Paul, are they squadron specific tanks??? Are the lods hex edited to match the skin bmps??? or are you just losing the entire weaponsdata.ini?? Sounds like something similiar to what I did to fix the Zipper fuel tanks (and carlo, if you're reading this...I haven't forgotten your tanks, just haven't gotten to them yet) Wrench kevin stein

Soviet/Russian LGB's
Wrench replied to Atreides's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'd reccomend getting a copy of Yefrim Gordon's book "Soviet/Russian Aircraft Weapoons since WW2". A superb work, with detailed photos, drawings, specs, etc. Covers EVERYTHING that could hang a harpoint. I have a copy! On pdf Wrench kevin stein -

Small correctiion (which HrntFixr got right!!) Durng the 1st Battle of Football City, Crunch was flying #1, ElvisQ, #2. Crunch's wizzo says somthing to him, but is never given a name. In Lucifer Crusade, Crunch and Elvis are in the single, remaing F4, chasing Hawk across the Atlantic to North Africa (via the Azores, Casablanca, Gib, Malta, etc, to the final showdown at the Suez Canal) The ADF Thuds look good! When the skin's finished, I'll post a mod creating an ADF version for those that want it...I know exactly what their loads are! HrntFixr, could you do a G as well??? Now, all we really need are the Free Canadian Forces Voodoos.... Wrench kevin stein -
malvinas for WOV
Wrench replied to mcodes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Since WoV dosen't come with the desert terrain (SF only), you're not getting the tiles needed to 'color' the terrains. There's a perfectly wonderful substitute here in the downloads section, Polak's newest desert terrain. I suggest garbbing that, and installing it into you Isreal and other 'arid' maps. There IS a new Falklands/Malvinas set in the works... new terrain map, new objects, aircraft, skins, whathaveyou. Your paitence will be rewarded! Wrench Kevin Stein -

I have 5, 6, 7. I don't use 7 for decals, as there seems tobe a problem with it NOT creating a working alpha channel. So, I just use 6 for everything. Not happy with the menus and interfaces in 7...just feels strange to me, and I don't like how it selects brushes. 6 is cool Wrench kevin stein -

Checking over some of the books last night, it's never said what colors they were painted. When I bulit the Wingmas missions in FA, I just used the standard 3-tone camo. I'd suggest either that, or possibly natural metal. Since Fitz's 'The Aerodrome' is a Free Territory, and him being such an Irshman, maybe a shamrock for the insigina, with "Aerdrome Defence Forces" on the fueseleage (like the old US Air Force tag) Perhaps both single and twin seaters, what with Fitz's boys helping taking out the SAM belts in 'The Circle War'.... EEEWWWW!!! fly around and not blow stuff up!!!! My god...it'd be just like....FS!!!! Actually, it would be kinda cool to just troll around the map once and a while, sightseeing. You could even make a 'Truckhenge' (albeit they won't be standing on end, but in a nice set of circles). We have ruins, the Pyramids, various thingamabobs. Be easy enough to do...just remove all the references to air defneses in the targets ini for the terrain in question. Have no weapons; remove them from each individual aircraft, both guns/missiles/bombs/fish slappers, etc. What I really want is some japanese monsters...I want a GODZILLA!!! (ok, I miss the Atomic Moth and Quetzcoatal from FA....) safe in his padded cell... Wrench kevin stein -
Where's the CVA-64?
Wrench replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
CV-63.lod CV-63_lod002.lod CV-63_lod003.lod CV-63_lod004.lod CV-63_lod005.lod CV-63_lod006.lod CV-63_shadow.shd plus the data ini, skin bmps, any tgas, textureset and decals ini ( these last 2 will not be in the object cat...these are in the GroundObjects folder), the main ini All these objects (about 15-18 skin parts, plus the lods) are in the WoE obejcts cat. They are NOT is the SF cat - just looked. Wasn't there a thread a C5's giving a listing of all the needed 'parts' to assemble/transfer the carriers over? You'll need WoV or WoE to get the Connie and her sisters. Wrench kevin stein edit: if you have both games (I'm assuming WoV & WoE), why would you need to extract it? It should already exist in your GroundObjects folder!! -
Weapons not showing up.....
Wrench replied to cj95's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Since I haven't gotten to those yet..... for any Canadian bird, you'll have to double check by using the weapons editor, you'll be looking for weapons prefixed with the word "CAN". ie: CAN_Mk82, CAN_AIM-9L, etc And you'll have to swith the attachemtntype= to "WP". Like Sag said, don't know why, that's just how it is! As for you Cursader, like Dave said, "USN" is the attachment type On any of them, remove all references to "NATO" - this acutally goes for all aircraft (with some exceptions, see the KB Weapons/Loads Editing thread for details), that are American Wrench kevin stein -

Wrench replied to Sgt.KAR98's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Allen, and I don't have as many as some other folks I know!!!! 98: please read the tutorial I wrote...it pretty much explains all your questions. And I'd also suggest a quick buzz through the 'history of military flight' sections, web-based or in a local library, to fine tune which aircraft go into what era. Some of us, well...we've been studying military aviation all our lives, so we'll always have a leg up on most folks. As to your Yak and Panther, both are post-war aircraft. Not affiliated with the 2nd World War in any way, shape or form. The data ini should give you a hint, as it states the operational years. You could slip the Yak into a Korea era install, but they weren't used there either. (although there is some evidence of a 15/23 shot down by a Skyknight on a night intercept -- I have the RG Smith painting of it) The USNavy didn't start getting their jets until 1947; McD Phantom I, early Banshees, FJ-1 (fugly sucker). The USAAF had them from mid-45, but not in any operations in WW2 (P-80, P-84). Remember, the USAF didn't exist until October, 1947 The only truely operational jets in WW2 were: Me-262 series Ar-234 series Meteor F.3 (we don't count the 4 P-80s that toured Italy in late 44/early 45...they were just demo models) History, history, history...it's all about history.
