  1. Many happy returns mate!
  2. Happy holidays guys!
  3. Looks like the YAP team have got the WW2 bug. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/190/1/Rising_Sun.html http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/2920727/gonew/1/Welcome_to_the_Rising_Sun_Foru.html
  4. Happy Channukah guys, don't OD on the donoughts and latkes!
  5. http://blackflyforum.proboards.com/index.cgi/ Looks they're specialising in Canadian planes, but they have some other planes and ground objects on their WIP list. They've posted some WIP pictures at Capun's site too.
  6. It looks like Blackfly are working on a Backfire but they don't seem to have released any of their other WIPs yet.
  7. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8394977.stm RIP - A great actor, a true life hero, and he could have been James Bond too. (Maybe move this thread to The Pub?)
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8388396.stm What I don't understand is how the guy was free to do this in the first place. He was serving a 95 year sentence that was commuted? Surely there's something wrong with the system if a prisoner like that can just get released back into society.
  9. A Westland Lysander would be a nice addition for the BEF (and later for action in the Med and Burma\India too, and of course for dropping SOE agents into occupied France). With little bomb racks and machine guns in the wheel spats...what's not to like?!
  10. Thanks for all the kind words guys, both here and over on FB. Good news: After nearly a month in two different hospitals I'm now home. The lung is reinflated and stable for the moment and I'm resting up before heading back to work sometime next week. Not so good news: They did a CT scan which showed a cyst on the lung, so I'll be heading back for an op in the next few months to sort that out. The docs want my body to recover a bit after the trauma of having had chest drains, collapsed lung, a bit of chest infection etc before they do the op. I've heard from friends in medicine that the consultant who's treating me is one of the best in the country, so everything should be fine. In the meantime I've got a lot of catching up to do. Now, where did I put that new portable hard drive....
  11. Just a Quickie cos I'm typing this on my brother's iPhone. I'm currently in hospital with a collPsed lung. Been here for two weeks so far, on my third chest drain with daily xrays. Hopefully they won't have to operate. Looks like I'll have a lot to download when I get home!!
  12. It's here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=4363
  13. Try here. You'll need to register first before you can download. http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/
  14. Even the Israelis had 3 briefly from 1952 to '56.
  15. Aren't those already available? Look in the F-14 skins section at Fist of the Fleet. The link's at the top of the page.
  16. I thought we had a CR.42 already. But no, it's the CR.32 Capun's done. My bad. Looks like I went off a bit half-cocked on suggesting an Italian BoB campaign just yet.
  17. Now that we've got Veltro's excellent BR-20, is an Italian BoB campaign a possibility for the next version? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corpo_Aereo_Italiano This is the first bit of the article: Formation Italian dictator Benito Mussolini insisted on providing an element of the Italian Royal Air Force (Regia Aeronautica) to assist his German ally during the Battle of Britain. On September 10, 1940, under the aegis of the "Milan Air Squadron" (1a Squadra Aerea di Milano), the CAI was formed. Air Marshal (Generale sa) Rino Corso-Fougier was the CAI's Air Officer Commanding. Aircraft Fiat CR.42 of 18° Gruppo, 56° Stormo. The Italian CR.42 was a manoeuvrable and fast biplane fighter. Despite its good manoeuvrability and speed (440+ km/h) it was technically outclassed by the faster Hurricane and Spitfire of the British Royal Air Force. Fiat G.50 of 20° Gruppo, 56° Stormo. The Italian G.50 monoplane fighter was restricted by its range of 400 miles (640 km) (roughly the same as that of Bf 109E models used by the Luftwaffe) and the lack of a radio unit in most participating aircraft. Fiat BR.20 bombers of 13° and 43° Stormo. The Italian BR.20 was a twin engined bomber capable of carrying 1600 kg (3,528 lb) of bombs. Supporting aircraft included five CANT Z.1007 used for reconnaissance and Caproni Ca.133 transport planes. On September 25, the bombers arrived at their airfield in Melsbroek, Belgium. They arrived after an eventful journey which saw several planes force landed or even crashed due to malfunctions and poor weather. The fighter element arrived later at Ursel, also in Belgium. It looks like we still need the Fiat G.50 to complete the combat aircraft line-up, but perhaps one of the other Italian fighters that are available could act as a stand-in?
  18. I'm using WOE as my base sim. I'm pretty sure it said that in the readme.
  19. Get Airfix on the phone. I think we've got a contender for the model box artwork!
  20. http://military-machine.blogspot.com/search?q=focke+wulf+condor This might help.
  21. I like the sports area at the stern for shipboard recreational activities during the cruise. Good for tennis, basketball or five-a-side football (soccer to you yanks), but they need some nets!
  22. Mazel Tov Nesher! A great new year's present!
  23. Shana Tova Guys. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and sweet new year.
