This is a mod of TMF's F-14B (96) to make it look like a multirole aircraft from the israeli air force. BACKGROUND: Being impressed of the interception capabilities of the F-14 combined with the AIM-54 Phoenix, the IDF decided to order themselves a modified version of the F-14B, the bombing capable version of the Tomcat. Modifications were performed by IAI. The modifications also needed the AIM-54C to be modified. Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, the national arms manufacturer, created, based on the construction plans of the Phoenix, the 'Serpent' LRAAM, which design was identical to the Phoenix but with israeli electronics inside. The missile was extensely tested over the mediterranean sea and proofed to be equal to the AIM-54 concerning performance, reliability and accuracy. Primary role was the interception of incoming enemy planes from seaside long before reaching the coast and secondary role was Strike and Anti-Ship-Missions. Two squadrons got equipped with the 'Peten': The Valley Squadron (109th) grey camo Flying Dragon Squadron (115th) desert camo INSTALLATION: Simply drop the Folders into your Strike Fighters Mods Folder. CREDITS: Model: Flying Toaster, BPAo Skins and Flight Model: column5 Cockpit: Chris Avionics: MoonJumper Pilots: Diego Extra Hangar and Loading Screens: USAFMTL Testing: The Mirage Factory Big Thanks to Sony Tuckson for allowing me to release this mod. IMPORTANT: THE SKINS ARE COVERED BY THE FREEWARE LICENSING AGREEMENT WHILE THE PLANE STILL NEEDS A PERMISSION FROM TMF TO BECOME MODIFIED; ALSO APPLIES TO THIS VERSION. Dedicated to BPAo. May he rest in peace. Enjoy. NazGhul
  2. Don't exactly get what you mean. This plane is considered to have been used between 1996 and 2006. AIM-54 was retired in 2004. So why would be the use of BVR would be against NATO and Geneva? And since it is a what if, I don't think this has to be considered or am I wrong?

  6. You have to assure that the bmp is saved as a 24-bit bmp-file. Otherwise you will get the black skin. Concerning the file-names: Look into a folder of a camo inside the main plane folder. there you will find some bmp-files. Check that the modified bmp-file gets the exact name. An example: if one file inside the folder is named "wings.bmp", the correspondent file has to be named "wings.bmp" too. Otherwise it won't function. If you are not sure, send me the link to the plane you want to create the skin for and the your files and I will look it up.

  9. [Renewed] Hispano-Suiza HS.304 Trueno (Thunder) View File Fictional mod of the stock MiG-21MF to make it look like a fictional fighter plane for the spanish air force. YOU WILL NEED BOTH SF2:E AND SF2:I AT LEAST TO GET THIS PLANE RUNNING! BACKGROUND In the end of the 1960s, the HA.210 Hidalgo got outdated due to the appearance of new fighters and weapons. The new Semi-Active Homing-Technology made the Hidalgo a easy target for medium and long-range attacks. A new fighter, able of carrying the allied equivalent, tha AIM-7 Sparrow, was needed. Hispano-Suiza and CASA competed in the production of this new plane. Hispano-Suiza won the competition with the fighter called "Trueno". The design was sleak but robust. The maiden-flight of the plane was on the 21st of January of 1971 and the 111th and 113th squadron were supplied with this plane in December of the same year. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Drop the folders into your Objects folder. If asked to overwrite, click yes. CREDITS Big Thanks to Thirdwire for the games and the superb models they have. 12. View File [Fictional] IAI/McDonnellDouglas Ze'ev (Wolf) This is a mod of Bobrocks Av-8B+ to make it look like a plane from the israeli air force. THIS MOD IS FOR A FULL MERGED INSTALL OR AT LEAST SF2:E AND SF2:I. OTHERWISE THE PLANE WON'T FUNCTION PROPERLY. BACKGROUND: After Desert Storm in 1991, the high command of the israeli air force recognized the need of a carrier-based strike force to improve their reaction capabilities in a modern conflict. For this aim, the purchase of two french aircraft carriers of the Clemenceau-class was planned. As aircraft for the carriers, the IDF wanted an adaptated version of the AV-8B+. In 1994, the carrier purchase was cancelled due to budget restrictions, but the adapted Harrier called Ze'ev was kept and did service in the 193th Squadron. INSTALLATION: Simply drop the Folders into your Strike Fighters Mods Folder. CREDITS: Many thanks to bobrock and all the others involved in this great model! Also special thanks to Brain32 for adapting it to SF2-Standards. Enjoy. NazGhul Submitter ValAstur Submitted 08/17/2011 Category What If Hangar

  24. View File [Fictional] FA-18I Akav (Buzzard) This is a mod of the Super Hornet F from EricJ to make it look like a plane from the israeli air force. BACKGROUND: In the final years of the first decade of the 21st century, Israel decided to replace their F-16C and D-Models (Barak) with a new type of fighter/bomber. The only really fitting model for type of missions was the FA-18 Super Hornet. The decision of either taking the E or F-model was decided in favor of the F-model due to the fact that two crewmembers would bring a better performance during the missions. The squadrons of the IAF equipped with the adapted Version, the Akav, were the 116th Squadron "Defenders of the South" and the 140th Squadron, "The Golden Eagle". INSTALLATION: Simply drop the Folders into your Strike Fighters Mods Folder. CREDITS: EricJ – Purchased Model of F/A-18F from http://www.mesh-factory.com, Main texture artist, ini editing.
