  1. Cuba (OTC Plus) Terrain

Cuba "OTC Plus" Terrain for SF2

This is a complete rebuild of the 'Operation Tainted Cigar' terrain, that originally represented the time frame of the Cuban Missile Crisis. While revamped with that in mind, everyone knows that I don't build terrains that can only be used for 14 Days. This terrain has been EXTENSIVELY expanded, and has operation years spanning from 1959 (the year of the Cuban Revolution), to the Present Day and Beyond, ie: 1959-2050.

This is a complete terrain, with many new/revamped/replaced/whatever tiles, and includes Stary's Enhanced Cuba pakage (meaning: LOTS of custom-made tiles and TODs). The entire map was gone over completly, moving/removing and adding dozens of new target areas and correcting errors from the original release. Unfortunately, I was not able to generate new planning maps, as for some reason SFMap kept crapping out on this terrain (volenteers, anyone??) My apologies for getting 'stuck with' the old ones.

The targets, types, and movements ini have been expanded to be as historicaly and geophysically accurate as (much as is, with this terrain engine) possible. See "Notes" for more on this. The data ini uses the latest (June 2011) structure. The Limited Nations statement is set to TRUE, reducing the players to those regionally historical.

So as not to conflict with any other Cuba terrain, this is called "Cuba (OTC+)" -this is how it will appear in your dropdown menu. The folder itself is called "CubaOTC". However, this terrain does NOT include the southern US (north of Orlando), Central or South America. Other than that, I think you'll find it enjoyable (no, DisneyWorld/EPCOT is NOT on the map, sorry)

A large number of Ground Objects are included; some you may already have, some are new or revamped versions. Userlists have also been genrated for these, where the user(s) was known and/or discoverable. This also explains the LARGE size of the download - sorry, it's the one way I know that makes sure you have damn near everything necessary to run. Aircraft and skins are NOT included. With luck, I've remembered to add the items necessary; pleas make sure you have the needed artillery pieces. (both sides, although a new one is included)

The map is 'time sensitive', with respect to the October Crisis; the IRBM batteries will turn on and off for that time frame. SAM sites are accurately placed, and for the most part remain active for the full duration up to Modern/Post-Modern Times.
*Shameless Plug: several country & era-specific aircraft/aircraft skins are available in the CA SF2 downloads section*

For those wishing to use this terrain on the old OTC campaign -DON'T. It will not work. A new campaign is under construction.

As expected, there are several Easter Eggs -- you'll find them if you look hard enough. (Hint: one's in the Bahama's)

Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations. Several cities and other physical features may also fall into that classification.

As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you read the document through after unzipping before installing. As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading. Please also read the standard disclaimer, as it's been changed slightly.

  2. Curtis Hawk 3 (Export), Chinese Air Force

Curtiss Hawk III, Chinese Air Force, mod for SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO installs

    == -For Pre-Patch (9/08-10/08) Installs -ONLY!!!- ==

This is a major rebuild of MontyCZ's Curtiss Hawk III (Export Version), as used by the Chinese Air Force in the late 1930s. It is a complete aircraft mod, with all the bits needed to just unzip, install and fly away.

It is a 'nation-specific' aircraft, and will not conflict with any other versions of the BF2C/Hawk III you may have in your game installs. In fact, as a 'new' aircraft, it'll replace any other version made from the original BF2C.

There is a completly NEW data ini, with updated FM parameters taken from a 'contemporary' aircraft - I disremember which one, but do remember it was biplane. As this mod was started early in 2008, I kinda lost track....

A new skin, based off the original but from a newly made template (by me!), and ID number decals for 24 aircraft is included. The cockpit, CA_Stary's Peashooter pit, is also included. It's not perfect, but it's mighty damn close, and works really well for this aircraft. The only mod to this pit is a I added my 'ring-and-bead' gunsight (nestled quite comfortably inside the telescope tube).

Full, detailed instructions are below in the "To Installate" section. Along with the usual notes, comments and general foolishness....

