  1. Flying low is more CPU and GPU intensive than in high altitude. it has to draw objects with more detail, so.... That's also a good tip Panama.
  2. Welcome Greg! I suppose you've already see the FAQ, but just in case here is the link. http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Installation_and_settings Have you tried to cap maximum frame rate to 30 (MaxFPS="30")? People report that sometimes it help reducing the stuttering. http://www.overflandersfields.com/Tips.htm Another thing you can try is to set the affinity just to one core. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=37997 http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=44947 Finally another tip, try to use a program like Game Booster that disable temporarily some background processes that can cause bad system performance. http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html
  3. Olham was referring to unlocking DVD in order to be region free permanently. There is no problem only you've got to know the right code for your brand and model. But on some model, specially Sony, it requires more than a simple code to unlock. Google the internet for region free and your model and the answer is there. EDIT: Right flynn.
  4. No. You British have so many good series. I can't complain much, because Portuguese national TV transmitted a lot (at least the most important). Thanks, Red-Dog, I'll try to get a preview in internet.
  5. Welcome Manuc! I've never noticed that there was no bare trees in Winter. I'll try to check it later.
  6. Finally! I'm going to replace my bad copy. And released on my birthday. That will be my own gift.
  7. Great stuff Stiffy. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Not necessarily. If you think that the sim is not running smoothly enough then you can try it, otherwise... I've a Intel Core2Duo and having stuttering (due to graphic card drivers) in XP but in Win7 is running quite smooth with no affinity. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=37997 http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=44947
  9. Nice pictures Rickity.
  10. Agree. I love Yeats. For me it's one of the best poets of 20th century.
  11. Welcome. I've ROF too, but I prefer this one. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy. You'll find a good campaign. in the sim and a good community in this forum. As for the specs look at this thread: http://www.overflandersfields.com/sysreq.htm My copy arrived, in Portugal, in 8 days. Don't forget that you need CFS3 also.
  12. When I like something, that's what I do. I naturally spread the word. But the problem in this case is CFS3. When I say that word, people will just fly away. That's a real prejudice.
  13. It's on my top 3 best video games ever. The game had two games inside one economic/trading and the other space simulation. We were at the very beginning of micro computers and what this two brilliant young students achieved at the time was simply amazing. The game was really addictive and has still a large fan base. I hope to be commemorating OFF in 25 years as well. For UK viewers : http://demand.five.t....TheModernWorld
  14. Sorry for this off-topic, but there is an important anniversary announcement. It's the 25th anniversary of Elite. Probably more known amongst my blighty mates but Elite was probably the first immersive game in the all story of computer gaming. http://elite.frontier.co.uk/ Long live elite fans.
  15. With TrackIR4, software version 5 and ClipPro the only thing you need to do is to choose profile "smooth" for Combat Flight Simulator 3. There are three profiles but "smooth" is the best for flight sim.
  16. In this sim we're always saying these things like "I'll not do it again". But in the end, we all know that we will be caught by the cruelty of the war.
  17. Quoted For Truth. It's an amazing story and somehow tells a lot of what we are. In combat situations we'll find what is best and worst in the human kind.
  18. A bit off topic. But with the indulgence of other mates here I'll give my opinion. Firstly it was not totally bug or unfinished at the release. The campaign did have some bugs but most were ironed after 2 patches. There are still bugs and performance issues that need to be addressed. But BIS devs are known for their commitment in supporting their games. So one thing you can rest assure is that they will support and will solve most of the problems with time. ARMA II is a fabulous and a very ambitious mil sim project. It's the only real sandbox mil sim experience you have in any platform. Besides, there's an all community creating missions, addons, modd, that turn ARMA's II life expectancy from a couple of months of play into years of great gaming experience. Today they released another patch, the fourth, where they ironed and improved a few things. ARMA and OFF are two unique experiences in terms of immersion and playbility. That's what I want and expect in modern gaming. DerMo of you want to know anything more about ARMA II just PM me and I'll be glad to answer. Thank you gentleman.
