cant tell you for Novalogic for Janes, there was this dude that work for them for several years. had a aerospace engineering degree, consulted on the aerodynamics etc then he went out on his own, made his own studio and series. third something or another its still has a few fans, especially on this site. think some folks even still mod for it

im glad that you got it to work, and that you are working the issues yourself that said, keep in mind what other Kevin said: the two games dont really compare beyond the fact they are both flight sims DCS is a Formula 1 Ferrari, the high end of performance but most every modification is expensive as hell SF2 is a mid 90s Supra. still alot of fun, and tons of ways to cheaply aftermarket boost it up.

theres a few out there. for campaigns and flying, go for Green Hell, or the YAP-RW mod offsite for terrain, get Sundowners recent South East Asia personally i would love to see a Balkans campaign pop up (as many of us would). but we'll need the perfect storm of time, interest, and modder availablity that we had with ODS30AE thats the beauty. theres enough lego bricks in the mods to build your own world

big thanks to you sir. you've both been an inspiration over the years and a joy to work with. to paraphrase Basher in Oceans 11, "its nice to work with proper villians.." and i think most of us modders do 90% of what we do for ourselves and our interests at the moment. but seeing everyone else enjoy the work (and collaborating on projects with others) does make it worth sharing with the world

my couple of pennies I have been rocking Xidax systems since before they plastered the annoying ads all over socials (2015). they can be pricey, but are well worth it im rocking a X6 with an i9-14900 processor, 5080 card (didnt want to wait 3 months for a 5090) and 128 GB of RAM. 4TB storage across 2 ssd and one hard drive. RAn about 4100, but i did get it right after a hefty VA backpay check last year so.... opposite end of price spectrum i just got my wife an X2, AMD Ryzen 5 processor, Nvidia 3050 card, 16 GB RAM and 2 TB storage. was 1400 but got knocked down too a grand trading in the hand me down X6 from 2019. they do take payments thru Affirm also. i got a laptop to do school work on when i figured out my system was a little too overpowered and would crash unreal or even the whole system when i ran projects on the school comp's

the end year there affects aircraft iirc and stock terrains that dont normally have inis in the public you do need to adjust the terrains for each install as well, or they can shoot past your main limit
