  4. That was a great mission editor... In some ways I liked it better than the third wire mission editor. We could really use an updated third party editor that has the SF2NA naval group and mission type functionality.... that reads terrain tiles and zooms in on tiles for precise object placement and routing coordinates . Imagine convoys that precisely follow the roads on every tile as you plotted them.

  6. I get CTD's in trying to load target areas in the Formosa terrain.
  7. If i could make one small request it would be refined terrain flattening controls... in order to place airfields and such with out having to use the TW terrain editor.
  8. Pretty sure It is referencing cockpit parts from the old wings over series lods. They were all renamed with the advent of SF2. Why don't you just grab the new MF F-14 and save your self a lot of trouble.

  10. The target area editor did not work for me on the April 2012 patch. I use other installs going back to June 2010 for certain features that we lost with the newer patches I have yet to try it at the June 2010 patch level. i still need to test your other tools . Edit***** Tested with June 2010 patch seems to be working fine. :)
  11. My earlier post was back when I was running vista 64 bit when I switched to windows 7 64 I started having the picture in picture effect happening in game ... not just on the menu screens. For me on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit the fix was placing all files in the flight and menu folders and just the d3d9.dll and dxgi.dll files and log files in the main installation folder.
  12. It may be a terrain issue... i have a couple of terrains that were originally from series 1 most notably the Yap Vietnam terrain The height field is not right and the bombs fall short.
  13. Anybody have any info on the YF-12's radar capabilities? Seems to me that the search and track strength could be bumped up a bit, the Aim-47 had a very long range.
  14. The terrain looks great. If only it extended a bit further eastward, it would be even more useful. Tehran looks pretty close to the wall. Not complaining... just thinking out loud :)

  18. So what is the word on Marcelo's Su-33 ? I thought the release was supposedly imminent a few months ago and then it got kind of quiet.
  19. This was an issue that was first known back when Vista replaced XP. If I remember correctly... with Vista the fix was to run the install out of a user folder rather than a proper program files folder install. I did that for a while before i upgraded to SF2.

  21. Set your detail mesh size to 16 to 24, Rends Germany...or Germany with Piecemeal's airfield mods. Anatolia is a great one too... install that old kick ass speech pack then install install a High resolution cloud pack and set a high cloud count...install horizon clouds mod. Set up lots of extra SAMs and AAA on your testing target area. Set the clouds to Broken and Enemy air defense to the maximum setting . Select a flight size of 12 or 16 aircraft with high res skins and arm them with Ravenclaw's High res weapons. Use the mission editor to create an epic land battle on a massive scale, going on in the area you will be flying over, Tanks, APC's, trucks, troops , artillery the works.

  23. I fully agree on the cats .... and the ability to take a real look at the inner workings of the locked LOD based terrain system would lead to a new era in terrain development.
