  1. He's just demonstrating his right to self-expression. As what, an a$$h*le? Yep, Hello my daughter isnt here right now, but Mr. Remington is. Let me introduce you...
  2. Looks interesting. I hadnt heard of this one and have been searching for a good tank sim that isnt over the top, but not simply arcade. Since Panzer Commander, I've been without. This is on at Amazon for $20. Maybe I'll give it a go. The photos from the sight look pretty nice. Easy on the controls? -Jeff Hi Jeff easy on the controls - have to say 'Not entirely but not so hard to pick up as Panzer Elite (which is complicated, key command set-wise, with lots of two-key combinations...but comprehensive)'. Two reasons - first the key allocations are a bit non-intuitive, second the manual is Ukranian (I presume) translated into English, including such gems as 'Some sights allow carrying out the circular review [T/Y] ie rotating in a horizontal plane irrespective of a gun.' (description of the ability of some sights to scan horizontally, independent of the position of the gun barrel). Solid AP shot is described at one point as 'continuous [ie homogenous, solid?] armour piercing' To help with the keys, I made in Wordpad a two-row list on a single page of nearly all keyboard commands, regrouped somewhat into categories that made more sense to me, instead of the manual's 4.5 page table. In short, not as simple as PzC but not as complicated as PE. Tho PE's 'complication' could be said to be 'greater sophistication'. Ivor
  3. If you search for pics around the Desert Storm era, you'll get plenty in the Shamu scheme. Most had the basic tail art from that unit, just over the camo. I don't think there have been any decals made for this scheme for a kit that would allow you to work from. Xtra Decal did some in 1/72, but for the SAC scheme. XO38-72 Good luck.
  4. WIPs for the SkySpirit KC-767J package that was edited and released for FSX last year. Purely speculative... KC-46A 97th AMW, Altus AFB KC-46A 22 ARW, McConnell AFB
  5. There are specific training sim profile for this with a highly detailed airfield model so the pilots can train for it. Awesome skills!
  6. Good to hear Stratos. Looking forward to it, if you'll do the swap. Paint the terrain green and you'll have something like Vietnam.
  7. Nice trees, but there arent that many in Afghanistan and they aren't palms. They have several species of evergreen/coniferious trees that grow near the rivers and mountain areas. Is it too late to swap? I do appreciate the work though. -Jeff
  8. Nice interview, but it does make one wonder about the relevance of this sim when/if it's released. Today's devs seem to place communication/updating it's customer base as a low priority. Additionally, it's been seen that they make huge claims as to what will be capable in sim-X. With the lack of helo sims over the last decade (maybe longer) I hope Combat Helo is successful and meets player's and devs expectations. Maybe this year?
  9. Guess WoT has run its course for us, eh?
  10. The F-111 main gear door, as well as the C-130's nose gear door were huge barn doors.
  11. Yep, read this. I had the hardest time getting the alpha texture to take and would end up with black textures. Read the link and it should help you out. Good luck! Jeff http://www.strikingsoftware.com/forum/index.php?topic=1267.0

Unofficially got hired for a sim instructor position. Just have to go through the process when I get the Form 214. But its pretty solid. Location TBD, but NOT Altus!

The "town with a future" (as long as the AF sticks around), doesnt quite do it for me.

  13. So Confrontation is geared more toward heavy battles instead of Country vs. Country during certain period, which would determine what tanks get matched up? In the early war, the IS' and Tigers weren't around yet. Seems like a waste, unless I've got it wrong. Updated the game today, but haven't played it yet. Maybe this week.
  14. No offense Streak, but when is the last time a sim manufacturer hasnt disapointed you? ;) Accusim is good and immersive. If you tried them, I think you'd be surprised. I've got several of their fighters and bombers and enjoy flying. The systems they've replicated are pretty accurate and require you to monitor them throughout. While the F-4, 104 and T-33 may or may not appear, MILVIZ is close to releasing their F-4E Phantom for FSX.
  15. Sign up and post the news to a verifiable site and maybe win. Who doesnt need more ammo? http://www.bulkammo.com/rifle/bulk-.223-ammo#contest -S
  16. You killed them all! Nice work. I haven't played WoT in a couple of weeks. Kind of lost motivation to play with random people.
  17. Ok, so I worked enough credits/points to buy both the Hellcat and Easy 8 Sherman. Sunday, I went ahead and bought myself 1 day of premium in order to bring my points back up so I could afford to upgrade them both. So they are good now, but not fully. So, I've never been lucky with the T-34. After outfitting it per your advice, I've done dramatically better but not fully happy. I've been slowly getting credits toward the next Tier and am nearly there. So, what do you prefer? The T-34-85 or A-43? The A-43 has very limited guns (only Tier V, same as on my current T-34), while the T-34-85 remains a medium but offers the most range in cannons. The last option, the Su-85 is out of the question. Just not happy in a non-turreted TD. You have to move too much. Thoughts? -Jeff
  18. Popped on the Hellcat this morning, as it was marked down a bit. I had enough credits, so no problem. I'll outfit it slowly but wanted to grab it while on discount. I'm also thinking of adding the Easy 8 M4. Is that a good buy?
  19. Got the sim running. Was slightly taken aback by the graphics, but I had to realize it's age. I'm trying to find the best sounds, terrain, etc. Most disappointing has been the M/P. The thread over at SOH is old, so the attachments don't show anymore that walked one through the setup. Thought IP to IP would work, but I cant get the game to connect through to the net or the other comp. -Jeff
  20. Nice haul! Took the night off from WoT last night. Watched the NFL playoffs and some movies with the Mrs. The night prior, teamed up with pcpilot and we did ok. I think it was about 50/50 win/lose. We used Team Speak to communicate which helped out a lot. In fact, we were the last two tanks for our team in one battle and killed our fair share. Having that coop really does help. -Jeff
  21. One's own beliefs can blind you to the truth. No matter what, his skills as a survivalist were amazing.
  22. Great work on the terrain edits. This could be a nice diversion while we wait on Nevada or whatever. That photo of 1980s Bagram is very interesting when you compare it to now. So much change.
  23. Thanks Skate. I'll give it a try.
