  1. Looks like Captain Phillips tried to escape. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7993765.stm And this can end badly, French hostage was killed when the French military made a move on the pirates. Although four others were saved. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/7994201.stm My thoughts are with this Captain Phillips, hope this can be resolved asap.
  2. Yikes, I really envie some of you guys. I can just imagine going to a cafe in say, Italy or Greece... All I can say is that NYC was a great trip for me. Manhattan is beautiful!
  3. The Force is strong in this one.
  4. That is the one good news. You know, I used to have the hardest time warping my head around how some people can commit these evil acts. I'd think, surely they can't be that bad or deep down they must be good. Until I started comparing people's minds with computer programs. Then it all became clear. Some programs work perfectly and are very useful. Others are a little buggy, not too stable, but may be fixed with some reprogramming. Others are viruses, plain and simple. With a sole purpose to cause harm. Those must be quarantined or better yet, permanently deleted.
  5. I think you're right about that. This is what one physics dude had to say about it. "The pilot mostly hears the engine via vibrations through the aircraft's body, so it doesn't matter what the speed is. From what I've read, there's no abrupt change in the sound of the air going past the air craft, but note that a shock wave is generated at the leading edge (or point) of the aircraft, and that the cockipt is within the boundaries of this shock wave. The shock wave accelerates the air, so much of the relative air flow with the aircraft within the shock wave boundaries is sub-sonic." But I don't know how competent he is, here's the discussion: http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=237410
  6. A more subtle exhauste trail is a great idea Laton. It's these little details that make all the difference.
  7. Yes, of course. Reminds me of how the English Spitfire pilots would make fun of the P-47 Jug when it first arrived on the scene. And we all know how well the 'Jug' later performed in combat. I still say most Russian a/c look like lawn mowers with wings.
  8. lindr2 don't take this the wrong way, but gawd there's something butt ugly about Russian planes. Except for the MiG-29 and Su-27, in fact the curves on the Su-27 makes it the most sexy of all fighters. Of course this is just my opinion.
  9. Windows Outreach Team? They're not kidding about the Outreach part eh...

    Three books....

Viggen, you probably know about this, but just in case you didn't; What I do is type in google '*name of book* amazon' and read the reviews. In fact, before buying any books now I do this first. You know what they say about opinions... but still, it can give you a rough idea if a book sucks or not. All three of your books scored very high reviews (although only one person reviewed Smoke Trails). http://www.amazon.com/F-15-Eagle-Engaged-s...n/dp/1846031699 http://www.amazon.com/Grumman-F-14-Tomcat-...s/dp/0760325766 http://www.amazon.com/Smoke-Trails-Last-Ph...x/dp/1857802624