--YOU MUST HAVE THE BUNYAP WEAPONS PACK TO GET THE WW2 WEAPONS!! --
    - This mod is designed to work ONLY in pre/unpatched installs -those that pre-date the 9/08 & 10/08 units. If you install this mod to a post-patched game install, you do so at your own risk. Prop Flight Models are still a little "iffy" Post-Patch, and it is NOT reccomended you use this as such, in those types of install. -

As usual, there's the informative "readme" enclosed with instructions, comments, statements, etc, etc, etc, designed to speed you on your way to installing and enjoying the mod. Do read it....

  4. Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk, USAAC, Early WW2

Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk, USAAC Early War

-- Something for the PTO players --
    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. You try so at your own risk; no support is/will be available for such attempts*

This is a compliation pak of several of my 1stGen USAAC/AAF P-40B mods, recreating USAAC P-40Bs at the beginning of WW2. Based off Wolf's original RAF Tomahawk, now nationalized for American usege. This package contains 3 skin and decal sets:

    47th Pursuit Squadron, Bellow Field, Hawaii;
"Pearl Harbor Defender" -with Historical Markings.

    "USAAC";
representing the 24th Purusit Group in the Phillipines, Dec 8, 1941. Marking are 98% accurate - those units "closest" to the expected War Zone had slightly different markings they US Mainland units. There are 100 "plane-in-group' numbers, represening the 24th's 4 Squadrons.

    "The Sky Legion";
a fanciful skin based on the film "Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow". Just for fun! If you don't want it showing up, simply rename the textureset.ini, and delete the entry from the P-40B.ini.

The markings on BOTH the 47th PS and 24th PG are correct for the period. All skins are in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE. A new SF2 version of the original 'box art' hangar screen is included . New DDS damage textures. A destroyed model is included, as is the in-line 'CRSPRP' engine sound (very Allison like!) "Time in Service" has been limited to 1940 start year, and a 'guesstimated' end service date of May, 1941. They were all pretty much used up by then, and replaced by D,E,and F models in the SoWesPac. All running lights are 100% correct for this aircraft.

A semi-SF2 compliant Flight Model was "fiddled into being", but it does needs further fine tuning, as always, by experts. Even though THIS version is a non-exported aircraft, a Userlist.ini was created for it. Allowed Mission statements now more reflect the actual usage philosophy of the time frame. (no Strike, Anti-ship, or Sweep) The aircraft was designed more for a 'point defence interceptor', and has no provisions for external stores of any kind.

As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Original readmes, when discoverable, have been included for historical purposes.

  5. CV HMS Victorious, R38 by Hinchbrooke for SF2

HMS Victorious (R38) Aircraft Carrier by Hinchbrooke

    = For SF2, Any and All =

This is the aircraft carrier HMS Victorious as she appeared "post 1950s refit" until her retirement in the late 1960s. Originally released for 1stGens way back in 2005 and subsequently "lost" in the ether. Prompted by one of the CA members into looking for it, I scrounged through all my archive CDs (dating back to 2004) and actually located it. This will give our Fleet Air Arm guys someplace new to land on!

Some very small tweeks for SF2 (mostly to the radar statments for TEWS -but as she 'retired' in 1969, that's a bit moot).
As CVs are 'unvulnerable' in-game, her defensive armament is minimal (the same 2 guns that Hinch put on way back when), and mostly for show.

Also included, just for fun, are 2 missions set on the Desert map, using my SF2 mod of Skippybing's Sea Vixen. One is a take off, the other is landing. End Users ™ can always change the aircraft and 'mission date' to fit whatever aircraft pleases you. They are edits of the stock SF2 carrier take off/landing missions, moved to a
different map and using Royal Navy equipment.

As always, READ the enclosed readme for fully detailed, easy-to-follow install instructions. Hinch's original readme is included, for historical reference purposes.
With thanks to Hinch for creating this, so long ago!

    Enjoy!

  6. D.520 Tweeks Pak

    Tweeks for Veltro2k's Dewoitine D.520

This package contains some replacement files, a different cockpit, and a new gunsight for the rectently released French fighter.

Whats been done? Well, I swapped out the pit for something a little more contemporary (ie: looking like late 1930s/early 1940s), and didn't have side canopy framing. Some relettering and recalibration to metric units has also been attempted.
The machine guns have been changed to French 7.5 MAC, as seen on my AdA Hawk 75 and DB-7 mods, the cannon changed to the Hispano 20mm and round counts adjusted, all lighting has been adjusted and where needed, new ones added. The canopy has been switched over to use an animation key (shift/0) and not much else changed.

