  1. Link to post at Militaryphotos.net btw, later news agency reports say that the missiles are only training rounds..... whatever... surely a fancy way to transport them

  6. no probs for me, main link and mirror, all OK
  7. no eagle was killed over bekaa valley.. only one damaged by a missile which was fired by a mig-21 which popped out and sneaked up on the eagles 6 o'clock.. there wasnt a dogfight. re eagle vs tomcat performace in the game : both FMs are 2 to 3 years old, and not up to date with the latest changes and tweaks of the last couple of patches. the FM of the strike eagles is the oldest ( IIRC) the tomcat FM was made by column5 and is very accurate despite its age since he had excellent resources ( but not tweaked for the latest patch ).
  8. re: the origional question about external tank things.. all MiG-21 pits have a tank indicator light on one of the status panels ( on the right side of the instrumentpanel ..) which lights up if the external tank(s) are empty .. and if the fuel gauge for internal fuel is calibrated correctly ( they are, AFAIK) then the moving of the needle also indicates that the externals are empty cause fuel is now used from the internal tanks.... easy...
  9. errr.... thats a left-over of some tests... simply remove the last 0 to get back to the original 16400 meters.... or adjust the value to your preference... hehe
  10. "1.0" is just an example here, for a sight/aim angle raised by 1 degree TK's stock ini's use 0.0 for the F-15A and -2.0 for the A-10 thats because a negative angle ( A-10) makes you "look down", the result is that the CCIP pipper stays more on the area of the HUD bad side of that is that it sucks for A2A, the LCOS doesnt have much space with high lead angles and gets off the HUD fast Thats why the F-15A has an 0.0 angle, which is kinda a "in-between" solution. My latest avionics files for MF F-16A ( not released yet) and the F-14A ( still the old model) have angles up to 3.0 Obiviously I prefered to have a good LCOS instead of a "nice Looking" CCIP ...
  11. there are several entries which must have the same value : ( all OFFSET entries should be 0 in the Y axis or have the same value ... IIRC .... I forgot something about that stuff ...) AVIONICS.ini [HUD] ... GunBoresightAngle=1.00 <---- here RocketBoresightAngle=0.50 < --- you can adjust this value to "boresight" one type of rockets ------------------------------------------------------ COCKPIT.ini : [CockpitSeat001] ... ViewAngles=0.0,1.0,0.0 <---- here -------------------------------------------------------- DATA.ini [FlightControl] ... GunBoresightAngle=1.0 <---------- here ( to tell the AI where the gun aims ) [AIData] ... CannonFireAngle=1.0 <---------- here NOTE* * this is not a standard entry, there is a "stock value" (2.0 IIRC) in the AIRCRAFTOBJECTDATA.ini which is normally sufficent . THis value is used to tell the AI the maximum angle at which guns can be used ( or something like that ). Some planes with a high aimangle need a higher value than the stock number - or they never fire their guns = kinda "out of envelope" [internalGun] ... AimAngles=0.0,1.0,0.0 <---- here ------------------------------------------------ that's it...
  12. engine access hatches btw no turbine , this kite was piston engine powered
  13. no confusion, just studying all the fantastic possibilities of VF-111 tailcodes and ship assignments....

  15. indeed... they also shot some Locos with Sidewinders in Vietnam.. hehe
  16. only the D model had a real "modern" HUD, and perhaps CCIP..
