  1. My experiences in-game are the opposite. The Shrike is about 35-40% effective, the STARM almost 75%.
  2. Brain32, CA_Stary...you've both left me no other choice. I feel compelled to use the "S" word......................Superb!
  3. TK has stated at Thirdwire's site that he will patch SF/WoV/WoE to incorporate many of the refinements that he introduced with WoI. This is something that he has always done in the past, bringing existing titles up to parity with his latest release. However, I strongly doubt that he'll do anything to improve the appearance of older terrain sets contained in those aforementioned sims, beyond possibly adding better shader effects.

  5. I've answered you and provided the requested data in this thread, here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=141323
  6. It's considered bad manners to ask the same question repeatedly, and especially so in other people's threads. You'll find that most of our members are quite helpful, and would have probably been more receptive to your queries, if you had simply started your own thread and asked your question(s) there. The Mirage Factory has an F-18 that sports an upgraded avionics suite featuring a HUD modified to SP4 standards, in their Megapack.
  7. Do you want one, Kreelin? I'll to research it to get an idea as to what an F-4's stall tone sounded like.
  8. Marcelo's Su-33 WIP: http://forum.combatace.com/uploads/1204818...43_16666406.wmv
  9. Really? Fake canards? That's news to me... Movable and aerodynamically viable canards have been possible in this series since the beginning. That's true, JM. However, due to the limitations of the SF engine, sophisticated FBW systems aren't really possible to model. I've sent Marcelo an FM for his Su-33 some time ago that featured canards that opposed the stabs, and found that I had to limit the min and max deflection angles to make them workable. Despite this limitation, the canards impart a level of smoothness and therefore make the the Su-33 model an unalloyed delight to fly during a carrier approach!
  10. Admittedly a bit cheesey, but hey, the ini files and effects date back three years. At least the missile sound works.... http://forum.combatace.com/uploads/1204479..._43_3505640.wmv UPDATE: We have ICBMs! Too bad they fly off the map....lost track of them at 30,000+ meters altitude, and they were still climbing! http://forum.combatace.com/uploads/1204479..._43_4975475.wmv
  11. Try this trick. Add 1 quart of ATF to your crankcase. Start the engine, allow it to warm up, and drive around for an hour or so, but do not let the RPMs exceed 1800 (in other words, don't drive at highway speeds). Then, drain the crankcase, replace the oil filter, refill the crankcase with fresh oil, and your lifter tap will hopefully be gone. Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) has a high detergent content, and will aid in clearing out sludge and small particulates from oil galleys and lifters. BTW, is this the carbureted 170-180 HP 305 (5.0) HO mill, as used in some Z/28 Camaros and the Monte Carlo SS from 1983-88? If so, then it is probably not a "soft cam" issue.
  12. That's been in the UberAI mod now for well over two years.....
  13. It won't work, as all the .ini file does is make a specific call out to variables contaiined within the aircraftobject.dll. And copying that .dll to another title will not work, either.
  14. IIRC, the files you're asking about are *.tod files. The terrain data.ini simply tells the system which alpha object (*.tga) to use with a particuler tile, and has nothing to do with the alpha object's actual placement.
  15. Now, just visualize this: Hrnfixr jogs in place, wearing a jump-suit and crash helmet, while an off-camera announcer says "And now, Hrntfixr will graphically demonstrate how he earned his title." He then jogs up to a nest of Giant Japanese Hornets (http://www.japanprobe.com/?p=2764), and proceeds to poke a sharp stick into the nest, while yelling "I can resolve any of your Hornet issues". The rest of the video should be quite entertaining to watch.
  16. Well, you can always create a real model, like this Su-33 from Marcelo....
  17. Ahhh, why don't you do something exciting, like poking a stick in a hornet's nest, while someone takes a video of it. You can then post it on Youtube. We'll promise not to laugh too hard....
  18. Well, TK does peruse this board from time to time. Right, TK?