As always, its reccomended you unzip the package to a temp folder or your desktop to access the rest of this readme for fairly simple, easy to follow install instructions.

  7. D3A "Val" Battle of Midway Air Groups

Aichi D3A "Val" Carrier Air Groups Skin Pak -- For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO installs

This package contains a set of NEW skins for Pasko's D3A "Val", IJN carrier based dive bomber.

These skins are as seen during the time frame of post-March 1942, up to June 1942 (ie: Midway)

The carrier dive bomber groups represented here are:

    Akagi
    Hiryu
    Kaga
    Soryu

as seen on the morning of 4 June, 1942, during the Battle of Midway. These are done in the later 'green' color, as research has shown that the IJN bombers (in this instance, Vals) had been repainted to more 'camo-ish' color just prior (and for some ships, just after) to the Battle of the Coral Sea, and obviously, Midway.

They are NOT 100% historical; there are a few certain liberties I've taken. In other words, some squadron and flight specific markings have NOT been created. Although simpler in execution, it does gaul my sense of propriety and my bent toward "as close to 100% accuracy as possible". Such is life! :(

Also included are modified data, loadout and cockpit inis. The loadout ini uses the correct WW2 Japanese bombs, the data and cockpit inis have been 'metric-ized' to show meters, kilometers per hour, etc (like I've done for several other Axis aircraft). NEW damage tgas have also been created and included, for that shot-up look. My Hangar and Loading screens are here as well, for those that might want to use them.
(BTW: these are the same inis from the Pearl Habor Val Skin set, so you needn't re-install these inis, if you have the PH set)

The skin were created using the new template, based on the original skins, rezied to 1024, with all new panel and rivet lines; all new individual aircraft tail codes for 18-21 aircraft (depending on the ship) have also been supplied.

= IMPORTANT: These aircraft are designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, It has =NOT= been tested it in post 8/28/08 patch WoI, or post 9/08 - 10/08 patch SF/WoV/WoE. You use it in these enviroments at YOUR own risk. =

= This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package. =

His Divine Imperial Majesty, the Emperor Himself has deemed it imperative you READ the enclosed readme to gain insight on the correct Installation Procedures ... the Consequences will be Dire if you do not....

  8. D3A "Val" Pearl Harbor Air Groups

Aichi D3A "Val" Carrier Air Groups Skin Pak -- For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO installs

"Pearl Harbor Attackers" - The Dive Bombers

This package contains a set of 6 NEW skins for Pasko's D3A "Val", IJN carrier based dive bomber.

These skins are designed for a 'start of the war' time frame, up until approximately Feb/March 1942, when the paint scheme began to change from the 'light gray' to a 'camo green' for the stike aircraft.

The carrier dive bomber groups represented here are:

    Akagi
    Hiryu
    Kaga
    Shokaku
    Soryu
    Zuikaku

as seen on the morning of 7 December, 1941, during the Attack on Pearl Harbor. This is obviously the "start of the war" paint scheme, of the light gray. Some of these aircraft also operated over China, prior to the Hawaiian Operation, and wore this same paint job.

They are NOT 100% historical; there are a few certain liberties I've taken to make them more usable for a slightly longer timeframe than should be historically accurate (more in the "Other Notes" section below). In other words, some squadron and flight specific markings have NOT been created. Although simpler in execution, it does gaul my sense of propriety and my bent toward "as close to 100% accuracy as possible". Such is life! :(

The skin were created using a new template I created, based on the original skins, resized to 1024, with all new panel and rivet lines; all new individual aircraft tail codes for 18-21 aircraft (depending on the ship) have also been supplied.

Also included are modified data, loadout and cockpit inis. 12. Darwin (WW2) Update Pak

Darwin (WW2) Terrain Upgrade: For WW2 PTO mods SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-

This mod is a relatively simple upgrade to Edward's WW2 Darwin terrain. What I've done is added LOTS of new targets to the existing target areas, and replaced at least one airfield, on each side, with a repainted "desert airfiled 1", which is now a medium dirt runway. The 'new' target areas are enhancements of already existing ones -- I've just added some more things here and there to make it look a little more populated. There are a couple of new parked planes, based of existing ones, hex-edited and reskinned for their proper users.

