I got this sim ages ago, I had to as it is developed from rowans original (just wish the same company could do the same for mig alley) simply a fantastic sim, as a rl pilot I can say flight dynamics seem well modelled i.e. the aircraft will bite if mis handled and depart in a realistic manner, the A.I. is very smart, sometimes you think it's another human on a multiplayer session, if you manage to shoot something down you know you deserved the kill, The graphics are v good and will run pretty well on full with an average machine, there are some cute features like looking out the side of the cockpit (this feature is awesome used with track ir) NFG's description of the feature is spot on, I can almost feel the wind through her hair too but seriously if I had hair I would feel it too U.I. is pretty good too with loads of settings to change, I could go on.

Mirage 111R anyone?
Bongodriver replied to gregair's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Yes, I understood that, I was replying to Silverbolts post, he seemed confused by the reference to a Mirage 111R when it should have been Mirage IIIR. To answer your original question: personally no, haven't heard if one is in the works. -
Mirage 111R anyone?

Try Googling a Mirage IIIR, there are actually quite alot of pictures. -
Hi Killer and welcome, In most cases the add ons come with a 'readme' file and again in most cases these readme's explain clearly if there is a requirement for any other add on, the weapons packs are a good start if you want some of the add on aircraft to carry the correct weapons, most of the time though the add ons can be a stand alone, prepare yourself for alot of trial and error while you get used to customising any of the series of games and try not to overload the forum with questions, not that we don't like helping (quite the contrary) it's just alot of very smart people have taken time an effort to set up a knowledge base to try and answer some of the most asked questions. p.s. if you download the EF-2000 Typhoon then please be patient, there are issues with it and wings over europe as it was built for wings over israel, the full functionality of it will come when the patches for the rest of the series are released, in the mean time you will find a few threads here relating to getting around these issues.

make it fly!
Bongodriver replied to JesterV2's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Damn, that is another one I am working on too!! -
Yep, I had this problem when I was building the Typhoon, noticed it quickly and corrected it, it is in the 3d model the fix must be made, as amokfloo said the reflection is calculated from the pivot of the mirror mesh, in my case I had forgotten to reset the axis on the mirror I had (excuse the pun) 'mirrored'.

How could you miss it, no one else did Yes, the weather can get a little limiting on flying prospects in Dec, and it's close to my birthday, the prospects of finding me sober will be the other challenge, Kent is the south east county closest to france, parts of it merge into London, not a difficult journey to get to the airfield from londinium.

AV-8B Harrier II plus
Bongodriver replied to bobrock's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Exellent work bobrock!!! I love the pit. If you don't mind I had planned to make a big wing Harrier myself, not for the sake of competition, I just love building cool planes. Great work!! -
Well it is a six of one half a dozen of the other question, yes most of the time animations are built into the LOD, but it is possible to get animations purely through ini edit's too, either way it is better that you are well aquainted with the Max model even if you animate purely through the ini, you need to know how pivot axes are set up in the model and mesh names etc.... Try to be patient if no one answers immediately, not all questions have answers so readily availlable. Hope this helps sloghtly

Creating Decals...
Bongodriver replied to Piecemeal's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hi Ultramax, There is a freeware paint programme I use alot, it's FREE 100% and it can do anything a potential skinner or decal creator might need it's called paint.net and it's easy to use, I don't have any association with them, but I have been pushing this software as much as I can, the reason being you said you don't have PSP, you don't need to buy PSP because this software if free, did I mention it's free -
Funny, none of my reference photos show a 'bulge' on the left side, but there is a venturi probe on XR219, but no other prototype had this probe, I believe it was just placed for the first series of testing, any additional probes and bumps are being added as the model progesses, all these screens show an aircraft still very much WIP.
