The Pfalz can fight the SPAD now. It's not easy, but when the SPAD goes low, follow and hit him. When your shooting is good even at longer ranges, you can get him. This one was really hit by two good bursts, and he didn't escape me. Although I would prefer the SPAD in a dogfight, the Pfalz is turning quite well banked hard, using elevator. Hi, Jaa, welcome over Flanders Fields! For the escort, try "air start" (little check-box in the Briefing menue down right, where you choose the amount of fuel you want to take with you. Once in the air, stay with the bombers. Warping has gone recently "kaputt" somehow. You may try Warp, and get out of it earlier by pressing Ctrl. + X - perhaps the bombers are still there. But it's uncertain. It's better anyway to fly in real time, as you can get to the desired altitude, and the immersion factor is much higher. Of course, when you have to fly one hour to get to the front - fly German then. We have the short ways! (Lol!) Well, the word "bug" is definitely coming too easy sometimes. I could imagine, that they where used instead of the not yet available N 24 or 28. I find it better to have a similar opponent than none at all. And soon, we will have some of such gaps filled with new craft.

Wow, great thread about pushing up the immersion and reality level (I wonder why Creaghorn isn't here yet? Lol!). What I did, when I had a serious longer lasting pilot, I screenshot the area in Google maps (set on "terrain"), and compiled a map of six parts made that way. But it still had no aerodromes in it. Dej is working on an addition to Google maps, where he put in the known aerodromes, together with a part of the old field/trench maps I found some time ago. Don't know how far he has got. RABU, your map looks great - I think, I'll give those a try and add the aerodromes of my area myself, as CheckSix suggested. And now for soenthing completely different: How could it be, that I have never noticed Dirk98 or Nordo here before? You two, would you please send me a PM with your hometown and country - I'd like to add you to the OFF Pilots Map. Thanks!

Well, the D XII is another cup of tea, surely. The D IIIa wasn't that popular among pilots, and they prefered the Albatros D Va, although that craft also was dated by 1918 standards. The Pfalz DIIIa in the hands of a good pilot should be a craft to fight heavy energy fighters like the SPAD XIII, or two-seaters. Against turn fighters like the Camel - I don't know - hit and run maybe, and only with good altitude advantage. I must try that.

Yes, it was intended. I had a picture of the paint work at the factory. It showed two men with big washes in the room, working on two part of canvas. So I asume, the canvas of Voss' Fokker was first painted light blue. Then the other guy did the green streaks.

Maybe you can convert at DIII to a DV. No, I don't think that would work. The RODEN people would have doen that, if it was that simple. The D V and D Va had more oval shaped fuselage ribs; the D III was almost round. But one day they will have to make them.

Although I can't compare to what the Pfalz used to be, as I didn't fly her really, I can say, that she is now capable to fight SPAD XIII in a team with other Pfalzes. Her climb is good, her dive very sturdy, and her turning - well, it must be trained I suppose, but it wasn't too bad for my first fight in her since May. She will definitely find more friends now!

Just made one flight with the Pfalz D IIIa to check what was changed. But I don't know the craft so well. What I liked was the good climb up towards a flight of Strutters; we reached them and brought two down; Albatros D V from two other Jastas finished the others. 1918 the sky is crowded! Our mission was to protect balloons, and although we couldn't save it from the attack of 4 SPAD XIII, we didn't let one of them return home. I realised, that the Pfalz is a good craft for fighting in teams, and I trained my abilities as a commander. When my ammo was out, I had damaged three SPADs so much they rather crawled, and then I ordered my wingmen again and again, which craft to attack first. That way we killed them without a single loss! So low down, the SPAD has no real advantage, except the better speed for running home. Like the SPAD, the Pfalz didn't seem to like a mix of banked turn using elevator, and rudder turn. You better only do the one or the other. But up to a bank of 30 - 40 °, I could turn well using rudder. The dive stability is wonderful, when you come from the Albatros. So, I got 1 Strutter, and me and my 3 wings finished off 4 SPAD XIII. When you look at the map excerpt, you see, this was a busy day in my area.

GEPARD, modder gibt's bei OFF auch, die stellen da einiges zur Verfügung, bis hin zu großen Gotha-Bombern und sogar Zeppelinen. Ich selbst bin oft als Hobby-skinner zugange, und wir haben schon zahllose Skins zum downloaden eingestellt. BLACKBIRD, ob es ein Demo gibt, weiß ich nicht, mußt Du mal unter www.overflandersfields.com schauen. Ich sage mal so: wenn einer auf WW1 air combat steht, eine Vielzahl von Flugzeugtypen wünscht, schwere Luftkämpfe gegen eine sehr gute AI fliegen will und gern Kampagnen fliegen will, der kann hier nichts falsch machen. Gerade sind weitere Flugzeuge (Nieuport 28, Fokker E.V / D VIII und mehr) im Bau. Der Zugang zu OFF ist sicher nicht einfach zu haben. Für S.T.A.L.K.E.R. bin ich einfach in den nächsten Laden marschiert und hab's mir gegriffen. Hier mußt Du CFS3 haben oder besorgen, und dann warten, bis die Sim eintrifft (max. 14 Tage). Aber ich bin saufroh, dass ich das alles gemacht habe. Ich rüste sogar meine CPU noch etwas auf dafür. Wollte hier mal eine Sim vorstellen, die ich echt LIEBE, wie ich selten ein PC-Spiel oder eine Sim geliebt habe. Denn diese Extra-Portion Athmosphäre hat ja nicht jedes Spiel. Wrote this in another thread but thought, some of you might want to see DVDs from other code regions. Hey, you guys - almost all DVD player's Regional code can be C H A N G E D ! Just Google the name of your player, plus: "change regional code", or "codefree"and you will definitely get a simple instruction. On my CyberHome CH-DVD 505, it was a simple thing: 1. Press open/close 2. Menue - press: 1 1 1 1 3. Press "Enter" 4. enter the desired code 5. Press "Return" Later, you do the same procedure again, to change back. Childsplay. (This is for the CyberHome - please google for your model). PS: Learnt that, cause I stumbled over a cheap offer of all the "Avengers" DVDs with Diana Rigg. I had to have them.
