  1. Yeah guys. That's the idea. I really don't have a clue what do in order to make it look like see through wire fencing. Problem is, as FC pointed out; I need to use the TGA like a decal, but I haven't a clue how to do that. Do I have to edit the INI or what? Monty; is that the same fence model in your pic or something newer?
  2. Sorry bud; I'm not sure what you mean. How exactly could I go about it?
  3. Anybody know how I can make the third party wire fence object more "see through"? Or maybe I'm using the wrong model perhaps? From the terrain_types.ini : [TargetType***] Name=Fence FullName=Fencing ModelName=Fence.lod TargetType=MISC ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=2000 UseGroundObject=FALSE DamagePoint=100 ArmorValue=0.0 ArmorType=0 RepairRate=10.0 StartDetectChance=0 StartIdentifiedChance=0 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=0 MaxVisibleDist=15000.0 DestroyedEffect=SmallRocketGroundExplosion DestroyedModel= SecondaryChance=10 SecondaryEffect=SmallExplosionEffect And here are the objects in question: Fence_Objects.rar Any help would be appreciated
  4. No vipers I'm afraid, but will a Sidewinder 'shot' do?? After all a Sidewinder is a snake too
  5. Tell me about it. Flew a F-100 fighter sweep in Operation Quick Sand earlier. Both myself and my wingman got shot down without shooting down any MiGs. Debrief then tells me I was awarded the Purple Heart for my, ahem, 'bravery'. I said "f*ck that" and decided to refly the mission. At least I was able to sort out that weird promotion which has you ending up a Lt. Colonel at the end of the campaign. My rule basically is that if I'm getting an award or a promotion I'd at least like to think I'd earned it.
  6. Must be the wet hair that gives him that "Grrrrr" look. That's if Ozzy's anything to go by - he didn't look at all too amenable after I washed him the other day Here's to you Max!
  7. Actually I'm very surprised at how well trained he is for a dog his age. He's never done his "business" in the house and he knows exactly what NO means. Did a little bit of digging on his history and found out that his previous owner in another town had his house repossesed by the bank and he was forced to move back in with his mother. Trouble with that was his mother wouldn't under any circumstances allow a dog in the house. The rest is history as they say.
  8. I think it's fair to say he's taken very well to his new home, dontcha think? A man after my own heart; he knows a good woman when he meets one. I just hope the missus never finds out I posted these pics here! Captions, anyone?
  9. May I suggest an alternative? Weapons Pack 1 by Ravenclaw007 The Sidewinders in this recent pack are much more reliable - and they look a whole lot more accurate too
  10. Allow me to introduce you all to "Ozzy": Ozzy was just five days from being put to sleep when my missus and I brought him home from the local animal shelter, where he'd been for some time. He's quite shy and a little nervous but he's a dog who could do with a lot of attention at the moment, which is important for an 18 month old Jack Russell terrier. He'd been there for some weeks without any luck of a home and his luck had almost run out until we came in the door. I eventually gave in to advice from my therapist who said that a dog would be the best thing in the world for me in order to get me out of the house more and keep me company when the missus is working. Turns out to be one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. This little guy's kept me busy since, with getting to know him taking him for his walks and earlier today (much to his dismay) giving him a much needed bath. At times like this it just makes me even angrier to think of all those folks who seem to forget that a dog is not a Christmas gift - it's for LIFE. Now I've GOT to get some sleep. My back's aching, my eyelids are drooping and I haven't been used to this much physical activity in some time
  11. I just LOVE that two-tone tan Tiger style scheme on the Romanian one One question though; are these skins for stock or TMF Floggers?
  12. Yeah, I've pretty much tried every variation of the "ALE-40_R" prompt that I can think of, but without any luck. Over at Third Wire I've tried to bring this to TK's attention but no joy there so far.
  13. I'm completely baffled by this. The correct prompts are given in the DATA.INI file. All the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed Here's my files for anyone who'd like to have a closer look at them. Dhimar_Hunter_Files.rar Maybe someone else might have more luck than myself
  14. Whoooops!! That's a change I made earlier today that I forgot to change back. A somewhat desperate attempt on my part to see if that worked. My reasoning there was that if it worked with the left hand dispenser, then maybe they're part of the same model node.......... WRONG
  15. I've created a Dhimari Hawker Hunter version for the early 70s using the DLC Omani Hunter73 (82) as the base model. The reason I've picked the Omani Hunter73 (82) is for the fact that it has the inner Sidewinder pylons. In order to make it more accurate I've been trying to remove the ALE-40 chaff/flare blisters from the model with partial success. Over at ThirdWire, TK gave me some assistance by giving the correct node names. I then duly entered the node names for removal in the DATA.ini file: [AircraftData] DestroyedModel=Hunter_Destroyed.LOD DestroyedEffect=VehicleFireEffect EmptyMass=6590.8 EmptyInertia=46967.6,12272.6,65825.6 ReferenceArea=32.42 ReferenceSpan=10.26 ReferenceChord=3.42 Component[001]=Fuselage Component[002]=Nose Component[003]=LeftWing Component[004]=RightWing Component[005]=LeftOuterWing Component[006]=RightOuterWing Component[007]=LeftStab Component[008]=RightStab Component[009]=VertTail Component[010]=Remove1 Component[011]=Remove2 [Remove1] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=ALE-40_L_ok DestroyedNodeName=ALE-40_L DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE [Remove2] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=ALE-40_R_ok DestroyedNodeName=ALE-40_L DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE However, here's the result ....... Ideas, anyone?
  16. I learnt my lesson the hard way last year when the missus "accidentally" commited homicide on my desktop. My best friend nowadays is my shockproof detachable hard drive
  17. OK, I know this is cheating, but I changed the IL-28's rear gun from having twin 23mm NR23s to having two 14.5mm KPVs. Makes my job that little bit easier, but not too easy, mind you
  18. Well done bud! Here's to many a sleepless night
  19. Good to hear things are going smoothly for you, bud! Be sure to check in on us from time to time - and don't forget the pics!!!
  20. Niiiiice On the same subject; is there a third party E-1 Tracer available anywhere? It'd be REALLY handy for those 1960s to early '70s campaigns This shot was taken at D3 Airfield only a day after the 493TFS arrived from the UK. Out of the cauldron.....
  21. Now THAT would have been a very interesting scenario back in '82 in the South Atlantic