This is a fairly 'target rich' environment -- there are plenty of items for strike and anti-shipping missions. It is also fairly well defended - so watch out for the flak.

It has been tested in SF, WoV and WoE, using their cats pointed to in the main ini. As the new objects will be residing directly in the terrain folder, you should have no problems. (see the CombatAce Knowledge Base for the tutorial on using the cat pointer line, or down below for full instructions)

New planning maps (all 3) have been created; only the #3 map has the cities listed on it, to keep #1 & 2 fairly 'clean'.

You MUST have ALL the Pacific Objects (ground units, ships, AAA, infantry, etc) already installed in you PTO version of the game; otherwise things won't be appearing. This is especially important for the ships -- make sure you have the barges (get both, they're needed in the GO folder), the Liberty ship, and all warships, both Allied and Japanese. Don't forget to check Geo's page for more WW2 goodies ... there's a lot of stuff that's usable (and used!) here as well. Hinchbrooke has some very nice Royal Navy battleships. <wink> However, you DO get a new PT Boat. The lods and skin bmps come from Edwards Solomons Terrain; I just built an half-assed data ini for it to add one more little ship.

It is also reccomended that you have installed CA_Stary's WW2 hangars and buildings. They have a nice worn green wood-ish texture, and look really good in the PTO theatre! I have, also, included the original data ini with it's terrain and water effects activeated (Vista user take note!! -more for you below).

I HAVE tested the map with both Brain32's tiles, and CA_Stary's "Green Hell'' mods; it is NOT set up for their use, and if you choose to install either of them, you do so at your own risk (not that anything bad would really happen...). See "Notes and Comments below for more". While they do greatly enhance the visual eye candy, there are several issues due to target placements.

As stated above, the data ini has been upgraded to the latest standards. Water effects are active, so Vista users beware...more information for you is below in the Install Instructions. See "Notes for Vista Users".

= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST, WW2 NATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WW2 FORMATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
== MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WEAPONS PAK FOR THE WW2 WEAPONS!! ==

Follow these instructions herein =EXACTLY= and you should have no problems. In essence, READ the readme!!!

  13. Dassault MD-450 Ouragan, Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña

-Part of an on-going series of mod recreating Central American Airpower

Modifications, and a complete reskin of Pasko's MD-450 Ouragan into those as used by the El Salvadoran Air Force.
This is a COMPLETE aircraft mod, with EVERYTHING needed to just unzip, install a few weapons (if needed) and fly. Included is Ordway's cockpit pak, fully installed.

The skins, from new home-made templates, expanded to 1024 x 1024, have all new panel, rivet and other details. The templates ARE included with this pak!! New decals for the individual aircraft are from historical listings. The numbers.lst, while included, is NOT active, to prevent 'running out of numbers in game'. It's just renamed, so it's easy to reactivate it.

You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the weapons in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, and in EACH weapons folder is a _data.ini as used by SF2. Unfortunately, as I don't have SF2, some experimentation on your part will be required to install and get them up and running. (meaning, I'm not sure how the numberation runs...)

This mod is designed for use with, I'm hoping, ANY weapons pak. You may just need to add a few things.

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft has been tested in Post-Patch SF/WoV/WoE/WoI. Be advised of the existence of some handling issues prevelant in WW2 era and many Pre-Patch (ie: 06 level) aircraft. Fly accordingly!!! It should also work in SF2 and later iterations - this has NOT been tested, however.

The original readmes from Pasko and Ordway are incuded.

As expected, the standard or garden varitey highly detailed readme is included with all the necessary instructions and so forth. It'd be worthwhile to give it a once over!

  14. Dassault Mirage IIIO, RAAF

    Dassault Mirage IIIO, RAAF

    For SF2, Full-4 Merged -or, at MINIMUM!- SF2:E and/or SF2:I

*Note: it should be stipulated at this time, that this aircraft mod is being released as a "stand in" until the proper 3 versions are completed and released by The Mirage Factory. At such time, my reccomendation is to delete this mod, as the TMF versions will be the correct 'body type' for F, A and F/A III0s as used by the RAAF*

This mod creates a 'stand alone' aircraft, using all in-house/in-game stock bits, to recreate some of the Mirage IIIO (F/A) used by the RAAF. This makes this mod slightly historically innaccurate, as mentioned above, there were 3 versions. This sorta kinda combines them.

