  3. So I have been playing around with the Mirage Factory F-18A. I Merged it with the F-18E cockpit and avionics file. Renamed it all to F-18C. Gave it the APG-79 radar and the 402 engines with uprated 48900 dry thrust and 78700 wet thrust. So my question is, with this amateurish cutnpaste am I anything close to a late block C model, or should it be called a F-18C+? And just in case anybody asks, no I am not going to release it, its just a placeholder and a bit of fun. Cheers Snapper 21
  4. Hi Planejunky Once you have modified the HUDATA, you are putting that file into your C:\Documents and Settings\?????\My Documents\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe\Flight Folder. And not back into the C:\Program Files\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2\Flight Folder and in the options file have mods enabled? Hope this helps Cheers Snapper 21
  5. F-5 Freedom Fighters by the Mirage Factory For the A and C versions, I cheated. I copied all the files except the LODS from FastCargos excellent F-5B cockpit folder into the A and C cockpit folders.   6. Hi Wrench Could you post your 104 ini shadow lines? I have tried this [shadow] CastShadow=FALSE ShadowLOD=F-104G_SHADOW.SHD ShadowType=1 ShadowCastDist=10000 MaxVisibleDistance=400 but I don't get any shadow???? For the drop tanks I added to the tank ini [shadow] CastShadow=TRUE ShadowCastDist=2000 MaxVisibleDistance=200 And this seems to work quite well. As for the bouncy nose on the runway, have tried using the stock cf-104 values but get pogo stick on trampoline effect.Have tried other values but can't get rid of the initial bounce, any idea what figures I should use? And a general question to those who have download the F-104C-10 anything else that needs updating that I have missed? Cheers Snapper 21
  7. FastCargo you are a genius! There were two engines number 1. And changed the shockstroke from 0.2 to 0.5. She sits on all three wheels now. Thanks for your help Snapper21
  8. Hi I have a couple of small problems with the RA-5C Vigilante SF1 and SF2 Versions. Also I get them in WOV1 and 2. Neither of them stop me using the plane, just would like to figure out whats going on. The first problem is the front wheel when the plane is on the ground, the front wheel is not sitting on the tarmac. I have tried to adjust the Rolling Radius on main and front gears but no joy. Any ideas? The second problem has really got me foxed. I am not getting any needles working on the second engine ie nozzle, RPM, Temp etc. The thing that is really confusing is the A5A cockpit works fine in all installs. So I deleted the cockpit folder and RA-5C Cockpit config. Then copied the A-5s files in renamed the config and... still no second engine gauges working????? I have also tried creating a new aircraft folder and copying in all the contents in, just in case that made a difference. So just wondering does anybody else get these problems or is it something with my installs? Cheers Snapper 21

  12. Don't know if anybody has come across this, but I thought this problem was caused by the shadow.shd file which I have deleted from the aircraft folder. Also have change the .ini file from [shadow] CastShadow=FALSE ShadowLOD=F104C_shadow.shd ShadowType=1 ShadowCastDist=10000 MaxVisibleDistance=400 to this [shadow] CastShadow=TRUE ShadowCastDist=10000 MaxVisibleDistance=400 But still getting the problem, any ideas?   13. Hi Storm and Mako69 Thanks for your replies. Have done some more searching on the internet and in the KB here(should have looked here first!), and as far as I can tell the wing pylons were for bombs or tanks. I think the four sidewinder loadout included 2 under the fuselage and as Wrench points out they were not used much because of the low ground clearance and damage to the seaker heads. So going with Wrench Air to Air just has to wingtip sidewinders and long range Air To Air has Wingtip sidewinders and wing drop tanks. Cheers Snapper 21

  15. Am setting up my F-104C-10 for my SF2 Vietnam install. Have added Starfighters cockpit and all looks well. My question is about the weapon loadouts for this plane. In the readme and on the web it says they carried 4 sidewinders, does this mean 2 wingtip and 2 on the wing rails? Most of the pictures I can find just show wingtip fuel tanks, so I am wondering if the F-104 in Vietnam had dual Sidewinder rails? Any help much appreciated. Cheers Snapper 21
  16. For the Mirage Factory A-7 A and B versions use the same fix as posted for the C,D and E versions Extract the following files from WOV ObjectData.CAT and copy into the A-7 cockpit folder in WOV 2. F-4E_ATTITUDE2.BMP F-4E_GAU3.BMP F-4E_HUDGLASS.TGA F-4E_HUDREFLECTION.TGA F-4E_PANEL.BMP
  17. Hi malibu43 Brilliant mod really enjoying Steel Tiger thanks a lot for all the work. One little idea I had, that I will try later, was changing the weapons system target type for the NVA and VC squads from Ground to Air and Ground. This should stop me flying so low and straight.   19. Hi Dave Have downloaded the file twice, and tried extracting the files a couple of times. Each time the F-111A aircraft folder only has a couple of empty folders in it. The rest of the versions seem to have all the files in them. Cheers Snapper 21

  21. Hi I am looking at replacing my Saitek ST290 with a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X PS3 (PC Compatible). And was wondering if anyone uses this controller and can tell me what you think of it. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-PS3-compatible/dp/B001DMUCAC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1244285667&sr=1-1) My reasons for wanting to buy this controller are as follows. Its cheap, would love to be able to spend £80 to £110 on an X52 but can't justify that sort of money. Also the Thrustmaster seems to have enough buttons on the stick. My set up at the moment is being able to select next air to air and air to ground weapon, speedbrakes, cockpit view and firing selected weapons. I want to be able to launch chaff and flares as well, as reaching for the keyboard in combat is a pain. The Thrustmaster also looks a reasonable size, I don't have the room to have a controller on my desk. If anyone has used the Thrustmaster, please can you let me know what you found out.   22. B-57G Canberra cockpit if you are using the upgrade by Tannethal you will need to copy the F-4B_Cockpit.LOD from the WOV objects.CAT. To use the original cockpit copy the image F-4E_ATTITUDE.bmp from the WOV objects.CAT RB-57E Canberra cockpit This also needs the F-4E_ATTITUDE.bmp from the WOV objects.CAT

  24. Does anybody know how to get the KA-6D to deploy its drogue only when airborne. I am able to make it manual but want the AI to fly round with it deployed.
