The Squadronlist and you
Gocad replied to Gocad's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Try simmerspaintshop.com...I found a number of them in their downloads section section. One of them will grace my Soviet Spitfire skin. Thanks for the tip, Wrench! -
According to CNN the pilots have been rescued.

They will have as much to say about it as India had when the US sold F-16s to Pakistan.

If you merge the squadronlists (I wonder whether TK did a new one for WOI) you would have to rename several decals, too. And that's were the real fun begins. -

Exactly. With regard to the skins I have uploaded it doesn't really matter which number is assigned to a squadron, but you have to rename the decals yourself in order to get the proper squadroncode. -

I have come to accept that basically everyone has a different squadronlist. This isn't really a problem, but it sure does require some attention when one adds the squadrons. As an example (from my readme for the High Altitude scheme): [squadronXAX] Name=124RAF DisplayName=No. 124 Squadron Nation=RAF [squadronXBX] Name=131RAF DisplayName=No. 131 Squadron 'County of Kent' Nation=RAF You add these squadrons to your squadronlist and [squadronXAX] becomes [squadron123]. Now you have to open the decal folder and search for the tga file name RAF_sqXAX and rename it to RAF_sq123. That's how it works. I don't find this to be very difficult, but others may have a different opinion...you never know. -

The Tempest V was powered by a Napier Sabre engine. ...that doesn't look like a radial engine to me.
-
Uhm, I think the Tempest II (powered by a radial engine) was faster than the Tempest V.

Well, my two cents here would be that I do not think that flak should be upgraded to extent where it frequently blows you out of the sky. The damage modelling in-game in conjunction with the mission requirements isn't really perfect anyway. Besides, think about the capabilities of an AAA gun and the target it is shooting at. The big bore AAA guns don't shoot at a specific aircraft, they fire at an area. Interesting. Have I mentioned that I have done decals not only for Spitfire units...?

'startnumber=0' is your friend. Because '[decalname]000' is the first decal on the numbers.lst -
Hello there! I'm currently working on a few Spitfire skins, but to work properly they do require an edited squadronlist. Since I want to make the install as simple as possible it would be nice for me to know whether you have an edited squadronlist (read: with additional units added) or not. I'm asking this question because I do remember to have read not only that some members here have edited their squadronslist, but also that the SF and WOV/WOE squadronlists are different. That reminds me, I do not have SF, thus I would be nice if someone who has it could tell me how many units the SF squadronlist contains. I may be wrong here, but it seems to me that no other 3rd party skin does make use of the squadronlist at all, thus I would not be surprised if some here do not even know what it does or where it's located. Please participate in the poll even when you have no interest in downloading the skins I'm currently working on. Furthermore, if you have edited your squadronlist, please post here how many units your list does contain now. Thank you for your attention!