You MUST have, at the least, SF2:E to access the MirageIIIC lods, and SF2:I to access the Shahak's cockpit. Therefore, this mod is truely, ONLY reccomended for a Full-4 Merged install, as the Game Engine will have full access to all the bits needed from the all the Object cats.

The 5 Skins are included with the pak are:

75 Squadron, in Natural Metal in the 1960s (called 75SqdnOld)
76 Squadron, also in NM for the 1960s (called 76SqdnOld)
    3 Squadron, in gray/green camo for post-1970 usage *
75 Squadron, also in G/G Camo
77 Squadron, also in G/G camo

(3 Sqdn not shown in screenie)
*note: squadron badge decal is active, when in Real Life ™ it was not, according to what little photographic evidence I could discover. A simple edit of the decals ini will remove it for the Historically Correct practicioner.*

As all markings are decals, it should be a simple matter for other skinners to create other squadrons by simply shifting decals around (Example: a NM 3 Squadron).

All new, 100% historically accurate* serial number decals have been created for all aircraft. Data ini edits change (essentially) nothing, but nationalizing the aircraft to Australia, and adding landing lights. A new userlist is incuded . The canopy is activated via an animation key; use shift/0 to open and close it.
Avionics mods add an audio-only RWR, and the Ground Mapping radar seen on the "A" variant, which was added to all at various times, creating the Mirage IIIO F/A. It's active on ALL, so just pretend. Loadouts are standard 3rdWire. No weapons pak is needed, and it should work with any/all/or none (ie: stock weapons)

*My research has shown that pretty much ALL the 116 III0s served with pretty much ALL RAAF Mirage squadrons at one time or another. So, don't be surprised to see some serials duplicated.*

As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs/requires/should have to make it a LOT easier to install. Also, as usual, the expected 'Notes and Other Nonesense' comments by me.

    Good Hunting!

NOTE: this pack became moot with the release of the Oz Mirage DLC package. However, this one WILL still work, some a little renaming edit to remove conflicting names, and/or these decals can EASILY be used on the DLC Mirage IIIO

  15. Dassault Mirage5COA, Fuerza Aérea Colombiana

Ok...we're gonna try this one more time....

    Dassault Mirage5COA, Fuerza Aérea Colombiana

    = For SF2, (Full-4 Merged Installs, at minimum, SF2:E & SF2:I) =

As stated, this pak will =only= work with a Full-4 Merged install, as it makes use of the Mirage5F lod from SF2:E, and the Nesher cockpit from SF2:I. Obvioulsly, if you have both of these, it'll work (ie: Full-4 merged is best!).

This mod represents Mirage 5(COA) aircraft from the Colombian Air Force, with historically accurate serial numbers. All loadouts use 100% stock, in-game items. The canopy has been activated via a manual animation key; use Shift/0 to open and close it. The data and userlist inis have been set to a 'single nation use only' type. Landing lights have also been added, for those pesky night flights. An SF2 style hangar screen is also included.

As always, easy to folllow install instructions are included; so read and follow them!

Let's hope THIS time, it uploads and downloads for everyone!

  16. Dassault/Convair F-114A "Mirage'

    Dassault/Convair F-114A "Mirage" (A What If...)
    -- For SF2, Full-4 Merged (Prefered) and/or any combination with SF2:E & SF2:I --

It =REQUIRES= a Full-4 Merged install -The PREFERRED Way ™, or at the very least, SF2:I for the various and sundry bits used herein. To, wit; the SF2E Mirage 3C and/or DLC3, and SF2:I for the Shahak (MirageIIICJ) Cockpit. If you do NOT have the minimum required game installs, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD, as you won't be able to use it.

