  1. View File Dassault Mystere IVA Cockpit (Ajundair) A Cockpit mod of the Thirdwire Scooter's cockpit, to create the Israeli-modified Dassault Mystere IVA cockpit for use with Ajunaidr's incredible Mystere IVA (Available at the Combatace site at): http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...mp;showfile=784 Mod by Richard "Pitts2A" Ordway, Thanks also to Frank Safrenek and Michel Gerard of Mirage Aircraft of Flightsimulator.com and to Thinus Pretorius for their invaluable numerous pics and emails about the Mystere IVA cockpits and images. For SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI. Complete credits and history in readme. Enjoy! Submitter ordway Submitted 06/28/2008 Category Jet Cockpits
  2. Very nice, please finish it...the more cockpits the better!
  3. Israeli Mystere IVA cockpit almost finished from the Thirdwire scooter cockpit: From multiple color photos. The sucessful Dassault Mystere IVAs saw combat in the Middle East with the Israelis and scored kills. It was France's answer to the American F-86 Sabre. It had two internal DEFA 30MM cannons.
  4. Yes, if someone wants to detune the engines toward a more realistic lower power, please tell me about or post it. I have multiple color cockpit photos of the Cutlass. Wrench's F-4 cockpit is a good stand in. In reality, photos show that it has just a black instrument panel and not the F-4 gray color. Someday, if I am not busy with something else, I might rework it to a black color and do some other cockpit changes....but nice job Kevin.
  5. The right grip was used to fly the aircraft. The left grip was used to work the radar and moved independently of the right grip. "(The stick) occupied the traditional center location, but was later moved to the side at USAF insistence in order to ensure an unrestricted view of the Horizontal Situation Indicator. This arrangement turned out not to be viable, and the control column was later moved back to the center and provided with a two-handed grip for both radar and aircraft control. "There were further problems with the MA-1 fire control system and with the cockpit layout. Originally, the control column had occupied the traditional center location, but was later moved to the side at USAF insistence in order to ensure an unrestricted view of the Horizontal Situation Indicator. This arrangement turned out not to be viable, and the control column was later moved back to the center and provided with a two-handed grip for both radar and aircraft control. The right-hand grip was used for control of the aircraft and the left-hand grip was used for operation of the radar. A button in the middle of the yoke gave the pilot control of the radar antenna, and another button on the left grip enabled the pilot to put the pipper on the target by following directions on the radar scope. The pilot selected the missiles to be fired by using a switch on the left console, with the trigger that was used to launch the missiles being on the right hand grip." http://home.att.net/~jbaugher1/f106_1.html
  6. I think I see USAF markings at the front and USAF tail markings. So it's not Russian?
  7. Good job Lexx. The F-102 had an optical sight according to the pilot's manual: So If I moved the gunsight, would it disappear altogether so that one could not be used at all? If you, or anyone else, have any more suggestions, please inform me. I would love to take the two moving map rings and move them down out of the way. I did move them and got them to just show gray now...but I would like even the gray rings gone so I can put switches down.
  8. That's correct, there isn't a F-102 out yet. I am waiting too. However, if someone wants to come out with an even more accurate F-102 cockpit, that is fine with me.
  9. F-102 cockpit alternative almost ready. I don't know if anyone will need it, if there will be a more dedicated cockpit option ,etc. It is based on the existing F-106 cockpit. Changed is that the tape gauges are gone, lots of new steam gauges are added, the radar has been reworked, bottom moving map eliminated, and the cockpit has been made a correct mostly gray motif as per F-102 color photos. I still need to ask permission to release it, if and whenever it might be needed by the community. According to the photos, it was really quite a plain cockpit.
  10. Fantastic! It's time for some Viet Nam action! "The F-102 served in Vietnam, flying fighter patrols and serving as bomber escorts. A total of 15 aircraft were lost in Vietnam: one to air-to-air combat..." Wiki "It was during one of these missions that an F-102 was shot down by a North Vietnamese MiG-21 using an AA-2 Atoll heat-seeking missile. The MiGs approached undetected, and one of the F-102s was shot down. The other F-102 pilot managed to shoot off some AIM-4s at the fleeing MiG-21s, but no hits were recorded." Wiki "Interestingly enough, the F-102 became fairly heavily used in the air-to-ground role. The interceptor was equipped with 24 x 2.75-in FFARs in the fuselage bay doors, and these weapons were used to good effect against various types of North Vietnamese targets. Additionally, heat-seeking Falcon missiles used in conjunction with the F-102s nose-mounted IRST (Infrared Search & Track) were employed on night time harassment raids along the Ho Chi Minh trail. This is likely the only time an air-to-air missile has been used for air-to-ground operations." Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-102_Delta_Dagger On the cockpit: Someone could play with the F-106 cockpit to make a more F-102-ish temporary cockpit. They both have the same general layout as they were based on one another.

  13. Hmmm, that supposedly happened when two Mig-19s were trying to intercept Gary Power's U2 over the USSR. The Russians got both the U2 and the Russian wingman with separate SAMs. So I guess, it is accurate.
  14. Ah! that is the (real Russian rubber) radar hood ...again for action both on the field and off. On the field so that the pilot can see the radar screen against the light...and off the field...I'll leave that to your imagination.
  15. Errr, blame the Russians. The "a, goi duk clam" avec des deux cercles rouges et une instrument pour des deux moteurs à réaction. When you explain "a, goi duk clam" to me, I'll explain "avec des deux cercles rouges et une instrument pour des deux moteurs à réaction." to you It was a twin-engine jet fighter with a radar as an afterthought. The instruments and radar are pretty close to where the docs show. The real-life airplane often had to be turned on with lighted rags being thrown into the exhaust...no joke (like in cross-wind conditions). The Russians basically just threw a radar into an already crowded cockpit. If you don't like it, make one of your own.
  16. Here is a pic of the Mig-19P cockpit reposition and repaint of the Thirdwire Scooter. The radar works. A Mig-19PM is also planned as it has differences as it is a non-gun ship.
  17. Great! So can you recommend an existing useful radar screen/radar screen template.
  18. Cockpit of 强-5(Q-5),frist picture is late Cockpit, and others are early Cockpit. sorry,my english is very poor. [/color] Very nice indeed! Thanks.
  19. "One thing about the radar. The radar screen shows the RP-22MA. The Mig019P had a RP-1 Izumrud radar. So the radar screen should be all red." Can you show me a color picture of the RP-1 Izumrud radar. Hmmm, so it looks like this? http://www.sanko.wroclaw.pl/apt/mig-19/kon/radiolokator.html
  20. [[i like it! Release it here as a Beta+, make some cockpit changes, etc. I'd say we're on track for winner here!]] I'm almost finished with a Mig-19P cockpit. Mig-19PM

  22. This looks great!

    Q-5D

Really nice. Thanks! One question, and it is probably me. In WOE, both with and without the Q-5 weapons installed, I don't get a gunsight reticle in the Q-5. Do you have any idea what might be going on? I do get reticles in the other aircraft. I rebooted WOE from scratch just to make sure it was not that. I also tried substituting the F-100 reticle and still it did not show up. Thanks.
  24. Thanks everyone. I just released it.
