  1. The LODs haven't been fixed. The SF2 update was for the burners. Only erikgen can fix the LODs. FC
  2. Capt. Ward, Thank you for your service and for the stories and pictures! Great to hear more stories from the guys who flew the serious iron from back in the day. If you want to see how much the T-38 has changed, come on down to Randolph AFB in the next couple of months and I'll give you a tour of the 560th plus a T-38 sim ride. It ain't a Hun...but it's still fun. From one of the younger heads still flying in the USAF (at least for a little longer), salute! FC
  3. That's some funny stuff right there... FC
  4. See, 331KillerBee doesn't hold a grudge! He has no living enemies. At all. FC
  5. Don't worry Eric, we still think you're a douche bag anyway... FC PS For those who don't know...that's a joke between friends!
  6. "Youth and skill are no match for old age and treachery" FC
  7. Awesome Gunny...can't wait to make some more scrap metal! FC
  8. Also, if you have SF2, download the F-15 Super Pack, it updates a lot of the F-15s to SF2 standards with several improvements. FC
  9. Hey Hag, Tell you what...I'm an airline pilot and a military pilot. The runway stays clear when an emergency (or any aircraft) is on short final. There is no one in the way for an emergency aircraft to land. Any vehicles, even inspectors, get out of the way until that jet is rolling out. Once that emergency aircraft is rolling out, then you'll see vehicles on the runway, crash response, inspections, etc. The exception I've done is riding chase on Deuces landing at Beale AFB. But what the hell do I know...been flying aircraft for 20+ years. So, you can either give helpful advice, or you can leave. FC
  10. Yes...the problem with exporting with decals is the frame rate can take a hit (but it solves the bleeding decals issue). However, this can be easily circumvented by exporting 2 models...one with decals, one without. Use the 'decaled' LOD for your closest mesh, then the 'non'-decaled LODs for all the other versions. Assuming the distance is set right, bleed won't be noticed on the farther away LODs. It's a good workaround...allows for no bleed versions, without a huge frame rate hit since the sky isn't filled with them... FC
  11. The SF2 series does NOT require a weapondata.ini. FC
  12. I haven't had a chance yet...but I would imagine it's like any other mission...all text. Just my thinkin...could be totally smokin crack... FC
  13. And don't let anyone fool you...there have been several problems with UAVs that have shown the weaknesses in the technology. The magical automonous robot plane isn't going to be around for a while. FC
  14. Actually had a sf writer express the same 3 laws concern, which really makes no sense. Today's 'robots' are not aware enough to understand the concepts in the 3 laws. They're still basically large R/C aircraft. FC
  15. I've actually thought about it.... FC
  16. TK mentioned that he was going to put a 'flag' in the ini files for aircraft with data ini CGs different from the CG of the LOD file...that's what caused the 'moved' cockpits in the first place. Find that 'flag' in the updated data.ini's of the stock aircraft, insert that into the data.ini of the affected 3rd party aircraft, and that should fix the 're-moved' cockpits... Which means I have to fix the Northrop 2-seaters and the F-111s....AGAIN... FC
  17. You don't have to have YAP to have a drag chute... FC
  18. Yes, they have. Damn it. I would say the loudest jet noise I've heard was the sound of 2 B-1Bs taking off at a 12 second interval on parallel runways at Nellis AFB during flag. Me and a bud, since we weren't flying that day, decided to go out between the runways to watch. First and only time I've ever actually gotten physically ill from noise...and I flew the damn things! Surprisingly, a F-22 is nearly as loud as a B-1B all by itself...that's some serious power. The best flyby was at home when my wife and I are working out in the yard. We live under the base leg of the airport nearby, and so we see commerical and light aircraft traffic a lot. However, we were hearing a steadily increasing prop noise that didn't sound familiar...when all of a sudden 2 B-25s with 2 T-6s roared overhead at about 1000 AGL. My neighbors thought I was probably the biggest idiot jumping around my yard like a schoolkid, laughing and grinning like a maniac afterward! Coolest unintentional flyby ever! FC
  19. Oh lord...there is no way I could list ALL the aviation books I have. I have an entire room set up as a library just for books. My aviation books alone take up at least 2 standard 8 foot high shelves...at least... I'm not even including my paperback collection... FC
  20. EasyBCD is a VERY useful tool for multi-boot setups...works great for my Win7 / WinXP / Mac OSX tri boot install. FC
  21. http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads.htm Includes patches for the SF2 series and for SF2I separately. FC
  22. Sure, look at the Razbam stuff. Specifically, their newest jet creation (the F-102) is compatible with SF2. Just for the cockpit alone I bought that one! FC
  23. Payware or not is a personal choice...buying or selling. Nothing wrong with either choice. Now, just like anything else, there are good dudes and jerks on either side, so you deal with them (or not) on an individual basis. Personally, I won't make payware, because there is an expectation (and rightly so) of a quality level and customer service. I hate people, so I keep my stuff freeware so I'm 'free' to tell folks to get bent if they don't like it... FC
  24. Dude, lay off the ganga mon... FC
