  1. There are days when operations are cancelled due to weather. However, if you look at the records, and we have, missions were flown even under the most apalling conditions; there were very few days when there was no aerial activity. The weather you see in OFF, every day, is based on met records, data from the 'Comic Cuts', TSTB, squadron and battalion war diaries, artillery records, and various other sources. Unfortunately, we can't tune it to specific locales, so one weather system must fit the entire Front, but the weather you see was what the troops saw on any given day. Cheers, shredward
  2. Anyone is welcome to contribute to the Great War Historical Archive, and many have, which is what I particularly like about it. Unfortunately, I've had my head buried in stuff working on the expansions, so haven't been able to contribute much to it, or the "On this day in the Great War" thread, but one day the madness will stop, and I'll be able to get back to it. Cheers, shredward
  3. Tough luck old chap. We won't smash your chair in the mess (unless the party gets really wild), or let someone move into your bunk . Take care! Ted
  4. You undoubtedly saw a stand-in for a later Noop flying in one of the backwater French outfits - there were still a few Noop equipped Escadrilles into the summer of '18. The last RFC outfit phased them out in April or May '18 (not home, so I can't check my files). Late model Noops coming soon to a screen near you. Cheers, shredward
  5. One of MvR's DrI's was hung in a museum in Berlin after the Great War, but was destroyed in a raid in Round 2. Shred
  6. Sure Paarma, send them along. Cheers, shred
  7. Dan-San Abbott is undergoing heart-surgery on Monday. Those of you who know him might want to stop and wish him well here: http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/camouflage-markings/43336-abendmaschine-manfred-von-richthofen-5.html Cheers, shredward
  8. Yep, my Grandfather, but the war ended before he made it to the Front. Which allows me to be here, as the odds of my not being here, if he had got there, well, you know. Cheers, shredward
  9. Interesting screen name. We are just in the process of adding one of your 'ancestors' to the OoB.

    Cheers,

  10. I'm no tekky, but you should be able to just load it all up. The only caveat might be if you have the old 2 disc version of CFS3. I always run that first, just to be on the safe side. Cheers, shredward
  11. That is exactly what happened to Raoul Lufbery. His wingman, Oscar Gude, who held back when Luf went after a two-seater, was a big hit on the East Coast cocktail circuit after the war, telling stories about his heroic time at the Front. Cheers, shredward
  12. What a cool idea! I love that aerial photo of the trenches. Hmmmm.....
  13. Have to clear it with Mark Miller first. shred
  14. Pol has it in pieces in a corner of the hangar, pots of dope scattered everywhere: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=41094&st=0&p=287056&hl=DH5&fromsearch=1entry287056 Cheers, shredward
  15. They are still de rigeur where I live, eight months of the year. Fortunately, they've evolved - no more wool, no more scratching your parts when you think noone is looking Cheers, shredward

  17. Just email him. Cheers, shredward
  18. Depends when and where. For the most part, the Jastas didn't venture much over the lines. However, when things got crazy - the Battle of Amiens for instance, it was all out war. And down in the South, over the French. and in 1918, the American sectors, the agressive Jastas frequently came calling. Cheers, shredward
  19. Now that is fun! Another cinematic masterpiece. Thanks Stump, and Lou
  20. There was a Cage who had a seminally important webpage back in the days when we were beginning to mod RB all those years ago.... shredward
  21. Hi Roger, The error messages just tell you that a certain ace skin is missing. In this release, we have, off the top of my head, about 1200 pilots, and only 3200 skins. As most pilots flew several a/c, you can see that we are still missing quite a few skins. But we're working on it. Cheers, shredward