This is a mod of the SF2:E/I Mirage III as seen in the SF2 "What If Forums", fully extrapolated into a production aircraft as used by the USAF Air Defence Command and Air National Guard units (supplimenting and replacing the F-102 in many cases, until the F-106 arrived a bit later than is historical). You can read the backstory there (with additons by me in the "Notes" below)

This is a complete aircraft, with 4 skin sets.
    The skin sets are:

    119th FIS, New Jersy ANG
    196th FIS, California ANG
    317th FIS, Alaska ADC
509th FIS, USAF, PACAF, Southeast Asia 3-Tone

Skins are based off the stock NM Mirage 3C, from new partial templates I created. All inis included reflect it's Primary Usage as an Air Defence Interceptor; however, all ground attack capabilities and mission statements are retained.

All new serial number decals have been created, extrapolated from the end-of-production run of the F-102s. The "FM" buzz number code is a real code, once assigned to Fisher P-75. I thought it would be fitting, what with it being a =M=irage. (a name it keeps, as I couldn't think of a good 'D' name to fit with Delta Dart and Delta Dagger. Delta Dirk?? Just don't sound right!). All markings are decals, thereby making it easier for other skinners to create other USAF/ADC/ANG/etc units by simply making new unit marking decals. The PACAF skin makes use of stock, in-game decals for the serials.

Basic armament is 'standard' for early/mid 1960s USAF Interceptors; the AIM-4 Falcon and nuke-tipped AIR-2 Genie. Sidwinders will load automatically after 1972. Alternatively, for non-nuclear missile carriage, a revamped (read: repainted and ini tweeked) conventional warheaded AIM-26B Advanced Falcon is included. For mission builders, there is a Conventional Loadout statement in the loadout ini. All A-G loadouts use standard, USAF in-game weapons. I've also supplied the AIM-4G from the GunnyPak, for those poor unfortunates that might not have it.

As always, the canopy is activated via a manual animation key. Use Shift/0 to open and close. Landing lights have also been added, as well as corrected positioning for other running lights.

As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop). As expected, the usual "Notes and Other Nonsense" section, that lists the changes/modification/improvements/whatever that Convair did when 'Americanizing' the Mirage.

Have fun with it!! I sure did building it!

  17. DBS Limited Nations Tweek

Danger: Bering Straits Nations Fix for SF2 series -ONLY-

Just a small package of 2 inis, that activate the "LimitedNations" statement for the Major Lee's DBS terrain.

This will now effectively "cut off" any nations for single mission play that shouldn't be seen in the region. Obviously, one would NOT expect to find Isreali, North Vietnamese, Belgian, Lybian or anyone else that just plane shouldn't be there.

The nations have been limited to the "usual suspects" for the region:

    USAF
    USN
    USMC
    RCAF (CAF)
    and
    Soviet

Nothing else has been changed, just the players on this playground. So, =all= the normal mission statements (CAS, Sweep, Anti-Ship, etc) are active as normally seen.

It's reccomended for use with the 2 updates that have been released for DBS, and you should have them already before installing this mod:

Bering Straits Terrain Targets Upgrade Pak

    http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/7684-bering-straits-terrain-targets-upgrade/

    Bering Straits Water Fix Mod

    http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/10787-dbs-water-fix/

While designed for SF2 series, it will most likely work in SF/Wo* 1stGens at the 08 patch level that can take advantage of the limited nations statement. However, this has =NOT= been tested. Those that do install to first gens, feedback is requested.

As always, a simple and easy to follow readme is enclosed -- so read it!!! You're actually only changing 2 files, but I'm from the world of CYA, so... READ IT!!

  19. DBS Water Fix

    DBS Water Upgrade/Update for SF/Wo* (08+) and SF2

This is a little package contains newly rebuilt sea and sea/land transition tiles for Major Lee's "Bering Straits" terrain, and is designed for use on the enhanced targets upgrade I released Nov, 2008. It can be used on either the original OR the upgrade. If you don't have the upgrade, it's available at the following URL:

    http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/7684-bering-straits-terrain-targets-upgrade/

What this package is, are all the 'waterish' tiles rebuilt with new alpha channels, thereby allowing for more water action to be visible (even with all that cursed ice!!). A new waternormal bmp is also included, for enhanced wave action.

It has been tested in all 1st Gen Sims (SF/WoV/WoE/ at 10/08 patch levels) and SF2 (merged, 2/10 patch, withOUT SF2:I).. But, as I'm on XP, I can't take advantage of the DX10 shaders....

