It was made to look like Fighters Anthology, once upon a time. There were even separate ones for USAF Fighters, USN, etc. in the series. I forget who put it out originally, but the name Kout springs to mind. I could research it, and say for certain, but am too busy bet-testing the patch. As to the SF2 Euro, I imagine it would work, but would have to be a different installer. Of course the old install to an empty folder and manually add the items might work...

Toning down the debris
Spectre_USA replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Wanted to get rid of the enemy planes? Does the guy know how many years it took to get them added? And they're free targets! What is there to grouse about? Some people's kids. You send them to school and what do they do? Eat the covers off the books... -

Looks good. Very good. Any modern armor being added is a welcome sight, but a well done one like this is great! Many thanks... -

Mein Gott man, you are the SuperHornet skinner supreme! -
I always fly from lined up to taxi back to the ramp and shut down. Heck, if we could start on the ramp/hangar, I'd take it from there. No Ctrl+N, and only limited Ctrl+A, 2X max. So, it gets long and boring sometimes, and a jaunt out to see what all the hubbub is about is one of the coolest aspects of the game. I remember in the early days when it was you and any adversary. Now, like in ODS, there are TONS of others out doing their thing, and it rocks watching them in action. Seeing the big picture, now THAT immerses me...

Diggin' this shot, and I look to the left to see who posted it. Did a double take when I saw your name, as I did the Night shift a lot in 1982, while I was working on? You guessed it, the wunnerful Warthog... -

A push-me pull-you, how cool! -
I've run all the titles on laptops before, all the Dell latitude series, as that is what I wrench on at work. Heck, I've been using laptops for work, and been certified to work on them, for over a decade. But this one is actually my own, and can have on it what I want without the random search by the firewall Nazi telling me it's unauthorized software. I think it is either the screen size stringency, or the shared memory, which the Dells have as well...

NATO Fighters III Released

Why the heck not? It's fun splattering MiG bits all over East Germany with a little JD runnin' `round my brain! -
So, I'm in the IT area of a banking biz that didn't need a bailout, and I got a bonus! I've been openly lusting those tiny little netbooks for some months now, and when the cash hit my paws, I pulled the trigger on an Acer Aspire One. If you happen to be looking, I did some research, and found the 10.1" screened system to have about the best bang for the buck. But I didn't get it for a gaming rig, I have one or 3 of those, but I figured that the tame specs on early Thirdwire things might make them a cool, on the road diversion for my flights o' fancy. I even have a micro-controller that tests good on the big rig, and installs well on the little rascal. But I took a patched to latest version, copied it over, and got a black screen, quick flash of blue across the top, then desktop. Great. Deleted that one, and took an original install out for a stroll. Wanted the CD, so I installed the 1st patch for WoE. Fired it up, no CD whinging, but the same as the above. CTD. OK, check for and re-install the latest DX9.0c, was already at 0409 standard, but what the hey? Same darned thing. Even changed the options.ini to 1024 x 600, the systems only resolution, no joy. It easily surpasses the min specs, but would seem to be a shared memory situation. 1 GB RAM, and 256 MB of shared memory via the Intel ugly video. 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom processor, and butt-loads of hard drive space. Is there a crashlog stashed somewhere I could consult? Event viewer seems to ignore it. Maybe I should revert to SF:P1 or WoV? I gotta have me some air combat capability on this bugger, so point me in the right direction, gents...

That would make 2 of us. This thread took a hard left down Polk street, dinnit? And it started so well, with the awesome Aardvark, how could it go so wrong?!?! -
SF2 Weapon Editor Released
Spectre_USA replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This was my one hold up to getting SF2. I wonder if it will run on my newly ordered Acer Aspire One netbook with Windows 7? -
Well, you can't just get weapons to simply work on the aircraft if the sim doesn't know they exist. You add the lines of code, which are amazingly readable by us humans, to let the game know how they work. Spped, sensors, drag, who uses `em, that kind of stuff. A cut, paste, renumber and compile is all it takes. Simple, huh?

No visuals turn fight with MiG-21's in an F-pig-4? You got big brass ones, don't ya? -
You Horrible, horrible men! I have another 4 hours to go here on the help desk, and you release not just one but 3 tasty insects! Ah, well, at least it's my Friday, so when I do get off, I'll have the whole weekend to release my inner Hornet. Many thanks guys, I am pretty sure there are going to be many Su's, MiG's, SAM's and ZSU's burned in your honor this fine weekend...
