ATTN: CF-5A - 433 or 434 SQN

I never did the RCAF, just the USAF, but those are some darned fine looking jets! Good job, man... -
B-1

In a word, no. But on a more upbeat note, it is being worked on! Check here; http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cg...45;t=003918;p=1 The project has just begun, so it may be quite a while, but at least the bigger, badder offspring of the Aardvark is being worked upon... :fan_1: -
A-10A Files
Spectre_USA replied to Fubar512's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
No, he is quite correct. the zip has 3 files, 2 are WAV's that need to go into the \\root\sounds directory. The last is the data.ini for the A-10A, which goes into \\root\objects\aircraft\A-10A, so if you want things in the right place, do as is stated and it will work... -
I know what he's talking about, and think it's a good question. So, you go to singles and pick out an A-10, fire up a strike mission in, say Germany. In singles it's cool, as you can pick which aircraft you want as wingman, or yourself even. But the drop-down list is limited. It seems to depend on the type of mission you chose, the aircraft, or something, but never refelcts the entire gamut of aircraft you have installed. Figuring out how to widen that variety would be rockin'!

Mod effectivity
Spectre_USA replied to Capt.Scarlet's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
No relation whatsoever. Lock On is a continuation of the Su-27 series, basically 3, with a pair of flyable USAF aircraft. There was a Soviet add-on in the Su-25. The campaign was 7 scripted missions linked together, for the A-10 anyway. Different numbers for different aircraft, but still scripted. WoV & E are lite sims, but have a fully dynamic campaign, my favorite, butt-loads of add-on aircraft, terrains and other objects, a weapons pack that rivals anything to date, and with the advent of SP4, the best looking atmosphere avaialble. So, no, this ain't LOMAC, but a whole lot more... -
It can be done, but takes some careful editiing, and just a little hocus-pocus. I did it shortly after the F-111F model was released, with a little help from my friends. I'd point you to the thread at SimHQ that has the edits, but the whole darned site is down at the moment. Do a search upon it's return. I took a few shots when I 1st did it, and haven't messed with it since, as it's more "Gee-Whiz" than anything...

Hellfires and TOWs
Spectre_USA replied to jtin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I saw them in there, XM-8's, but assigned only to "NATO". Changed to USAF and USN, will check in a single here in a bit. There were TONS of entries that had to be changed. Herculean effort by Mr. Bunyap, and he did get the majority, especially the most used ones... -

Darned holiday weekends. My copy, according to FedEx, has been sitting in town here since yesterday, but I won't see it until tomorrow or the next day... -

Hellfires and TOWs
Spectre_USA replied to jtin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Was wondering about the grenade launchers myself. Sure, they looked ugly, but man did they pack a punch! Load `em up on an OV-10 and you got some serious rock `n roll! I may have to dig them out of mothballs and re-add `em... -

A Few Newb Questions

The Bombing range, found on this site, does go into a different folder than the SEA terrain. I use it whenever a new airframe comes out to get a feel for it, and the characteristics when moving mud. Once installed per the readme, it will be an option in creating a single mission. You can fly any old aircraft, be it included, or an add-on, that shows up in the drop-down. As for chaff and flares, no, they do not take up a weapons slot on most. On the Tornado they have externally loaded pods that do take up slots. Most more modern jets have the ALE-40, or the like, which is integrated into the airframe. I've loaded hundreds of the canisters in real life on the A-10 and upgraded F-111F's. EDIT4-Typos -
Well, The folks at Check 6 have it figured out. They have the A-10 CCIP capable in their MegaPack. I took a peek through the Avionics.ini on the Vista Beta laptop I am testing it on. You need a TGA, but the setup for the INI looks completely different. I am going to try to get the new A-7F super SLUF CCIP'd, but I've a feeling I will see the desktop a lot during my experiments...

Those are, unfortunately, canned messages. As soon as you, the CAS flight, hit waypoint four and are inbound to the target, a series of messages are triggered. They do not correlate to what is really going on. They are just "atmosphere", if you will. They say they have you in sight, rocking wings, in to mark etc., but none of the above actually happens. They just orbit the target area, and it may time out to them being there, but usually doesn't...
