depends on what im working on, some are quite fun to fly while others are pigs that im putting lipstick on in general, i do prefer the air to ground and support mission sets, and typically fly the jets best suited to that (A-10s, A-7s, F-4s and the range of heavies)

in win10, i've never had any issue with using GIMP and yours (or yakarov's) 4096 temps. and im using the same graphics as your gaming system i would suggest trying one of the free programs for your upscaling at least. that way if you hate GIMP or PaintNet you're not out any money.

Rusty, if you've been watching the screenie threads, you'll notice new RF work including some comprehensive Zweibrucken skins for Euro 1 and Hill gray, and im working wraparound right now. what time frame are you looking for exactly? my plan is just the 1980s, but if you have a fairly accurate list of serials that were there at a given timeframe i wont mind knocking out a SEA skin as well. but i do insist on a targeted list, 18-23 serials and no you dont get to copy and paste joe baugher over. research and the first few decals are always the hard part. i've got that done for what im doing, so if you got research down on this it wont be hard for me to knock out the decals

i think the Wing CO liked the nose art when 567 wnet to Zweibrucken. cause it stayed on and stayed the Wing King until 567 went to the paint shop to go gray in 88......

September 1987, a F-14A of VF-74, flying off the USS Forrestal, engaged an opposing aircraft that was to perform a simulated strike on CV-59. The Tomcat pilot engaed and scored a real live hit with an AIM-9 only problem was that Vodka 51 was a RF-4C of the 26th TRW, performing a simulated strike on the Forrestal......... fortuneatly the Phantom crew survived the incident, and was about the Forrestal 45 minutes later, meeting the Captain shortly after where what happened was explained to them......
