605 2) Some valid criticism of the Biden Administration. https://www.brookings.edu/blog/order-from-chaos/2021/06/07/what-the-biden-administrations-narrative-on-afghanistan-gets-wrong/ 3) The 30,000 domestic troops had frontlines that were being starved of ammunition and rations by the Afghanistan leadership. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/13/world/asia/afghanistan-rapid-military-collapse.html Click to read full page

When posting to our forum please: Check if anyone has already asked the question you have and received a reply. Just as you wouldn’t repeat a topic of discussion right after it happened in real life, don’t do that in discussion boards either. Stay on topic – Don’t post irrelevant links, comments, thoughts, or pictures. Don’t type in ALL CAPS! If you do, it will look like you’re screaming. Don’t write anything that sounds angry or sarcastic, even as a joke, because without hearing your tone of voice, other community members might not realize you’re joking. Always remember to say “Please” and “Thank you” when soliciting help from others. Respect the opinions of others. If you feel the need to disagree, do so respectfully and acknowledge the valid points of the other's argument. Acknowledge that others are entitled to have their own perspective on the issue. If you reply to a question, make sure your answer is accurate. If you ask a question and many people respond, summarize all answers, and post that summary to benefit your whole community. Be brief. If you draft a long dissertation in response to a simple question, it’s unlikely that anyone will spend the time to read it all. Don’t badmouth others or call them stupid. You may disagree with their ideas, but don’t mock the person. If you refer to something someone has said earlier in the discussion, quote just a few key lines from their post so that others won't have to go back and figure out which post you’re referring to. Before asking a question, check the FAQs or search the internet to see if the answer is obvious or easy to find. Check the most recent comments before you reply to an older comment, since the issue might have already been resolved or opinions may have changed. Be forgiving. If someone makes a mistake, don’t badger them for it. Just let it go – it happens to the best of us. Run a spelling and grammar check before posting anything to the discussion board. It only takes a minute and can make the difference between sounding like a fool and sounding knowledgeable. Don't PM someone asking for help with questions that should be asked on our forums. RULE OF THUMB: If you wouldn’t do or say something in real life, don’t do it online either.
  23. Searching the forum can help you, as a lot of questions have been asked and answered. Here's a post that may be what you're looking for.
  24. In 2006 I watched Snort land his F86 gear-up at the Tucson Air Show. Earlier that day I had met him in the crowd and didn't know who he was. His passing is a loss in the community. If you haven't seen "Tomcat Tales" you should watch it. S!
