  2. Nukes are senseless. Kills the civilists while the military capability is astonishingly not really harmed. Its only for people without balls in the trousers.
  3. I guess the russians will get the deal. The IAF used MiG's since decades. The indian industry built them in licence. The F-16 has the problem that Pakistan, Indias old well loved enemy, use it. The Eurofighter is to expensive for his capabilities. And the Gripen ...? I dont think that Sweden can push it so like the russians push the MiG.

  5. Made 8 F-4E hitting the ground while flying the MiG-17F. Its a AI problem, not a problem of the planes.
  6. Its true what Wrench said. The PF was a pure interceptor plane, so no air to ground weapons were available. But if you want you could mod the plane to carry bombs or rockets. Its easy.
  7. Open the file and look for all HeightMapScale= entries. Perhaps there are also other settings then 5.0000 Change it to 1.00000 or even 0.000000000 till you has the result you wish. Simple trial and error methode.
  8. Open file Vogesen_data.ini with notepad editor press CTRL+H look for HeightMapScale=5.000000 replace it with HeightMapScale=1.000000 Thats it.
  9. The F-22 is a nice toy. Its true. But do you need it really? Its the same with the Eurofighter, is it really usefull in our time? I think no. What we need are planes like the A-10 or Su-25. Rough, ugly, but high efficient killers. We need helicopters, we need better and more reliable systems for the man on the ground. Because only the man with the rifle in the hand can hold and secure a territory. I think a lot of people should read the old book of General von Clausewitz. Perhaps they would not invest our money in expensive and senseless toys, but in usefull weapons. If you see the decision in that way you will understand that the cut of the Raptor is the right way.

  11. With other words the US gave the iraqis a short hint to buy american weapons. Its also a way to deal with the crisis.
  12. Yes its true, but it also depend on the ground objects. The stock buildings use not very detailed skins. If you want high res buildings it will harm the FPS rate. Also if you place heavy Flak and SAM you will face this problem.
  13. You can put the jets into FE without problem. But to bring the terrain from FE to the other sims is impossible. Thatswhy i make the civil mod on FE basic and not in WOE.
  14. Be carefull with to many objects. It can cause FPS problems. Then you has a nice base in slideshow. By the way, Tannethal, the size of factory baseplate is unkown for me. All of my files have the size in filename.

  17. My airfields consist of several objects wich can be combinated so that you can build your own Airbase. I have e runways of different length (2000, 2400 and 2600 meters) than 2 taxiways, one 100 meter long the other 500 meters long and 2 parking areas of different size. Each object you can set and move freely. Its like a big puzzle. But i think with a certain amount of workforce you could make every single airbase of the world with such files.

  19. The idea came some weeks ago when i had a bad discussion with my wife. She disliked it to see our 7 years old boy playing bomb dropping with TK's sims. So i decided to make a civil mod using the czech Z-37 agricultural aircraft which is widely used in East Germany since 40 years. My idea is to make agricultural missions (fertelising of fields), firefighting missions, SAR and parachute missions. In the meantime i have moded the stock C-130A for paratroopers, the O-1e for SAR and created the Z-37Cmelak for agricultural, firefighting and SAR missions. As basic game i use FE, because the tiling terrain is much more detailed and hedgehoping is much more fun than in the other TK sims. As basic terrain i use my Vogesen terrain. With copy the controls.ini from WOE i can fly also jets in FE and it is a great experience to hedgehoping with a F-4 or a MiG trough the Vogesen moutain area. Canadair, seems to be that we walked the same way. I used for making the woodfires FE stock trees and defined them as tanks too. Fireengines were also set as tanks. For firefighting i use a mod of a KMGU area dispenser, but i have the problem of non existing waterbomb effect too. Perhaps an effect maker could help and create one.

  22. Hier mal ein kurzer Report wie weit ich bin. Da ich FE als Basisspiel verwende kann ich leider keine SEAD definieren. Aber kein Problem. Ich habe nun folgendes mir ausgedacht: Dünger streuen = Armed_Recon Feuer löschen = CAS Fallschirmspringer = Strike SAR = Recon Dünger streuen und Fezer löschen wird über GroundObjects gesteuert. Dafür habe ich einen niedlichen Waldbrand mit 32 großen Einzelfeuern gebastelt. Zum Dünger streuen habe ich ein Feld in Größe von 1,25 ha definiert. Es besteht aus 32 Einzelschlägen von jeweils 25x25 Meter. An jede Einzelschlagsecke habe ich rote Fahnen gesetzt. Werde ich wohl in Orange umfärben, denn zur Zeit sieht es aus wie eine Demonstration zum 1.Mai. Fallschrimspringer absetzen müßte in terrain Targets.ini definiert werden. Dürfte aber kein Problem werden. Fallschirmspringer sind ja bereits vorhanden, muß ich also nicht selber basteln. SAR Einsätze müßten ebenfalls über die Targets.ini gehen. Ich denke mal ich werde einfach ein oder zwei Fahrzeuge in die Prärie setzen und in die Aufgabenbeschreibung schreiben: "Finde vermisste Personen im Planquadrat X" Probleme bereitet mir zur Zeit noch das Abwurfmaterial. Die Effekte sind bisher immer noch das übliche Knall, Puff, Peng und meine Versuche sie in Wasser oder Düngerschwaden zu verwandeln haben noch keinen Erfolg gezeigt.
  23. Danke für die Hilfe. Die Idee mit den zwei Engines war Klasse. Jetzt muß ich nur noch das Fahrzeug durch ein paar Bäume ersetzen. Mal sehen ob ich die in 3ds max hinbekomme. Ich habe mich entschlossen Armed_Recon Einsätze für Feuerlöscheinsätze zu nutzen. SEAD wird zum Düngerstreuen gemacht und Strike für Fallschirmspringer absetzen genutzt.
  24. So, jetzt habe ich meinem Sohn eine Z-37 Cmelak zusammengebastelt und eine Hercules zum Fallschirmtransporter umgerüstet. Fein. Nun soll es ans Feuerlöschen gehen, damit die Cmelak auch was zu tun bekommt. Nur habe ich gestern den gannzen Abend erfolglos damit verbracht ein brennendes Groundobject zu bauen. Hat jemand von Euch Ahnung wie man so was hinkriegen könnte?
