  1. NATO Fighters View File Details here: http://www.column5.us/natof.shtml The release notes: Installation ---------------- IMPORTANT: It is highly recommended that you apply this package to a clean installation of Wings Over Europe. Some existing files will be overwritten during the install process! Also, make certain that the 8/30 patch for WOE is installed BEFORE you install NATO Fighters. Unzip the archive you downloaded above and run nfsetup.exe. You will be prompted for the location to install NATO Fighters. MAKE SURE that this is your clean WOE installation. If you install NATO Fighters over an already modded copy of WOE, it WILL break some or all of the mods. The NATO Fighters installation is completely automatic. Once the installation is complete, you are ready to play. Description ----------------- Thanks for downloading Wings Over Europe: NATO Fighters! This is a collection of some of the best NATO-themed mods released over the past four years for the Strike Fighters series. I think you will find the expansion of flyable aircraft types, the addition of more allied nations, and the inclusion of numerous environment and visual mods to be a great enhancement to your copy of Wings Over Europe. All new aircraft and nations are fully integrated into the three campaigns, and no additional configuration is necessary to enjoy these enhancements after you install. I must stress that all of the mods included in this pack are already available. This series of expansions simply brings them all together in one place, fully integrates them into the campaigns and makes installation a snap. The goal is not to include every NATO squadron, but a representative selection of units to allow players to fly for nations other than the US, Great Britain and West Germany. 2. Here's the fix, courtesy of Florian-AmokFloo-Schneider: Open the F-5e_DATA.ini and remove in the first section (MissionData) the "," in the "Ceiling" Line. [MissionData] NationName=USAF ... MaxMissionRadius=640 Ceiling=50,800 ------> change to: Ceiling=20800 MinBaseSize=MEDIUM That should cure it.
  3. This doesn't sound like any of the Mirage Factory's F-5s. Copy and paste the the engine section of the F-5E_Data.ini and we'll help you fix it.
  4. Unfortunately, there is no fix for that particular model. The lights are set statically, as they were added after the fact, and without a model node (that is, they are not part of the actual model). There may never be a correction, as the author of the Tornado model lost the source file due to a hard disk crash.

  6. In a word, yes. Those numbers are "offsets" and, IIRC are based on the centerline coordinates of an airbase. Extract the GermanyCE_Targets.ini and persue the airbase entries. You'll see how the ground and terrain objects are each assigned an offset coordinate.
  7. Make sure that there is a .lod associated with the mk 46's entry in the weapondata.ini in your install. There is a model out there, but I can understand why it wasn't included in the weapons pack. As I recall, this was a bit of an issue during the release of Tainted Cigar. The Mk 46 was included in the armement of the DD's in that campaign, but it's actual lod file was not included. You see, we used the Sumner-Fram models, which did not have torpedo tube animations, We felt that it would have looked ridiculous having torpedo models "floating" in the air above that particular ship-model's deck.
  8. It's currently a work in progress (by two different authors) and is not available for download yet.
  9. Yes, it's corrupted and cannot be opened in Winzip, WinRAR, and 7Zip, so I'm deleting it and contacting the author.
  10. Locking up an airborne target on radar or via heat seeker tone will not result in a wingman "seeing" it. You must target it via shift+T (then hitting the F4 key to verify that it's the right target). That will serve to identify the target for your wingman. As Skycaptain mentioned before, a ground target is aquired with the "E" key, which again serves to ID it for your wingman. Try cycling through the view keys, so you become aquainted with them.
  11. Since an aircraft's nationality is determined in it's data.ini, and the vast majority of MiGs available for download are set to "NationName=SOVIET", I cannot see how that could happen. That's a first, in my experience. Make sure that the nationality has not been altered.
  12. In order to have escort vessels provide a screen and maneuver with their carrier, you must make sure these two parameters are set like so in their ground unit entry (in the mission file): NavalObject=TRUE Carrier=TRUE The escorts will now point into the wind during the launch and recovery phase, hopefully maintaining formation with the carrier.
  13. Here's a short video I put together. I know this is going to generate a lot of questions, so: 1) No, it's not SP4 with it's animated water...this is what you can acheive with the current patch after a few judicious tweaks. 2) Yes, the escorts are "escorting" the carrier. 3) Yes, I plan on releasing a series of missions roughly based on material in the book "On Yankee Station". http://media.putfile.com/Three-Wire
  14. Haiphong High Fives Downwind leg
  15. The issue is that carriers will only appear in either campaigns or custom (scripted) missions. They will not appear in game-generated missions. This cannot be fixed by anyone other than the game's developer. Any SF-series aircraft can be made carrier capable. The F-14 and F-18 already are.
  16. The flaps are set to automatic in the data.ini. Perhaps you're not traveling fast enough (over 310 kias) for them to retract. You can always edit the flaps DeploymentMethod from "AutomaticAerodynamicLoad" to 'Manual", in the F-5E_Data.ini
  17. Very nice, Tristan. Sky distance should be balanced to each terrain's environment, though. In this case, I wanted to blend in haze and horizon effects to recreate the skies over SEA. You can create an enviroment.ini for each terrain, place it an individual terrain folder, and add a reference to it in the terrain's ini file, like so: [Terrain] TerrainFullName=VietnamSEA EnvironmentFile=SEA_Environment.ini
  18. No offense, but have you tried raising them (by hitting the "V" key)?
  19. Happy B'day, Jim
  20. The prop speed on the OV-10 is fine in my install, and "guns not firing" usually means that the gun(s) in question have not been properly added to the gundata.ini, and/or not saved with the gun editor.
  21. Exactly my point. We'd have all sorts of ground objects, nasty, layered SAM defenses, and a tough EWR net to penetrate.
  22. Lexx, Have you considered Kamchatka?
  23. Sounds like a Java issue. I suggest that you go to www.sun.com , then download and install the latest Java.
  24. Perhaps Streakeagle might add to it, explaining how to use TWS and ACM mode on the F-15's radar.
