  1. I needed 14 hits with Harpoon to sink the Kuz. Was hard work.
  2. Kuz is fighting off a missile attack. Lets say, release date less than one week.
  3. Is not satisfying but if it is so, then it is so. And i forgot a issue no.5: I cant sink this f..cking ship!!!!! There must be something wrong with the hit boxes! It drives me mad!
  4. I have some issues with the old Kuz.lod 1: the guns are wrong orientated. The gun barrels move wildly and always in the wrong direction. This is a problem with the LOD. Is not to solve. 2: 8 turrets are of wrong type. They should be Kashtan double guns with SAM containers side by side. LOD problem, not to solve. 3: The missiles from VLS silos does not start from silo, but from center of the ship. LOD problem, not to solve 4: The chinese Ship does not appear in game. I have a J-15 Sea Flanker, i have a terrain with setting EnemyNation1=China. And if i start a mission with the J-15, it takes off always from a land base. This is the entry in the Kuz_data.ini [MissionData] NationName=Soviet ServiceStartYear=1990 ServiceEndYear=2050 GroundObjectRole=WARSHIP WarshipClass=AIRCRAFT_CARRIER Availability=RARE FormationSizeBase=1 FormationSizeVariation=0 Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=2010 ExportAvailability=RARE CarrierBaseSize=MEDIUM CarrierNumSquadrons=2 If i change the line NationName=Soviet to NationName=China The J-15 starts from carrier. But soviet planes in other terrains does not use the carrier anymore. Issue 4 should be to solve, but at the moment i'm to stupid to find the solution of the problem.
  5. Liaoning Okay, this is a quick and dirty mod. I have only changed the decals.ini and used USNshipNumbers.
  6. Liaoning could be a repainted Kuz. Sinking the ship is at the moment a little problem. It withstand a lot of hits and the CIWS is very effective. I attacked the Kuz with 16 F-18, fired 32 Harpoon and it happens very often, that all 32 missiles were destroyed by CIWS and short range SAM. It needs finetuning.
  7. "Sokol to Kuz. Request permission for fast and low flyby." "Negativ. Sokol." "Sorry Kuz. To late!" "Job twoi "
  8. Correct. The cliffs are made as LOD. GKABS made them for me. Thanks. It works fine now for me.
  9. Back to the roots. I have gone one step back and started to mod the old, already uploaded Kuz to make them working. The LOD had some malefunctions. the guns does not look in the right direction. The gun turrets mostly are of wrong type. But as a first step ... I tried to include the skin of the new Kuz into the old one. I added names and shipnumbers, which i had already done and, and, and ...... So it looks now: Not perfect, but better than nothing.
  10. I asked GKABS for new White Cliffs of Dover. Thats the result:
  11. Do you mean my old Afghanistan terrain which was made for WoI? If yes here are some files for a quick and dirty fix to make it work in SF2: Afghanistan_data.INI Afghanistan_NATIONS.INI Afghanistan_targets.INI copy the files into Afghanistan folder and let overwrite the old ones. Then you can make screenshots like this:
  12. What if the Korea War would have fought one year later and the Tommys sent out their first Hunters.
  13. Thats a pity. Then the best solution would be a special installation for SF2 especially for Afghanistan terrain, as i have done it in the old WoX days. Thanks for your answers.
  14. I need the wisdom of our great community. My question: Is it possible to limit the timeframe in which a Force (air and ground) can operate in a terrain? For instance my old Afghanistan terrain: Can i somehow limit the soviets to operate from 1979 till 1989 and the western forces from 2002 till today? Or my Battle of Britain terrain: How can i limit french or american planes to the historical correct timeframes whithout to mod the planes? Is it possible to mod the terrains_nations.ini file?
  15. The tactics for combat missions in manpad infested areas is following: Before you enter the area where manpads are suspected, you should start to drop flares. Every 4 or 5 seconds one. Continue this procedure till you leave the suspected area. Since range and maximum altitude of manpads are known it is easy to avoid their fire distance. And in doubt, drop flares. Better one to much, than one to less.
  16. The most simple solution is a bucket of diesel. The Wasps or Hornets think it is water and when they drink it, they are poisoned. Simple. Its better than try to shoot every single Hornet or worse shoot into a nest. One failed shot and you need to get outa there ASAP.
  17. German Bomber over London Docks. (small picture shows original BoB footage) Screenshot from Battle of Britain 2 "Operation Seelöwe" terrain (WIP)
  18. Last sit rep this weekend: First try to populate the target area Tilbury Docks: I used factory buildings (shed roof buildings) instead long warehouses. The orientation of the buildings does not fit perfectly to the tile, because the target editor spin buildings in 5° steps. This has to do by hand. But it is only a first try. Finish for today. Feierabend.
  19. Repainted the water, made the coastline fit with stock tiles and so it looks now. Not perfect, but better than before.
  20. Sit rep: The tiles of small rivers are dark now. This job has done and i'm satisfied with it. London tiling is also finished so far. Perhaps here and there some small things to do. Now i'm going down the river Themse and i have made 2 new tiles for Tilbury docks and the near Fort Tilbury. Making tiles from black and white ´photos is not as easy as thought. (As usually) The colors does not fit. Not yet. Give me 2 weeks or so. ;-)
  21. I think i will release the terrain with the JPG files. The TGA files could come as goodies in a seperate folder, so that guys with good computers can install the files with water effect.
  22. Its a nice addon for the new Battle of Britain "Operation Seelöwe" terrain (WIP).
