Ísafjörður Airport

So while we wait for the downloads to be brought back up online, I was curious to find out how many of us are actually successful in bringing their respective birds down without pranging at Ísafjörður Airport in the stock Iceland terrain ! The AI very conveniently lands on the hill in front of the runway clears the top and then lands; Ive tried coming in the other way in a Hercules but no luck! The other aircraft I've tried is the Lightning. 7 times so far!

That plane was before its time.

I second what Fubar512 posted; my standard resort is to force a scissors at low altitude; if the terrain don't get him, I will.

Su-27 Cockpit Position

Somewhat of a breakthrough... For the really old models instead of arco, if one enters cockpit as depicted below, it gets rid of the unsightly stuff. Its not perfect, but atleast you can see out of the front! [Hide1] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=Cockpit DestroyedNodeName= ShowFromCockpit=FALSE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE Thanks Fubar512 for giving me heads up on what I needed to look for. Man, this is intricate! -

Found this...

"Tho' much is taken, much abides; and tho' We are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." From Ulysses by Lord Alfred Tennyson I'm no limey, but that's some stirring stuff, what!I think these lines were also quoted in Skyfall; though back in the nineties in a place once called Calcutta, there used to be a Physics teacher who'd open his first class with preceding verse from the same poem; "A bringer of new things; and vile it were For some three suns to store and hoard myself, And this gray spirit yearning in desire To follow knowledge like a sinking star, Beyond the utmost bound of human thought." -
