  1. Really? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...si&img=2692
  2. You do realize that the MiG-19 is a default model in all the Third Wire jet sims, right?
  3. The SF series currently has only three flap settings coded into it: Full Up Intermediate (Takeoff) Full Down (Landing)
  4. Just a 'lil something I've been playing with in my spare time: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...si&img=2609
  5. There's a trick that was posted a while back at SimHQ, that involved creating a "fake" install of SFG, using the right folder structure and a few renamed WoV files. It's somewhat controversial in as far as its legality, and I won't post it unless TK gives me the OK to do so, Of course, I cannot prevent you from performing a search for it at SimHQ
  6. There is no MiG-17 pit. That's an Su-17 'pit in the image. The MiG-17 cockpit model, if one existed, would be all but indistinguishable from that of the '15. The reason there is no cockpit for either can be chalked up to a lack-of-demand. Also, accurate cockpits are much harder to model than the aircraft themselves, often taking twice as much time. Someone was working on a MiG-15 cockpit a year ago, and then dropped out of sight.
  7. If you ask Andy Bush at SimHQ, there's at least one F-15 pilot who used to share your opinion. Until he met up with Andy and his F-104, that is
  8. If you're handy with a paint or photo-editing app, you can also mod AD's Su-17 'pit, into a passable MiG-15 'pit, like so:
  9. WP denotes "Warsaw Pact" in the attachment type. That determines weapons types that can be carried by said aircraft according to the weapon's nation of manufacture. Attachment types include "Soviet", "NATO", "USAF", (etc.)
  10. To get a working cockpit, simply download the F-104G add-on from Third Wire, and use it's cockpit, and it's avionics and cockpit.ini files with your C-model.
  11. WoV, SFP1 or WoE? That looks like a PFM, PF, or PFV, how about your MF models? I can send you the proper FM for any of them.
  12. A cobra is nothing more than an inertia-aided high alpha stall, and recovery. It is useless in combat. The maneuver that is useful, is known as the hook. That is accomplished during a pursuit, and utilizes the same principle as the cobra, but is normally executed n the horizontal plane. It allows the attacking pilot to momentarily pull lead on his target during a gun pass. Sheesh, I like how all these self-proclaimed experts come out of the woodwork every time a models' released, and try to pick it apart, when they obviously haven't a clue.
  13. Are you serious? The speed you've mentioned is the maximum speed at which the gear can be deployed, that is, lowered for landing, and has nothing to do with the gear's durability. In fact, the max deploy speed on the model in my install is 128.61 m/s. What determines the gear's durability is the "MaxLoadFactor" value, which is set rather high for the F-14 at 7.0-8.0 Gs, in deference to its mission profile (carrier-based A/C). Since I regularly "fly" the Tomcat model, and more often than not, manage to successfully trap aboard after a mission, I'd say that you might have a problem somewhere in your install.
  14. Only if you create a scripted mission. There's no provision at present for a carrier launch or recovery in a randomly-generated mission.
  15. As I've mentioned before, there is an entirely new model in the works, a dedicated F-20 model.
  16. On the Yak, MiG, Sukhois (etc.), the attachment type should read "Soviet" in the aircraft's Data.ini file, in order to work in conjunction with the weapons pack that you've installed.
  17. Only the original source file can be opened. A lod file is an output file, and can only be hex-edited.
  18. Turn off aircraft shadows. That's a known ATI glitch in this series.
  19. Well, as third-party modelers mostly work on these things in their free time, there really is no such thing as a "scheduled" release date. It'll be released when it's finished to the developer's satisfaction. As for sharing info, the dev who's working on it visits this forum on a regular basis.
  20. The F-20 is currently a WIP (work in progress).
  21. Here it is. The drag tables are almost perfect. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...si&img=2516
