  1. Same story for me. A few hours of work and it was up and running. Much better than spending ~$150 or whatever the cost of TrackIR is (at least in my opinion).
  2. It looks like the WOE terrain using the modified .HFD file. You can find it in the downloads section under the terrain add-ons. It looks really cool in some places, but kinda weird in others. Which water shader is that? That river looks great.
  3. Glad to see there's some interest here! Wasn't planning on adding any more nations, but it might not be too hard to remove some of the raptor and F-35 units and add some other units instead... Would you be interested in helping with that? Wasn't going to, since I can't really tell if I'm attacking a T-72 or a T-55 from the air as far as this game goes. I just updated the data.ini's for the units already in Red Lightning so those vehicles will show up until 2020. We'll see if I get inspired, maybe I'll add something a little newer.
  4. Hey all, Just wanted to give a heads up on a campaign I'm working on. I'll try and post some screens later, maybe... It's a fictional war between Russia and Western Europe in 2018 (just imagine the cold war never ended or something like that...). The campaign is really just a copy of the Red Lightning campaign with the air units changes, and of course lots of AAA and SAM upgrades. Flyable units will include: USAF: F-22A F-22A Bock 20 F-35A USMC: F-35B USN: F/A-18E RAF: EF2000 F-35A F-35B Germany: EF2000 Russia: MiG-29SMT SU-27SM SU-39 AI Only: MiG-31 TU-95 One thing I'm aware of, is that by 2018, I'm sure we'd still have F-15's and F-16's making up some part of the mix, but for simplicity's sake, I just bumped up the timeline a little. Just use your imagination. Any suggestions or ideas, let me know.
  5. Sorry, that was meant to be a compliment and simply show that I'm excited for this mod. It was in no way intended to bug you about when it was done. No hurry!!!
  6. Don't know if this has already been reported, but... The AI OV-10D's just spin in circles on the runway. Tried changing the steering angle to + or - (like on the skyraiders) and it made no difference. ???
  7. Not trying to beat a dead horse here, and you've obviously already acknowledged that this was just your opinion, but... One of my best friends and the best man at may wedding was in the Marines and was part of the first group to head into Iraq in 2003. Once after he was back, we were talking about something or other, and he got on the subject of Harriers. I'm pretty sure he would kiss any Harrier pilot if he got the chance. He talked about Harrier's like they were a Godsend over there. He specifically mentioned walking by a couple Harriers parked in a field outside of a town (or farm or whatever) one day. The pilots were relaxing under the wings in the shade. A couple minutes later, when he was further down the road, he heard the engines spool up and next thing he knew the Harriers roared overhead to take care of business in town. They definitely took advantage of the ability for VTOL. He also mentioned something about a Harrier hovering and simultaneously firing rockets at an enemy position, but I think he must have been running on too little sleep...
  8. I'm pretty sure if you install the community "all-mods" package to EECH, you get everything from EEAH. No need to buy EEAH.
  9. Well, I snuck a little stick time in this morning before work, and have to say that the 2.5x power increase didn't really turn the SPAD into a speed machine. If anything, it just allowed for steeper climb outs and tighter turns when coming off/turning into targets. I flew a couple missions with the stock engine values, though, and found that as long as I was patient and very gentle with the stick, I could get endless runs on the target, getting as low as 200' during the attack and winding up at >3000' after completing my turn to set up for another run. So that's that. I'll leave the engine values as they are.
  10. Yeah, like I said, I know I may be turning the A-1 into something it wasn't, and that's not something I normally do. But I'm a huge Skyraider fan, and I'm just trying to find a way to have fun while flying it. With the stock powerplant, it's just not doing it for me. Of course, my 2.5x power boost might be overkill. Once I have a chance to test it out, maybe I'll reduce it back to something more like 2x or 1.5x. I just got done watching a 1 hour Great Planes episode on the Skyraider on the Military Channel, and I'm achin' to drop some toilet bowls!!!
  11. Thanks for the help. I'm sure I've got it tweaked way beyond what was feasible, but like I said, for some reason the 2.5x power boost really improves the gameplay for me. After all, isn't that what it's all about? Another thing I didn't try was adjusting the FM difficulty. I always leave it on Hard, and I know some planes are made to fly on Normal. I might look into that as well...
