  3. Well, I have already worked on the decal locations... That's exactly what I intend to do. In fact I do have devised a scheme that would allow to use one basic skin for various squadrons, just like the TW skins do. The problem I see here, however, is that this would make the installation of such a skin a bit more work-intensive, since in order to work it would require that one does not only edit his squadronlist, but would also have to rename the squadroncode decals. Actually that is what is holding me back right now to upload my MTO skins. To illustrate what I just said: All Spitfires there use the same skin.
  4. You should check out the thread I mentioned on the previous page.
  5. It might also lead to more frequent crashes when you press Alt-N.
  6. I'm willing to do articles about adding carriers to campaigns or terrain or about the use of the Squadronlist.
  7. What? Just 70000 ft? I guess you need to try harder.... 95000 ft with a MiG-25PD.
  8. Ok, second round: Basic RAF ETO skin, Spit VIII of 91 Sqn RAF. Needs a few more details and I will also do some invasion stripes for it. Basic RAF MTO skin, Spit VIII of 145 Sqn RAF. This one is as good as done, I just need to figure how what to do with the decals. USAAF MTO skin, Spit VIII, belonging to the 308th FS. Individual aircraft decal position needs to fixed, otherwise same as above. Second version of my Malta skin. This one is finished, I will probably upload it tomorrow.
  9. Yeah, the pictures in my first post are hosted ar Imageshack. One more: This is basically my version of the RAF ETO scheme, with markings of 91 Sqn RAF, which was given the name 'Nigeria' because the loyal subjects there had donated money so that the RAF could pay for these Spitfires. (And yes, I did forget the finflash. It's called WiP for a reason, right? )
  10. Well, Wrench was so kind and gave me his Spitfire template (thanks!), which I put to good use immediately: That's a skin for a Mark VB Trop of 249 Sqn RAF. Stationed at Malta these Spitfires had an improvised paint job that paid tribute to the fact they operated over water most of the time. That's a skin for a Mark VIIIC of 131 Sqn RAF. This paint job was used on Spitfires tasked with high altitude operations. That's obviously a Mark VIIIC in American service. Once it's finished it will bear the markings of the 308th FS. There is still some work to do (decals for example ) and there are more Spitfire skins to come. Some of them will be skins for the foreign users of the Spitfire (Denmark, Greece, Norway, Russia and a few others). Spitfire models covered will be the V (incl. LF & Trop) series and the VIII. The Mark VIII will also be used as stand-in for the IX, which is not available. (Although Wrench may say otherwise. ) The VIII was the better model anyway. And I'm open to suggestions, praise and other comments.
  11. Yes, there are such files in the folder. (At least in mine.) Btw, the Desert_airfield.ini files are also in the VietnamSEA and germanyCE cat files.
  12. Flyboys? Anyway, I forgot one, which is a rather recent film. Dark Blue World, a film about Czech pilots that flew with the RAF during WWII. Not exactly an action film, but it has some decent Spitfire action.
  13. No, that F-104 was just part of an experiment how high an aircraft could go in-game. I gave up after I managed to get up to 2000000 ft. For more information see this thread (link)
  14. Damn, I guess that disqualifies my F-104R model....
  15. F-4/RF-4 MIG-21 and F-8/RF-8 The F-4 is a perfect choice, since it had/has numerous users and did take part in several conflicts around the world The same could be said about the MIG-21 and including it would offer the option of some serious Red vs. Blue action. The F-8? Well, I want it. End of story.
  16. Indeed. Hmmm...Crusader Ferris skin.
  17. Hmmm, I just checked the weapondata and realized that the MaxLaunchvalue is in kilometers and no nautical miles. Bummer. Btw, the Tomahawk has a MaxLaunchRange of 1100 km. SayWhat is right, the main obstacle to have it hit its target is the terrain. But the WOE terrain is rather flat (if you ignore the south with the Alps), so that would be my the preferred target terrain. I don't like using the tomahawk, because I can't stand the look of one being mounted on a fighter aircraft.
  18. Well, I did took the liberty to redraw the front line of Edward's North Africa map for a campaign. Friendly/EnemyBase does not need to be an airbase, any target area will do. I do think that the front line points are supposed to start at 000000,x (or vice versa), depending whether you want to North-South or East-West separation and end at 999999,y. The StartShow/EndShow values mean that if you have, let's say 16 positions, the front line will only be shown from position 4 to 12. Hope this helps somehow...
  19. Hells Angels The Dambusters Battle of Britain Tora! Tora! Tora! Final Countdown Top Gun / Hot Shots Iron Eagle II (no annoying kid & Phantoms as MIGs = perfect!) Flight of the Intruder
  20. Are SRAMs also an option? I usually have a hard time not to use them when flying the Aardvark.
  21. they are called 'Canards' looks good btw.
