Hey Snacky, Sounds interesting. But the link you posted goes to a "members only" url. Navy Chief So does your squadron only fly IL2?

Very well put, Dutchy. Very well put. NC I salute IDF, and the citizens of Israel for their bravery.

Hey Foo We went to the "new" place today to begin installing more fencing. Main reason is to keep out the neighbor's dogs. Mostly worried about our cats, but also other dogs going after my dog. Anyway, after putting up about 100 ft of fence, we were pooped out. Decided to find some day labor in the local area. I am not about to have a stroke, trying to put up fencing. We begin moving in on the 29th. Computer line and phone to be hooked up same day, but TV (sattellite) won't be possible until our house sells. Got a lot of work ahead of us. Not fun, but looking forward to more room in "new" house. NC

I agree with you, Foofighter! Bring on the carrier ops. NC

Perhaps the fighting will never cease. But terrorism must not be allowed to happen without serious and exacting consequences. The terrorists, in their warped reasoning, take innocent lives in the name of their religion. Navy Chief

I am curious if the SFP1 aircraft will work in WOV? It would be nice, considering the amount of wonderfully detailed aircraft available, and the hundreds of hours spent in creating them. Navy Chief

Nesher, I believe that Israel should eliminate Arafat. The man is nothing but a terrorist anyway, and is a symbol of terrorism to everyone in Palestine. I have heard remarks that killing Arafat will make him a martyr. Fine. Let it happen. Take him out. If the Palestinian terrorists go on attack as a result, then I hope Israel launches an attack of such magnitude, that perhaps it will end it for good. The time for any negotiations passed a LONG time ago. The terrorists will not stop until they destroy Israel. Since that will never happen, it is, in my opinion, a case of kill or be killed....period. I pray for Israel, and the innocent people who are caught in the middle of all this violence on both sides. Another bus has been blown up in Israel, killing 11 people. So much bloodshed by suicidal bombers. Palestinians bombers attack, and Israelis respond with attacks of their own. One big difference, though; the Israelis go after those responsible, but the Palestinian terrorists don't care WHO they kill. Make me wonder how much more the Israelis will take before they turn Palestine into a parking lot. Navy Chief

Now THAT would make absolute sense of things! NC

Hi Nick! Many thanks for the GREAT picture! Unfortunately, I cannot claim to have been on the Indy when this picture was taken. I reported to VA-15 in early 1981. I cruised on the Indy with the Valions from June 7, 1982 to December 22, 1982, and then from October 18, 1983 to April 11, 1984. Navy Chief

I know Mchale was an officer.....but I liked the show when it was on tv!! The character he played was more like a CPO than a officer! Navy Chief

A police officer pulls a Navy Chief over for speeding and has the following exchange: Officer: May I see your driver's license? Navy Chief Petty Officer: I don't have one. I had it suspended when I got my 5th DUI. Officer: May I see the owner's card for this vehicle? Navy Chief: It's not my car. I stole it. Officer: The car is stolen? Navy Chief: That's right. But come to think of it, I think I saw the owner's card in the glove box when I was putting my gun in there. Officer: There's a gun in the glove box? Navy Chief: Yes sir. That's where I put it after I shot and killed the woman who owns this car and stuffed her in the trunk. Officer: There's a BODY in the TRUNK?!?!? Navy Chief: Yes, sir. Hearing this, the officer immediately called his captain. The car was quickly surrounded by police, and the captain approached the driver to handle the tense situation: Captain: Sir, can I see your license? Navy Chief: Sure. Here it is. It was valid. Captain: Whose car is this? Navy Chief: It's mine, officer. Here's the owner's card. The driver owned the car. Captain: Could you slowly open your glove box so I can see if there's a gun in it? Navy Chief: Yes, sir, but there's no gun in it. Sure enough, there was nothing in the glove box. Captain: Would you mind opening your trunk? I was told you said there's a body in it. Navy Chief: No problem. Trunk is opened; no body. Captain: I don't understand it. The officer who stopped you said you told him you didn't have a license, stole the car, had a gun in the glove box, and that there was a dead body in the trunk. Navy Chief: Yeah, I'll bet the liar said that I was speeding, too. Heh, heh, heh........ Navy Chief

Oh yeah, hot water showers are the best. Only a few days remain before we move. Let you all know how that goes. NC

I am definitely looking forward to this!! NC

Finally, after three days, I finally have water and power again. Gotta tell you, it is something you take for granted until you don't have it. Once that water heater does its thing, I am taking a LONG hot shower!!! Navy Chief Ivan took out a lot of power lines in my area of North Georgia.

Now let me understand this. Might they be suggesting naming a hurricane after Ludacris? Now THAT would be ludicrous. I must say, that coming from Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, I am NOT surprised at anything she proposes. Navy Chief

If I could provide a home for all homeless cats, I would do so. NC This is one of our cats, named "Micky". We love them all.

Glad to hear she's ok. Keep us posted, shipmate. NC

I used to be able to make PC to Phone calls for free. Haven't even tried to do so for a long time now. I looked into doing so again this morning, and it appears that the Free part is not available anymore. Does anyone out there have more information on this? For a short time, at least, I would like to be able to make very brief PC to Phone calls, without being charged. Is this possible? Thanks, NC

Creepy, With respect to your comments, in my opinion you are wrong that the troops do not care who their CIC is. It matters a great deal. Navy Chief

Not only that, Dagger, but the price of the sim will go down. Just a matter of time. I have plenty of sims to choose from to keep me entertained until then! NC

If you are talking about an upgrade to the panel itself, I could not find it listed on the site. Thanks, NC

OMG!!! Pant, pant, salivate, salivate.... That promises to be one AWESOME sim! GO NAVAIR! NC

Hey Beer, From what I have read on SimHQ, it appears there is a new Vietnam Era sim in the works. That is all I could glean from the posts. Doesn't appear to have anything to do with SFP1. I would really like it, though, if the aircraft in SFP! could be used in this "mysterious" new sim. The detail and fantastic graphics will be hard to duplicate. Navy Chief
