  1. Of course it would be more right looking, and they would change it, if it wasn't too much work. Otherwise, there are so many more important, desired things to change. More models to be built for example (Early fighters like Morane Parasol, Fokker D II - VI, two-seaters etc.).
  2. Good answer - yeah, why not give the good old Pfalz a try?
  3. My god, I can't believe it - I brought the "Blue Max" home! You wouldn't find anyone, who'd be happier about it than me - thank you very much for a great competiton, for all the work on the photo sets, and for finding and achieving a wonderful price. I will honour it with a display somehow, next to my "Cockpit". And I will try to achieve a "Pour Le Merite" in the sim, by flying more with my "Creaghorn-style" pilot. I'll send you my adress in a minute. Seeing, how everyone else seemed to "grow" during the last sets, I can only be glad, I got a lot of right answers earlier on - otherwise you would have left me behind. Astonishing, what you guys all dig up! For any future competition, I may have to "dress warm", as we say here, when something gets tough. Dej, I assume you were caught up workwise too much in the finish, but I hope you would join in on any future competition, if the will be one. Thank you all - it was a great pleasure to fight with, and against you, gentlemen!
  4. Pol, did you change the visual rudder at the Pfalz, or the flight model?
  5. Stump, you always come up with great new stuff! And I must say: sorry for not getting the Albatros water plane skinned yet; I just have too much to do, and the spare time, I wanted to do some flying. How long would you say does it take to learn GMAX so far, that one could build a Roland C.III, for example? I would really like to learn this.
  6. Manuc, you are in the map now. Have fun!
  7. Update 10/01/09 13:50 Berlin time (GMT +2) Manu, Germany, added. the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  8. Uuuhh!!! Hope is hasn't gone that bad with your teen son? But sometimes all parents feel like that, definitely!
  9. OT: Manuc, I haven't seen you before, so welcome with OFF (even if I might be late). I don't have you in the OFF Pilots Maps - would you please send me a PM with your town and country/state? Thanks!
  10. A great bunch of musical fellows! Your brother is faster underway on his banjo than you could follow in your Dr.I (Lol!) And thanks to Rooster, I also heard their "Man of constant sorrow". Not knowing anything about bluegrass, that is a title I heard in "Oh Brother Where Are Though". To be in such a band must be great fun.
  11. MODEL EXPO have a beautiful 1:16 skeletton of a D.V in wood and metal. RODEN has so far only the D.I, D.III and D.III OAW in 1:32.
  12. Does this mean, the Pfalz flight model is better now?
  13. That's their best known one here, too. And everyone comes up with this particular scene, when we talk about the movie. Haven't seen it since a long time - Michael Palin plays the scene brilliantly. A humorous lesson about the impossible attempt of men in power, to control everything.
  14. Wow, Rooster - you guys must have sources! The web fails me on this one, even when I know the name, I don't get a picture! Raaaahhhhhhh!!!!
  15. You're right, Lou (Lol! The Aaaarrrrgh!!! was great!) But not everybody is intellectual. (Rofl!)* *[the author wants to make clear here, that the "Rofl!" didn't mean anything else but "Rolling on the floor laughing"] PS: Sorry, I couldn't resist... (Lol!!)
  16. A stealth fighter she MUST be - the Huns can definitely not see her on radar (Lol!) Call her "Night Owl", Bullet.
  17. There they go again! Please remember, gentlemen - no bashing another sim, nor advertising here. But who the heck are Opus, Milquetoast and Bill?
  18. Hey, you guys - almost all DVD player's Regional code can be C H A N G E D ! Just Google the name of your player, plus: change regional code, and you will definitely get a simple instruction. On mine, it was a simple thing; I had to open the insert, then press some numbers, and then close it again. Dead simple. Later, you do the same procedure again, to change back. Childsplay. PS: Learnt that, cause I stumbled over a cheap offer of all the "Avengers" DVDs with Diana Rigg. I had to have them. Next on the list: Blackadder
  19. I see. And I understand, a program must be quite a giant maze surely. Perhaps, if you note it, and maybe there is some space/time - well, sounds rather hopeless to myself, when I read my words...
  20. Yeah, that's more like it, Cameljockey! I will also check through the many screenshots and ask the people who sent useful ones, if they can be shown in Wikipedia.
  21. Pol, did you re-fix "A-flight/B-flight stay together after warping" problem? Cause that is pretty substantcial, if you want to survive 1917 and 1918.
  22. They are okay, Wels, but I'd prefer pics that almost tell a story; I can't use too many there, so they must be THE PICS of all pics.
  23. I'm lost at these pics yet - my 36 hours will be over, before I found anything - raaaahhh!!!
  24. "I recently acquired a scrapbook with about 50 snapshots from World War One. They are from the 1st Pursuit Group which is comprised at that time of the 27th "Eagle Squadron", 94th "Hat In The Ring", and the 95th "Kicking Mule". There were later squadrons, but I believe that these were the first. The 1st Operations Group is the oldest air combat group in the US service. The First Pursuit Group which we have here was operational is France about May, 1918. The 94th and 95th Aero Squadrons were the first assigned to the Group." For the picture, the text is: "WWI-3 - Lineup of 27th AS Spads at Rembercourt postwar. In theforeground is an unmarked Blériot-built Spad with red cowl of A-Flight.The second Spad in line is #26, thought to be the replacement airplanebeing prepared for Frank Luke at the time he was killed on 29September. If so it would likely be Kellner-built S.7686 assigned 24September and salvaged at the 1st Air Depot on 15 December 1918. Thisphoto indicates a blue cowl, the flight marking for B-Flight. Anotherview of this lineup also shows the plane with the diamond motif on thecowl (plane #13) in the same position relative to #26, and it has thesame blemish on the wheel disc. Capt. Alfred Grant’s diary indicatesthat his plane #13 was one of four transferred to the 94th AS on 14November. However, another Blériot-built machine, S.18872, was receivedon 20 November and returned to the 1st Air Depot on 8 December. Thiscould be the #13 machine with the diamond motif. If so, theearly-December hypothesis for the photo (see HJ.37) could still hold.ADT 10/12/07" http://www.minnesooota.com/main_AeroSquadron.asp
  25. Yes, that's early enough. Will only find time for the writing on weekend, myself. Even if any pics arrived next week, I could still exchange them. To make it more Wiki- and common user-friendly, I may even add your forum names there for each picture I use, to make clear, that this is not posted by OBD, but by players.
