  1. The IPB 2.0 Skins are incompatible with the upgrade to IPB 2.1 Thus....we are working on a new Forum Skin that is 2.1 compatible and I hope to have much of that done between today and tomorrow. Your welcome to view it by changing you skin to CombatAceMod2 but keep in mind that it is a WIP. Fates
  2. Well.... Gas Station Owners are probably trying to figure out how to make their signs wider. OH...and that Treasury thinks its a good time to raise rates..WTF? Fates
  3. NC, This is very true and something that I wish the CombatACE Staff as well as membership can hopefully change in the future. The numbers at CombatAce have more then doubled since the Biohaz days, but the communication and comaraderie that existed when it was a more closer knit bunch has sure seen better days. I think we all need to strive harder to bring back those times. <C> Fates
  4. Sorry about that....my bad. This should now be fixed. Forgot about that feature when I added the categories and the announcment was set to NONE as a default. <C> Fates
  5. I guess I consider Cold War Era as Post WW2 to the Fall of the Berlin Wall
  6. The interpretation of the person that's uploading the aircraft. ;) They can put it where they feel that it will most likely be found. Personally, I would put all modern day aircraft into the modern era. To me, this would include all F-16's, 15's, 18's, 22's. The F-14 may be the pivotal aicraft between these two era's and I personally would put it in the cold war side. However, it would be up to the interpretaion of the uploader. I didn't think that adding each aircraft as a category would be wise becuase I would just wind up with almost as many categories as I had aircraft. Cheer~ Fates
  7. I have added 4 categories to the ADD-ON AIRCRAFT cetegory for SF/WOV. They are as follows: Modern Era Aircraft Cold War Era Aircraft Helicopters WW2 Aircraft WW1 Aircraft If anyone submits a new Add-On Aircraft, please try to select one of these categories. This should help in the search process rather then have users simply rifle thru the 275 aircraft that are currently uploaded. Meanwhile, CombatAce staff will be editing the uploads and putting the aircraft into correct categories. If you have a link to this upload, it may change. This will take some time with the amount of add-on there are. I'm simply trying to organize things a little better for you as well as get the search function working appropriately. Cheers~ Fates
  8. That does seem to be a problem dont it? We'll get on it.

  11. TK has already commented that many pics may not 100% truely represent what will be contained in a final release. This news statement even has a disclaimer....but....can you think of a single show stopper as to why it couldn't happen? hehe ;) Fates
  12. Go some new screenshots up too.... SWEET!!! Fates http://www.combatace.com/content/view/1257/2/

    OK...couldn't resist this one.....
  14. I've set my Command Pad up for several tactical shooters, and I'm sure it would work with flight sims as well. I've bound keys on the pad to commands in game. This can be done with the Saitek software. Congrats on Winning!
  15. Great Post.... I maintain an Aircraft called N247B. It's a King Air 100 that we have dubbed 24/7 Biotch All of the above apply....lol <C> Fates
  16. As a civilian liscensed Aircraft Technician with Inspection Authorization, I believe there's only 1 mission of any aircraft be it military or civilian. That mission is to bring the occupants back to the ground safely. It's a shame that this brake situation was not resolved after the first couple instances. In the Civilan world, I think the cause and solution would have occured much faster. If this had happened on a 737 and it went of the runway and injured lives, the "SAME GOVERNEMENT" that armchair quarterbacks would have demanded a solution. I've seen this governement issue Mandatory AD's (Advisory Directives) that require a piece of paper be placed in the Flight Manual describing how Icing condition happen simply becasue 1 aircraft was lost and 60 people died due to the pilots inability to identify ice. The FAA is quick to pounce on these things. Whatever the solution is, it generaly cost the operator money. My opinion is that when something is going to cost the US Government money, they are probably not as quick to spend it....even when it will save lives. Like bad brake parts, added armor for Humvees, etc...etc...
  17. The Associated Press Updated: 6:41 p.m. ET Aug. 4, 2005 WASHINGTON - The front-line fighter jet of the Navy and Marines has suffered a series of recent accidents blamed on brake failure, exposing a problem that has spurred urgent warnings from commanders, military documents obtained by The Associated Press show. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8829186/

This is gearing up to be pretty awesome for PS3... They say you'll be able to have MMO and actually fly with this many wingman....wow..!!! http://ps3.ign.com/articles/638/638298p1.html Can I get one of these Carriers fro WOV? <C> Fates
  20. I would recommend WOV over SFp1. The code is much more refined...and you have viable carrier landings. All the SFP1 originally created aircraft will work with WOV as it it virtually the same game....just had a lot of work on the code to make it even better. I Think you could get SFp1 and do all the patching and such and it should get you to WOV code, but why not start with WOV to begin with. Hope that helps...I'll let Buff and the others chime in on more specifics. <C> Fates

  22. Id like to thank everyone that submitted entries to the contest. There are some great entries and everyone has done an excellent job in each of their creations. I apologize for the lengthy wait for an announcment of the winner. We spent some time debating the entries as they are so very well done. We have decided to award the Logo Contest prize to Tim Canada for his work with the Mig in the Crosshairs. Congratulations to Tim, and a special thank you to everyone else that entered the contest from your CombatAce Staff. Cheers~ Fates