As always, READ the enclosed readme FIRST for full, detailed instructions for BOTH 1st and NextGen sims game installs. It reccomened you read this document through before installing to either SF/Wo* or SF2 series, to make sure you know what's to be done, and how to do it.

Consider this as my birthday present to all of YOU!!

  20. Desert Pink camo for RAF Eagle FGR.1

RAF Eagle FGR.1 Desert pink camo skin for WoE:

This is a repaint for the F-15A Eagle that comes stock in WOE. Someone was complaining that they wanted a camo skin (ok, so they what they really wanted was a gray/green RAF - this was easier). So this is what you get.

--NOTE: this is for use on the STOCK 3rd Eagle from WoE, and is designed with the RAF mod in mind that I released a little way's back.

Like the lo-viz gray, it makes use of existing serial number decals. Included are 'lo-viz' versions of the fin flash and roundels, which, when all is said and done, were supplied with the game. I just de-saturated them to dull the colors.

It's not a real great skin, but it's for fun, so what the heck, right????

You'll also have some (between 60-70) nose art decals, too. Some are 'borrowed' from some of my other sets, some are new taken from photos or drawing of real RAF aircraft (mostly Tornados or Victors) that had a nice Desert Storm or Telic feel to them, others are brand new, many for fun and lots just because I could do them, and had the artworks available.
As usual, the standard semi-clothed or nekked female form is quite prevelant -so be warned! You'll also find various other types, since this is a more modern skin, from classic style pinups, TV, movies, anime, anything I could find to liven it up a little.

Install instructions are in the readme enclosed; it's just a simple skin, so no 'brain science' here :)
Remember: this is for the STOCK, 3rd Wire Wings Over Europe F-15A (well, really the RAF version) ONLY. The Mirage Factory's is just too beautiful, and I won't mess with that one!

    Enjoy!

  22. DH Mosquite NF.XII

    DH Mosquito NF.XII

    - for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE WW2 ETO/MTO installs Patched to 06 Levels =ONLY=!!! -

This is a mod of Pasko's Mosquito FB.VI into the dedicated Nightfighter version, the NF.12. This is a complete aircraft mod, with all the necessary parts to unzip, install and fly away.

A new skin, based off the originals, from newly home-made, resized (to 1024x) templates represents aircraft from No.96 Squadron, RAF. New serial and 'call letter' decals have been created/provided for approx. 26 aircraft. The serials should be considered 'generic', as I was unable to ID any as used by 96 Squadron, but they ARE NF.12 serials.
A new, WoE-style hangar screen is also included.

The 'radar thimble nose' has been added via Fast Cargo's Patent Pending Fake Pilot method; weapons fit and mission statements have been adjusted accordingly. A new avionics ini is included to simulate the AI Mk.VIII radar (more below in the Notes section). A new 'slipper type' drop tank has been included, so warm up those weapons editors.

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed for use in SF/SFG/WoV/WoE, at the 06 patch level -ONLY-, It has =NOT= been tested in post-08 patch SF/SFG/WoV/WoE/WoI. It has also NOT been tested in the NextGen, SF2 series. You use it in these enviroments at your own risk. =

=This mod is designed for use with the WW2 Weapons Pak by me, as it contains all the needed weapons (excepting the new slipper tank) . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era guns, bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package.=
    Reminder:

= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE WW2 WEAPONS PAK !! =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST, WW2 NATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WW2 FORMATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =

As always, it's reccomended you unzip this to a temp folder somewhere's thats easy to find. This will give you access to the rest of the readme for full, detailed install instructions and the Usual Notes and Other Ramblings...

  23. DH Sea Vixen FAW.1 & FAW.2

    DH Sea Vixen FAW.1 & FAW2 for SF2
    = For SF2, Any and All =

This is an upgrade/mod of Skippybings Sea Vixens, BOTH the FAW.1 and FAW.2 - so you get two complete aircraft in one pakcage!!! Such a deal!!! (Unfortunatley, this IS a rather large package...so, sorry!). This was done simply to make it easier for you, the End User ™ to install. (Almost) Everything necessary to unzip, install, and fly away is supplied.
Included are updated versions of the BunyPak FirestreakIR and RedtopIR*, and the drop tanks. All other weapons used are stock items (with the possible exception of the AGM-12C Bullpup -not supplied- which may be from the GunnyPak)

