  1. Best method is to have Thirdwire implement A2G turrets. Best hack so far is to place an invisible "aircraft" at the same location as a ground object in the mission editor. *sorry for the thread hijack, Dels. The Apache is looking awesome.
  2. Yeah, there is no way to get aircraft turrets track and fire on ground targets. Altitude, speed and distance have nothing to do with it. What Monty did was set up guns that fire sideways via the trigger button - they are not AI controlled.
  3. Sometimes I wonder that myself. Don't get me wrong. I understand the boot thing - can't polish suede. I won't get into the "we had it rougher" contest but I get an uneasy feeling of something is too lax. A basic example - lawns looking like they are ready for Halloween, buildings looking decrepit and dorms that look like they have never seen a GI party. Its kind of sad, really. I guess the trade off is that they are probably going to be knee deep in some serious s**t so I'll cut 'em a break. BTW, its not limited to the Army either. I've seen this on Marine and Air Force bases too.
  4. They are even more beautiful in person. We did some work at Gore Design in San Antonio and the wing conference table is jaw dropping stunning.

  8. Hmmm... what I'm trying to duplicate is the guns stopping momentarily once the rocket fire button is depressed and then starting back up after a given amount of time. Its just a curiosity on my part and serves no real purpose since you can't blow up your own ordnance with guns in this sim.
  9. Would it be possible to make the guns stop firing or incapacitate them once a rocket or missile is fired? I'm trying to keep them both from firing at the same time.

  15. I'll get back with you on that. I'm finding that there is some wild variety in the tail numbers. Unless you are up for the challenge, I can't ask you to make them all. Here is what I found so far, the tail numbers vary from your basic five number (15xxx) in all back, the 15 in black with xxx in yellow, the 15 in black with the xxx in white and just the xxx showing in white or yellow. If you're down, you can go for it. If not, I can do it. Did you say that you have the tail numbers? I have them but not all the details.

  18. Nope, not talking about the terrain. I'm referring to the overall dream-like blurriness/halo of objects. It has a name and its on the tip of my tongue...bloom, that's it. IMHO it ruins what could be a very nice visual experience. Its usually overdone and usually not needed unless they are simulating me walking with watery eyes.

  23. I'm at a point in my uv mapping/texture routine where I need a few ideas. I have made the basic texture and now I'm looking for texture ideas. I have plans to make the three-color camo for the NETT "Virginia Rose II", an early Playboys and a C/7/1 Cav bird What about a Spanish Navy Z-14? I'm making them 2048 DDS for detail and will include normal maps. This is the work in progress of C/7/1 Cavalry bird out of Muc Hoa 1969.
