  1. RAF Warmwell, a Spitfire base near Weymouth. View from east view from west
  2. RAF Martlesham Heath reworked
  3. Thanks for correction. I have renamed the airbase now to RAF Martlesham Heath.
  4. RAF Martlesham I was unable to find an air footage of the airfield in 1940. Only a very bad one from 1946. RAF Martlesham was used from 1943 by the americans and got long crossing runways. So the position of buildings at my RAF Martlesham is only a guess.
  5. RAF Debden Robinson Shelters at RAF Debden
  6. RAF Debden, WIP. I want to show you, how i make the airbases. First i create a temporary tile which is simply a picture from Google Earth. This will be placed on the map. From this sat picture and old WW2 air footages i can guess where the single buidlings and runways and taxiways were located. Then i place the groundobjects on the guessed position. And when all is layed out as i wish i will replace the temporary tile with normal airfield tile on the map. And so looks RAF Debden at the moment:
  7. As quick and dirty fix you could use the line: EngineSoundName=PropLoop to overwrite the existing entry in the data.ini of the plane.
  8. No. Its not planned. Seaplanes were used for SAR missions only over the Ärmelkanal/English Channel/Le Manche. SAR missions are not possible in SF2 world. Thatswhy i will not include bases for seaplanes.
  9. Here is a screenshot from the book which i have mentioned. The left side shows a german fighter airfield during BoB:
  10. The problem is to get footages from 1940 for the german airfields. The british are well documented, the german bases rather less. I found a foto in Gallands book "Die Ersten und die Letzten", which showed an german airfield during BoB. It was a cluster of tents and huts and planes standing wild in the area. I will do my best to give each airfield an unique apperance. Sit rep: I added some more buildings and the Flak defence for RAF Northolt.
  11. RAF Northolt, an airfield west of London. Later in war the runways became longer and a third runway was built.
  12. Alert take off from RAF Hornchuch airfield.
  13. Thanks a lot. Sit rep: RAF Hornchurch, airfield of the second defend line of the Fighter Command, situated near London. First stage, only airfield buidlings are set Stage 2, included a road to the village and placed village houses. And so it looks now:
  14. Nice shelter. IIRC it was invented in 1938 and was used at satellite airfields like RAF Rochford.
  15. Not at all. The recoilless gun is widely used since 1945. The most popular weapons of this weapon type are soviet RPG-7 or german Panzerfaust.
  16. There were soviet combat spacecrafts in reality. Here a footage of Soyuz 7K-VI mockup: It is not widely known, that 3 of 7 launched SALUT space stations were in reality ALMAZ stations. ALMAZ was the military version of SALUT. It was armed with a 23mm gun. IIRC the crew of SALUT 5 trained the space combat with aiming the gun on american SKYLAB space station.
  17. So RAF Biggin Hill will be in game: The camoflaged runways are better to seen in this screenshot.
  18. This is an air footage of Biggin Hill during Battle of Britain. Biggin Hill was camouflaged, so that the runways were difficult to see. I dont know what they used for camouflaging the runways. Perhaps they painted them green or so. The contours of the imaginary fields were made by distribute tar on the meadow. I dont know wheter this kind of camo would be successfull to beat the Mk.1 Eyeball sensor of the bomber pilot, but on black and white footage the result is impressive.
  19. RAF Biggin Hill I had to move the airfields of Kenley, Biggin Hill and Rochford a little bit, to place them on a more or less correct point on the map.
  20. Ha ha, Bazillus gave me a revenge "Dislike". What a ukrainian piece of . If you has the ukraine as ally you need no enemies. LOL.
  21. RAF Kenley, an airfield of the second defence line close to London. Heavy Flak fire over RAF Kenley