*=these are seperate missile from the 3W Firestreak & Redtops; for use only on the Javelin and Sea Vixen FAW1 & FAW2. This was done on purpose -don't mess with this!!! Seriously .. don't. All things are done for a reason.*

    Skins/decal sets included are:
    FAW.1:

890 NAS (w/one Sundowner bmp, edited by me, so as not to waste decals)
    892 NAS
    893 NAS
899 NAS (these all by Sundowner)

    FAW.2:

    766 NAS
    893 NAS
    899 NAS (all Sundowner skins!!)

Where possible, the Squadron Badge has been used for the paint chip in the Loadout Screen.

Data and loadout changes duplicate the hardpoints (on the FAW.1 only); one set is ONLY for missiles, the other is ONLY for use bombs and rocket pods. Other tweeks to the avionics and cockpit 'clean up' or replace a few gauge skins, a new gunsight and missile "shoot cues" were created/modified from others.
A "new" engine sound is supplied for the Avons. Both aircraft have SF2 stlye 'carrier deck' hangar screens, and the damage/shredded tgas have been converted to dds (hope they work!!!). Flight model remains untouched; it "feels" about right. Remember -it's a gunless, missile-only armed Interceptor, NOT a dogfighter!! Fly accordingly!!

As a bonus, for those End Users ™ with SF2:E AND with Expansion Pak2, there are alternate Data and Loadout inis for the FAW.1, adding the 2inch Micro-cell rockets. Usefull for hitting bombers, trucks, ships and other assorted annoyances. REMEMBER --these are 2 seperate inis, and you'll need SF2E Exp2 to get them to work. Instructions on how to switch are below in the "To Install" section. (these were removed on the FAW.2, so don't go adding them!)

As always, =READ= the enclosed readme for full, highly detailed, step-by-step install instructions. This package is set up for a 'drag and drop' style of installation -- everything has been divided into the proper folder format that SF2 needs/wants/requires. Of course, the usual "Notes" section for other important stuff; might want to read it, huh? VERY Important info in there... So, PLEASE read it through after unzipping, but before installing. The procedures for missile firing should be reviewed.

    Let's hope this one works!

  24. DH Venom Update

This pak updates the existing Venom FB Mk.4 to the latest patch standards. I've adjusted the decal positions, level numbers, and created a full pak of serial numbers. -- this is NOT a new skin; it re-uses the original bmps, just a tweek of the existing one. New damage tgas are also included.

This pak also includes updated data and loadout inis to add the missing drop tanks. All weapons loads are UK nation specific, as per the latest weapons pak. -- you MUST have the latest Weapons Pak installed for use the the weapons listed.

Also included is a mod of Kesselbrut's Spitfire cockpit, as this has a nice 'British' feel to it. Several of the gauges have been relabeled for jet use. Cockpit ini is included. (this cockpit is also used on my WW2 Vampire mod) -note: this pit is NOT 100% historically accurate, but is a 'best fit' for the aircraft. Gunsight mods have been included.

PLEASE -- READ THE ENCLOSED README for full instructions and notes!!!! -- PLEASE!!

  25. Douglas A-24 Banshee

Douglas A-24 "Banshee" Light Attack/Dive Bomber

This is a mod of Wolf257's SBD 'Dauntless' dive-bomber into the A-24 "Banshee" as used by the US Army Air Force, circa 1942 in the SouthWest Pacific/New Guinea region

This is to be considered as an "incomplete" aircraft mod, due to the non-inclusion of certain files. I've NOT included the aircraft LOD file, as per Wolf's wishes . See below "To Install" for a complete list of the necessary parts. The cockpit IS included, however.
You -MUST- have the SBD to make use of this aircraft, as you'll be coping files over from it.

The new skin, from a completly redrawn template, represents aircraft from the 8th Bomb Squadron, as seen in and around Port Moresby circa mid-1942. Serial numbers are suppled for 24 aircraft; these are 100% accurate AAF serials as used on Banshees, but I claim no accuracy as to if any of them were on the 8th's aircraft.

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, it is NOT reccomended for use in a post 8/08 or 10/08 patch environment, as the flight model will probably be a little 'squiffy' =
