SF 2 F-20 SKINS
James Fox posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
View File SF 2 F-20 SKINS Extra skins for Veltro2k’s F-20 for ThirdWire’s SF2 Series Only. So firstly you will need Veltro2k’s F-20 and Wrench’s skin pack and updated data files installed or my addons skins may not work. I have included fictional skins some based on F-5E skins and some completely fictional. They are: AGGRESSOR DESERT AGGRESSOR SEA AGGRESSOR GHOST AGGRESSOR SNAKE JASDF1 RAF1 RAF2 RNZAF1 RNZAF2 RSAF1 IRIAF ISRAEL EGYPT Also included is an updated userlist file. I have used stock decals, decals already provided by Wrench, some form Dave and Mike1, from previously uploaded F-5 and F-20 skins. Making decal serial numbers is very time consuming. So I have used the above and they may not be 100% accurate but they these skins are fictional and look about right. To install, just cut or paste, drag and drop into the correct folders. Good idea to originally extract download to a folder outside of the game first, then either add all or just what you want. Also make a backup of your F-20 folder and Decals first somewhere out side of the game so if you want to go back to what you originally had. Legal stuff, I have included a copy of Mike1 and Wrench’s readme files, but did not find one attached to Dave’s Aggressor skin pack. If you re-skin and upload any of the above you most follow correct protocols. You may modify any of my skins and upload skins but they are to remain freeware. Wrench has included a very large userlist so they are many countries not yet skinned. For example, take Wrench’s RNZAF Green skin, re-decal and it could become a Canadian F-20. Thank the TK, ThirdWire and Combat Ace for games and forum, without we would not have so much fun and a place to share our artistic creations. WIP F-20's

I am planing to add scheme call asia minor, or at least as close as I can get, which is the scheme painted on Iranian and a few other middle eastern F-5's. Pattern may vary a little, F-20 shape and F-5 shape very close but there are some differences. James Fox -

Thank You Kevin, but I already have your template, included in your first skin set. However I do not use PSD files I use Corel Photopaint and colour replacement. Now I have used your decals so far and one set from Dave F-5E SF1 Aggressors as place holders. I any thinking of releasing all my skins as Aggressors and those who download can do as they please with him if they want, they will be sort of generic. I have based most of my work on F-5E skins and just made up the rest to look about right. Check out a web site called Don Colour. Lots of reference stuff there. Making Decals is something I have only resently learnt how to do in Corel Photopaint, if I can use yours and Dave's then things could happen sooner. PS. I missed your second skin pack. PS 2. I noticed a member looking for A-4 PSD templates, I do not have any and again I used Corel Photopaint and colour replacement to do all of my previous skins. James. -
I support votes for Tie Fighter, Crimson Skies and add Mech Warriors and Heavy Metal Fakk2 . Still have my Crimson Skies somewhere, not loaded though. James Fox

A-4Ks rotting away in NZ news from few years back
James Fox replied to MAKO69's topic in Military and General Aviation
If we are invaded then we will throw Politicians at them. Plus the RAAF is trains over here with six to twelve F-18's from time to time as well. Something about our weather which they do no get much of back in Australia. James Fox -
Good Ole Games, I brought Descent 3 and Expansion, they run well and still look great. I also weakened and brought Redneck Rampage collection, well its looks dated but still great fun to play. If you have not played it, you will not have a clue what I am talking about. James Fox

Is any one else having problems with ThirdWires online Store? My problems is it that the site will not let me select my country of origin so I cannot enter a valid Credit Card details. Never had this problem before with Thirdwire. I do not have a log-on at Thirdwire's Forum that works anymore, I did to start off with, but never used it, then much later when i tried it did not work. Dan they are not mapped on any of the Shyhawk .bmp texture files in SF2 series. They are on the SF1 series textures. In SF2 series the outboard and inner wing pylons are only mapped once as well where in SF1 series the the pylons are both mapped as left and right. Yet some of the A-4h's can have rails on both inboard and out board wing pylpns. I believe that they are included in the "lod" files which we are not suppost to edit. I thought when I stated skinning in SF2 series that the rails maybe able to modded but so far all my attempts have not worked. What we need and I am not a 3d person, is a Single IR rail, like the TER, MER and 2IR. Then we could add them anywhere we wanted. James Fox

