  1. i think CGI would be better, as long as it's made good. red baron movie shows that CGI can make good and real looking AC (compared to flyboys, which really looks very computerish). they should only look for realistic behaviour instead of too much star wars style FM. IMO CGI would be better because you can make a pilot do whatever you wanna do. in real AC (blue max etc.) the stuntflyers are too cautious and have to fly certain patterns with safety first crap and where one can see that it's only choreographic. in hells angels and dawn patrol and wings on the other hand one can really see that there are real veterans flying.
  2. thank you for mentioning. i posted it in the old sound tweak thread. not sure if anybody noticed.
  3. i would like to see a new WW1 aviation tv-show, rather than a movie. with todays standarts tv shows are technically as good as movies 10 years ago (e.g. battlestar galactica etc.). maybe about MvR with a 2 or 3 season show. or the real story about escadrille lafayette, or about jasta 5 etc. or maybe a show with just a handfull, but long episodes, like the 80ies shogun or north and south.
  4. good point. for me also in movies the soundtrack is as important as the movie itself. maybe even more. what would rocky or star wars be without their soundtrack. or lord of the rings etc.
  5. please look into the download section, only for users of soundtweak II!!! small fix of nieuport silence (at least in campaign it works now. in QC i haven't tried) and other minor tweaks. drop all four off_merc_rpm files into C:\Programme\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\aircraft\Alb_DIII_early_Sqd\sound. that's an original mercedes albatros engine you'll hear when in the cockpit. all other soundfiles drop into C:\Programme\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\sounds (improved original sopwith engines) the sounds xml-file drop into C:\Programme\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields. when dropping into the apropriate folders, and it asks you to overwrite, just go ahead. please backup first any file you overwrite. just in case. original content belong to OBD software.

  8. thank you sir, please also try the homebrew. maybe there is something useful for you also
  9. as long as i've seen at least the albatros pilots are moving somewhat their head. that was there even before hitr. try when on the field in the outsideview when checking the controls.
  10. yep. that's right. i also don't read everything. i was just surprised and it made me smile because you've been "that" surprised . that's a good one, i need that tool definitely too
  11. olham, there are several people here using freetrack (gous etc.) it is mentioned fairly often in the forums for a year now. also how to build it, and links where to get parts etc. you read only what you wanna read, ol' chap, don't you?
  12. hi tofke . i like your avatar. love his laugh. that's what i emulate when playing jokes in the dugout
  13. guynemer is dead? no, you must be mistaken olham. he's still flying and can't land because he's flying too high. that's officially confirmed, so please don't twist historical facts!
  14. would fit as lyrics of a jefferson-airplane song
  15. btw. in my recent roland campaign it happened twice so far that one of my wingmen simply exploded on the airfield (or was it just the grass?). i considered it like one of the common accidents which happened quite often in real. it was the first time it happened, so it's maybe dependend of the airfield, since i'm flying right now with the marine-staffel.
  16. sorry for hijacking your thread again, OvS. last monday my wife and i went to the doc who checked everything as usual via ultrasound. now it is about halftime and what happened? what was thought to be a girl several weeks ago, turned out to be a boy now. . so obviously some particular part was hidden well .
  17. thank you, i already see myself driving in 3 a.m. through the city, searching for an open mcdonalds because she said: "daddy, wanna cheesburger". i don't think i'll be able to have some authority towards her at all because i'll be under her girly-pink-hello kitty-spell
  18. nice story mike . i don't think that's insane. at least you knew already in the dream that it was a sim and not real, otherwise you would not mourn the loss of your DiD pilot. as long as i know one can't dream his own death. the moment one dies in the dream (where he thinks he dies in real) is the moment one wakes up. dreaming of BHAH is maybe one of the best compliments one can make for this product
  19. great story . my wife and i (last time i mentioned her she was still girlfriend) are expecting a daughter in end of august/early september this year. that's exactly those stories i'm looking forward to have in future life .

  21. thanks for the information. uncle al always says the only stupid question is the one never asked, so here's my question, though maybe stupid. if it's the whole theater loading, would it be possible to reprogramm the engine to seperate the frontsectors like it is in rb3d (flanders, marne, verdun etc.) so the system doesn't need to load the whole theater although you're only flying in a certain sector. so it has not to swap and load that much and wich would then improve performance? same for airactivity where formations of AC are flying in verdun, while you are flying at the coast? or did i get it wrong?
  22. second that! jiiipiiiieee!!!
  23. no. you definitely CAN get credited for it. just the chances are lower. sometimes a new enemy AC appears at the front and you shoot one down and there is still no proper name of it so you have to choose single seater. you can also mix up the shot down AC completely and get credited for it. just think about how many nieuports are around. i never use labels (completely unrealistic. claim what you see or what you think you saw, as it was in real) and when shooting down a nieup, i'm often not sure, did he have a lewis gun on the top wing? were the roundels french? etc. so i claim one of the available nieuports which i think it was, and often enough i get a confirmation. even if you mix up camels with pups etc.
  24. What i mean is the microstuttering wich appears more when over the frontlines or near airfields. i also noticed that many AC wich are visible are no problem, but the formations of the AC sprayed unvisible in the theater are slowing the sim overall down. not too much fps wise, but it's not smooth anymore. setting sliders down didn't help a lot, so i think it's a combination of all factors wich increase the longer the war goes. imo mostly airactivity. nonetheless near the coast it runs lot smoother, so it must also be the scenery. my brother told me it might be worth to use faster memory, not necessarily bigger. so far i have 4 gig with 600 something clocking rate. maybe trying faster RAM (800+ or something) will cure the stuttering. it works only with 3.5 since i have dualboot with xp sp3 and win7, and on win7 i somehow wasn't able to make it run, so i fly on xp. but maybe it's worth a try. i have a gtx 260 oc and graphics are fine and it works well. it's only this stuttering.