  12. Hey folks, I've found lately that the Razbam Skyraiders seem too slow and underpowered to keep me entertained while flying 'em. After 1 or 2 runs on a target, I am completely out of alititude and energy, and usually end up falling out of the sky while attempting to turn around for another run on a target. Now I'm sure we could discuss/debate all day long about whether or not this is accurate and whether or not this is an issue with my tactics, the FM, or just the way the game works. That's not what I want to do. Let's just accept the fact that for gameplay's sake, I want my Skyraider to be a little more powerful. Here's the engine data for the A-1E: [Engine] Referencename=Wright R-3350-26WA SystemType=PROP_ENGINE InputName=THROTTLE_CONTROL EngineID=1 SLPowerDry=2013390.00 ThrustAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 ThrustPosition=0.0,2.0,0.00 ThrottleRate=0.5 AltitudeTableNumData=8 AltitudeTableDeltaX=1524 AltitudeTableStartX=0.0 AltitudeTableData=1.000,0.821,0.684,0.554,0.453,0.358,0.277,0.000 SpinnerNodeName=Propeller01 ;StaticPropNodeName=PropDisc01 SlowPropNodeName=PropDisc02 FastPropNodeName=PropDisc03 SlowPropRPM=480 FastPropRPM=4000 MaxPropRPM=5000 IdlePropRPM=3000 ExhaustEmitterName= ExhaustPosition=0.0,-3.5,0.0 FireSuppression=TRUE MinExtentPosition=-10.68, 6.59,-0.27 MaxExtentPosition= -9.51, 0.72, 1.24 ConstantSpeed=TRUE NumBlades=4 PropDiameter=4.11 MomentOfInertia=3.86 PropEfficiencyAdvanceRatioTableNumData=8 PropEfficiencyAdvanceRatioTableDeltaX=0.2 PropEfficiencyAdvanceRatioTableStartX=0.0 PropEfficiencyAdvanceRatioTableData=0.023,0.842,0.870,0.870,0.870,0.870,0.402,0.000 I've tried bumping the SLPowerDry up to around 5000000, and found that that gives me the results I'm looking for. However, I'm not exactly sure what this number is and how may affect something else (fuel consumption...?). I could also try messing with the numbers for the prop, but, again, I have no idea what exactly they mean or what I should change (other than diameter and number of blades). Am I on the right track with the SLPowerDry, or is there something else I should alter? Thanks!
  13. I'm not talking about being high or stoned. I'm talking about being drunk. I've found that a few beers (or whatever your equivalent qty to get you to a "beer buzz" is) can help you relax and play a little more from the heart and put a little more into it. But what I was talking about is 2/3 a fifth of tequilla drunk. :drinks_drunk: I'm going to put a breath-a-lizer on my guitar case so I can't open it after a certain point. And to keep this slightly on-topic, I only tried smoking weed once. I was already kinda drunk and all it did was give me the dry-heaves. But, a few years down the road, my girlfriend's roommate came home from Petaluma once with a tub of green margarine. He baked it into some cookies (green foul smelling cookies). I should've had maybe one cookie at the most, but I went ahead like an idiot and ate 2 1/2. I was stoned out of my mind for more than 12 hours and can say it was not a pleasant experience at all. I haven't tried it since. That isn't to say that if the right time, place, and company comes along I might not give it another try (not eating, just smoking it!). But it's definitely not on my bucket list. I don't have any issues with it being legalized, though.
  14. There are two things you should never do drunk: 1. Drive 2. Try and play your guitar. Especially if friends are around. Seriously, just don't do it.
  15. No, I tried. Didn't work.
  16. Ok. You have the same graphics chip that I have. The driver I’m using right now (that came installed on my system) is from May 2007 or something like that. Every time I’ve updated the driver when a new one is available, I’ve ended up with the canopy reflection issues that you have. Unfortunately it took two complete system re-installs for me to figure out that I need to back up my working driver before trying anything new. *edit* - here's my original thread about the problem. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=26971&hl= My picture isn't there anymore, but it was the exact same problem you're having. I even made the comment about the Tornado :D I have the driver backed up on a disc at home, and I can try sending that backup to you, but I don’t know if that is a good idea or if it will work, since it’s from a different system. In the meantime, try contact intel support and see if they can provide you with a download link to the GMA965 driver from May 2007 (or close to that). Then use Driver Magician Lite ( a free download) to back up your current driver and try installing the new driver. Hopefully, that will fix the problem.
  17. Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Devices Click the plus sign next to "Display Devices" and it should say what your display device is.
  18. What graphics card are you using? I got the same issues with my Intel GMA965 whenever I upgraded drivers. The driver that originally came installed on my system is the only one that works for me.
  19. It supports mouse look, but you have to have the "right mouse button" pressed for it to work. I had to configure the right mouse button to a toggle switch on my joystick and hold it with a rubberband to get mouse look to work. Once you get that, it works OK, but can be a little jumpy. Also had to set it in mouse look - absolute mode. This is with Free-track, by the way. I don't have track IR.
  20. Korea is way out of date and needs to have some things changed to be playable. If you search (try typing in "combatace.com korea update" in Google or something like that) there are some update files that I created that should be available for download in one of the threads here. Also, I think you need the '06 patch for Korea. The prop planes won't work with the new patch. Falklands also needs the older patch. Some of the flight models won't work with the latest patch. No runways is definitely a .cat pointer problem, so take a look at that in the Knowledgebase and double check that you have them set correctly.
  21. Check this out: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=36995 Fixed it for my laptop w/ intel chip.
  22. I'm sure this has been explored before, so feel free to tell it's been tried and doesn't work... But what about putting one very powerful engine aligned vertically on the end of each main rotor blade. Then, is it possible to couple the movement of all four engines to the movement of the pitch and roll controls, instead of thrust vectoring controls? It seems like this would most accurately simulate the forces that are going to to get a helicopter into the air and move around. The tail rotor would still be a different story, unless you can place two engines back there and have their throttle controlled by yaw input... *edit* - something like this (excuse the poor artwork...)
  23. In order to help, we need to know: 1. What kind of vehicles are you getting instead? 2. Single missions or campaigns?