Looking very Good Mr.Wrench. Note there is an active volcano in the Bay of Plenty too not currently mapped called White island. Plus the Beehieve is missing from Wellington. It would be nice to have it as a target. I would like to bomb it from time to time, it would make feel better. James Forkes aka James Fox

View File F-4E _90_NZ This is my F-4E_90_NZ Fictional mod for all Merged SF2 games and any Standalone game that includes ThirdWire’s stock F-4E_78. Inspired by Spinner’s F-4M_89_NZ I decided to have an F-4E RNZAF mod. I had a Kiwi F-4E mod already right from the start but never uploaded it. Mr. DTM Dragon has uploaded a mod previously and many of these skins can be adapted to work with his mod if you want. However because most of the skins in this mod are new I have decided to upload and share. Over half the skins are from Sundowner and the rest by myself on ThirdWire’s templates and Sundowners templates. Decals are stock and Spinners and some by me. To install just extract and copy and paste the Aircraft Folder into the Aircraft Folder and Decals into Decals Folder. I have restricted the loadout a little, RNZAF is only small so not a large weapons arsenal. However if the RNZAF deployed overseas in a combat role we would most likely get supplies from American, Britain and even Australia. So you can tinker there if you want. I have added Mercenary skins as well. They are Generic so you can mod those skins into any Air Force you want. They are fictional and are purely for fun. Plus another Easter Egg Folder. One to go straight into F-4_78 folder and the other into the F-4D_78 stock folders, decals are all generic. Thanks to TK and ThirdWire for the great game and sim. To CombatAce for this Forum. To Sundowner and Spinners. This is a Freeware mod. James Fox 12/04/11 Submitter James Fox Submitted 04/12/2011 Category What If Hangar

View File F-4M_89_NZ Expansion Spinners F-4M_89_NZ. Modified by James Fox 12/04/2011. Added addional SKins by Sundowner reworked by me to fit the stock F-4M_75 Thirdwire model and some by me plus a little tinkering here and there. Decals by Spinners and some by me and the rest by ThirWire. This is Freeware mod. Very big thanks to Sundowner and Spinners for this mod to which I have only just added too and expanded a little. Plus to ThirdWire and CombatAce. PS. The contents of the Easter Egg Folder must go into the Stock ThirdWire SF2 F-4M_75 Folder, uses stock decals. This a bonus for those who do not want RNZAF aircraft. I have used Spinners ReadMe, well what can I do it is perfect. SPINNERS README:------------------------------------------------------------ McDonnell Douglas Phantom F-4M_89 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2:EUROPE AND FULL MERGED INSTALLS. This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire Phantom FGR.2 (F-4M_75) to give a fictional 'Kiwi' Phantom with markings for No.2 squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force as they might have appeared during the 1990's. BACKSTORY During the build up to Operation Corporate (the UK's military operation to retake the Falkland Islands) the UK Government were overwhelmed at the support given by the countries of the Commonwealth and, in particular, the response of the Australian and New Zealand Governments who provided ships to maintain the UK's NATO commitments and thus allow the Royal Navy to maximise the number of ships it could send to the South Atlantic. In the following years there were many reciprocal deals made and favours given to the Commonwealth nations (and even Chile!) and one such 'favour' was the transfer of 18 ex-RAF Phantom FGR.2's in 1988. The 18 FGR.2's, only recently withdrawn from RAF service, were ferried out to New Zealand (most still in their dirty grey camo scheme) during Operation Saddleback before arriving at Ohakea for refurbishment by a joint McDonnell Douglas /RNZAF team that saw the aircraft eventually emerge in a new 'Forest' style camo scheme and with digital INAS, upgraded RWR and new outer wing panels. Entering service with No.2 squadron in early 1989 (supposedly as the Karearea but they were always simply called Phantoms) the aircraft gave good service to the Royal New Zealand Air Force during the 1990's until finally being retired in December 2001 when, indeed, all 'Air Combat Force' aircraft were sadly withdrawn from service. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Drop the F-4M_89_NZ folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. Drop the SUU-23G folder into your Weapons folder. 2. Sprinkle the contents of the Decals folder into your main Decals folder. Do not just move the folder! You must empty the contents in. CREDITS BIG THANKS to TK for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 15/01/10 Submitter James Fox Submitted 04/12/2011 Category What If Hangar
